I ordered bacon only , crispy , and it was perfect , I picked up from the drive thru , it was hot , perfectly crisp , and delicious . I ordered it to take to a trunk or treat , to keep me from eating candy , or whatever was given away , kept me satisfied , only had one little snack size Swedish fish !! Everything I have had from there has been delicious and have been going since I was a child and Im 60 yrs young now ! Im sure this is too much info .... But I love Ritz's👍👍

What an unexpected treat! I had a “horseshoe” Philly cheese steak. Now - I didn’t know what this was - but these locals from this nice small town of Springfield, Illinois taught me something. It’s basically an open faced sandwich, covered in waffle fries and smothered in cheese sauce. I sure wish I thought to grab a photo, because for how it looked versus how it tasted were totally different emotions. Aside from the filling, and delightful dining experience - this small town diner was right on the money. Looking at the rest of the menu, a solo person can eat for around $10-$15, and I don’t mean a small appetizer. The meals were big, the neighbors (Excuse me “other customers”) were kind and thoughtful, and the service was not only friendly but they were fast! Honestly, it hit the spot, and again the service was on point.

An old time favorite. However today I had to enjoy a hamburger ponyshoe instead of a horseshoe. I found the smaller version just as delicious as the full sized version. The onion rings was sooooo good.

They are always packed, but the service is top notch! I never have to ask for anything, it's always there before I realize I need it!

I love this restaurant, I have been going here since I was a child. They have the best horseshoes! Now-a-days, if you order pancakes for your child, they make them in to a cute picture for them. Last time that my sister and I took our boys there, they made them ninja turtles. Pretty sure my sister and I loved them more than our boys lol.

The owner I met just having a conversation. I asked him if there was any where good to eat. He said Hell Ya. We are from out of town. So he gave us a ride. I had a Pony shoe with sausage. All of it was homemade. Very good food. But beware. You must be hungry. Big portions.

It was my first time there and it was busy but the food was amazing the service was amazing the atmosphere was great I'd go back in a heartbeat

Update on former review. Totally redeemed themselves. Has become our once a week breakfast place. So glad we gave them a second chance. Great food, great price, but even better than that, great staff!

Food is always great and mostly the service is, too. There's a younger waitress who always appears to be agitated, but the others are great. Prices are very reasonable and you can order from entire menu even during breakfast. We go at least once per month. It's nearly an hour's drive and worth it! It can be a bit loud if that is a worry for you.

Picked up order. Food is always delicious, fast, and reasonably priced for us Northenders.
