Dr. Icaza listened intently, and took my whole health history into account when presenting my options for bariatric care. I very much appreciated his candid explanations, good and bad, of my options. There was no pressure, and I felt listened to.

I was shocked to read that others speak of poor care, and felt like it was important to share my experience. I felt so loved and so cared for the Dr Icaza and his staff. I had the DJBS weight loss surgery and the whole program leading up to surgery was a blessing that I didn’t even know I needed. I felt so prepared to be successful. My experience with surgery was perfectly smooth, and I’ve been maintaining since April 2019. I was extra sensitive to the pain medication and sedation after surgery. Dr Icaza was so kind and helpful talking to me and explaining it to my family because they made me so sleepy. About a year after surgery I developed some unusual scar tissue that caused a bowl blockage and emergency surgery. Dr. Icaza came in the middle of the night to do my surgery during the COVID pandemic. I was alone and scared but was so kind and once again made me feel so comfortable. Again, him and his team have been a huge blessing in my life! Sitting in his waiting room I’ve talked to many patients whose lives have been positively impacted by his care.
