Lucky Bean Coffee House

I have to go to this Island about once a year with family. I only spend a day or so, and that day would be so difficult without this place. Only place for great coffee. Service is excellent. Special shout out to the dude that told me I’m better off using “Swift” instant coffee than using the Mr Coffee machine at the condo. I didn’t believe him and bought a bag of grounds. But he gave me two samples to try out. They sat in my cupboard for a couple days, tried them out and the dude was absolutely right. Highly recommend it for other coffee lovers visiting the island. Lucky Bean really deserves 6/5 stars. The service is great—they love people and coffee. I feel cared for each time I go in. What I really like about Lucky Bean is the precision of each drink. I can depend on my drink tasting the same from one day to the next, sometimes a struggle in local coffee shops. When it gets a little full inside, they’re able to flawlessly switch to bringing folks’ drinks outside. Sugar Loaf is a classic, but I enjoy their smoothies, too. I love it here!

Walking into this beautiful coffee shop is met with warm welcomes, & the sweet smell of the caramel and coffee scents that continue to waft out onto market street. I had one named Betty White, so delicious.

The coffee shop has the best coffee on the island and really cute merchandise as well. I bought a sweater; it is so warm and has the softest feel inside.

I took my mother to Mackinac Island for her first visit here and she had been told by coworkers that we needed to stop in here! I was over the moon with just how good my caramel latte was. My only regret is that I didn’t order a larger size as I made short work of the cup I had! My favorite caramel latte to date! Highly recommend!!

This is THE best coffee on Mackinac Island! It is so cute & cozy. It's away from the hustle & bustle of the main street, but it still gets plenty of sights to see & foot traffic. The service is always top-notch and personable. They make you feel welcome & seem genuinely interested in your visit. You almost forget there's sights to see & things to do because you want to sit and hang out & chat with the staff because they're so nice. We admit, we're coffee snobs & we can't get enough while we're there. We will easily visit at LEAST 3 times on just a day trip. You'll need all the caffeine you can get to do all of the things you want to get done in a day. Lucky Bean is place to get it & give those horses a run for their money! lol

Great coffee shop. One of the only places on the island to work on a laptop if you need to: it has tables and great wifi. My husband and I work remotely and stopped here for about two hours. It was busy, as is anything on Mackinac Island. We loved the coffee!

The iced Carmel frappe, mango and strawberry banana smoothies were amazing! Our first day of School for our two older kids 9/5/2023. We got great service, great coffee and doughnuts, free wifi and a friendly atmosphere! The weather was perfect!

-expensive cold brew but absolutely delicious with just a splash of cream (great for “chasing” all the fudge, lol). People that work here are friendly and competent. It was an oasis for me as I think it is on very low taste that the island allowed a Starbucks on the main street…ends up being one of the first things you see when you walk away from the ferry😔…definitely NOT Pure Michigan

Super cool small coffee shop on Mackinac island. Bringing quality beans and baristas to the island. If you like coffee, this is the best place on the island

The coffee was great! The atmosphere is nice, and have cool merch. It’s pretty small inside, so it may be hard to get a table. They do have seating outside the shop though! Overall a great experience!

On a rainy arrival to the island, we headed straight here! Enjoyed a delicious coffee and chai while we explored the museum across the street until the sun came out. Lovely. You will wait awhile for your drinks, especially in high season. But it’s worth it! And fun to get off Main Street for a minute. Staff is always fun and friendly.

Lucky bean coffee has the best coffee on the island IMHO. People are nice, coffee is great. My only teeny tiny suggestion is to add 2-4 more chairs outside.

We ordered an iced caramel latte and a love potion drip coffee.

Both were good, and had strong aromatic flavors.

The line was out of the door when we arrived, it took about 15-20 mins to get our drinks after ordering. Just something to keep in mind if you’ve got other activities scheduled for the day.

We think you should choose this over Starbucks on the island. They have specialty coffees during certain seasons plus a wide variety all the time. They also have tea and smoothies and various pastries and bagels. Yum.

Best coffee shop on the island (where the locals go). “Love potion” flavored coffee was outstanding. Very reasonable prices, well worth a stop.

We saw this shop while wandering, and when we realized we had an hour till our ferry, we decided to try “where the locals” get their coffee drinks. With three people, we ordered three different items: hot chocolate, dark roast regular coffee, and a flat white. The hot chocolate was “not too sweet,” just like she wanted. The dark roast was bold without tasting burnt (and the barista replaced the whole drink when his hand slipped on the lid and his finger went in the cup - no one knew but him, so he could have gotten away with just handing it over…). The flat white showed they know how to pull an espresso shot brilliantly. The flavor was rich and nutty without the least bitterness. They were seriously busy at 3:15 in the afternoon, and yet they stayed professional and kept the drinks rolling out. Our order was complete in under five minutes, maybe as few as three, despite the constant flow of customers.

Highly recommend this purveyor of hot liquid joy!

We enjoyed the coffee and atmosphere at the Lucky Bean. The prices were affordable and definitely better than Starbucks. They are a bit off the beaten path, but highly recommend.

An outstanding stop. It's not a chain shop. Attention to detail, and great quality drink.

Had a chance to stop for a black coffee at Lucky Bean. It's delicious and affordable for the island. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Great stop on the island.

It won’t be as good as back home, but they try their best.
