The Mackinac House

We had a great experience at Mackinac House. It is close to the main attractions but also secluded on a back road where not as busy. We enjoyed the cleanliness of the hotel and amenities it offered. It was also great for our one year old. The continental breakfast was really nice to have as well - great variety of breakfasts foods! The lobby is a great place to relax after a long day as well. Would recommend!

Everything about our stay was perfect. The staff go above and beyond. The location couldn't have been more perfect as it was conveniently located yet somehow so peaceful. Our room was comfortable with a great mattress and cotton sheets which I very much appreciated. We felt perfectly at home and look forward to another stay in the future. It was hands down the best inn/boutique hotel experience I've ever had!

What a beautiful boutique inn! We had a wonderful stay in May and have already recommended this place to several friends! First off it was walking distance from pier so we walked our own luggage there.
Check in was seamless with cookies and drinks too!
The room was spotless, the breakfast phenomenal and service excellent! Perfect location...one block over from all of the hustle and bustle of Main Street! Everything was within walking distance too! Thank you so much!

Oh my gosh! Can't say enough good about The Mackinac House. Let's start with how wonderful David is transporting your luggage. He makes it so easy. Alyssa is so friendly and does an awesome job with the continental breakfast and snacks in the afternoon. Such a wonderful selection. She makes you feel right at home. Very clean and quiet establishment. Room was clean and very nice. Perfect location near downtown. Many places to sit and relax and watch the horse and buggies trot by. Highly recommend staying here!!! Definitely will go back!!!

Location is great. Not on the main road but definitely close enough for an easy walking distance from the ferry. Service is excellent. Rooms were very nice. Breakfast and snacks provided were a nice touch. We had a bottom floor room and was a little loud but was not unbearable. I would definitely stay here again.

What a great place to stay and the room was charming and updated! We stayed in the tower room, #31, and loved the windows and view. The staff was friendly and the cleanliness was outstanding. If we come back to the island again, we will definitely stay here. Highly recommended!

The Mackinac House is absolutely wonderful! The staff and manager go above and beyond to make every guest's visit memorable. I was impressed from the start when making reservations and the excellent service continued passed checkout.
The Mackinac House is spotless, the decor is welcoming and beautiful. The room and bathrooms are large and very comfortable beds.
The Porter David met us at the ferry on time with a smile and provided helpful information.
Im hoping for a return visit next year for a family trip and woulld concider staying anywhere else but the Mackinac House!

The mackinac house is as cute as can be something out of a story book the rooms as very nice continental breakfast is provided every day and the spread is amazing Jasmine n Alyssa are so warm n inviting and Dave the bellman is such a good n hard worker so very friendly I wish I could give more than 5 stars because this place is so clean and smells so good well done to all of the house keeping staff 😊😀

This is the best place I've stayed.On mackinaw island I am for the past few years. New fresh and clean. The staff is great here. Definitely will be returning.

This was our first trip to Mackinac Island and we loved our stay at The Mackinac House. It is very conveniently located without being right on Main St. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We like to sleep with a fan for noise and they had one in the room which was great since we forgot to bring ours! We did not have the breakfast or snacks there but they looked well stocked with plenty of options! I will stay here again when coming back to the island. The stairs to the upper rooms are a little narrow and could be difficult for some to navigate, especially with luggage, but I’m sure they would be willing to assist if asked, the staff was very friendly!

One of the best experiences we have had on vacation. Absolute gem. The location is perfectly centralized to popular places in town. The room was beautifully decorated and beyond clean. The amenities were far above our expectations. So many delicious snack options every day! Alissa went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcomed and enjoyed our anniversary weekend.

Lovely inn with very clean rooms! The noise from other rooms and hallway sips in a bit, but they do have a quiet time policy from 10pm to 7am. Nice small continental breakfast options and snack time?! Yes, please! Rate is decent compared to other places.

We recently traveled to Mackinac Island for a wedding and stayed at this property for 3 nights. It was absolutely a great place to stay and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodations. And Alissa does a great job taking care of all the guests while making it look effortless. It had been many, many years since we were last on the island, and this trip confirmed we will be coming back much more often. And when we do, this will be the property we stay at!

This was our very first visit to Mackinac Island and won't be our last! We are so glad we chose The Mackinac House.
We loved everything about it! They had nice breakfast options, coffee, tea, and water available all day. Snacks in the afternoon were a plentiful assortment.

Jazmine was there when we checked in and saw most of our stay. She's a sweetheart and she's a keeper don't lose her! She is a wonderful young lady!! David was a godsend with picking up our luggage from Sheplers ferry and taking it back to the ferry dock for us! He kept in contact with us via messaging. Which was wonderful and so helpful.
Honestly, the entire staff was wonderful, helpful, and accommodating. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The Mackinac House was me & my husband’s first stay on the island & made my 50th birthday that much more memorable! Alyssa was helpful, hospitable & welcoming! She even had a sweet card & yummy fudge waiting in our room. The hotel wasn’t overpriced like others & was conveniently located to the marina, shopping, restaurants etc. A few minor things we would have liked better, expanding the breakfast to possibly include a protein or offer different options. Also, the bathroom although beautiful, was quite slippery in the shower & floor with the tile. However, we enjoyed our stay & would visit again! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mackinac House. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are beautifully decorated and there are many extra well done details. We enjoyed time spent on our balcony, in the lobby and out on the front porch. All of the staff were very sweet with our 7 year old daughter as well and you can tell children are very welcome here. The snacks in the lobby were great with a wide variety and the continental breakfast was great too! We will definitely be back the next time we visit the island!

This is my new go to place to stay on the island. The staff was friendly, decor adorable, rooms clean and comfortable, loved the shower, and the window bench for breakfast was a perfect way to start each day. We spent a lot of time on the front porch for its beauty, peacefulness, and watching the horses pass by. I cannot say enough about this location. Such a simple walk a block up and all of the tourism chaos disappears. It's so calming, the front yard is perfect, yet everything remains accessible by foot. This is the place to stay for families, couples, friends... Anyone who wants a positive, relaxing visit.

We’re frequent fliers of The Mackinac House. We’ve stayed here 3 times now and only hope to stay here more in the future. Rooms are spacious, well decorated, and full of character. Bathrooms are always large with plenty of lighting options and plenty of towels. Rooms come with a smart TV, Keurig, and a mini fridge. Staff here is absolutely amazing! Alissa, Clover and crew truly make you feel like family. We love the breakfast in the morning (milk, juice, yogurt, bagels, fruit, muffins) as well as snacks in the afternoon. There’s a handful of tables and chairs in the commons area to play games, chat, or eat dinner. Highly recommend staying here!

We had a lovely stay at the mackinac house! The decor is lovely, the hotel was very clean, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved the breakfast and snack options. The location was perfect too: downtown, but quieter than Main Street. We would definitely stay here again!
After reading other comments, I will note that we traveled with a baby and a 2 year old who had their fair share of crying/screaming moments. As bad as we felt for those around us, we were never told to be quiet or to manage our children better. There were many other families there during our stay too, so my personal experience would say this is definitely a good option for families.

We loved our stay. Booked here because of the great interior design - it didn't disappoint. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only bad think was during "quiet hours" there were some very loud guests in the lobby. When we couldn't sleep because of noise, we took a late night walk under the full "hunters moon" along the boardwalk. What was a bad situation, turned out to be the most memorable time of our stay.
