Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q

We were driving on the interstate and intentionally stopped here to try the bbq. Loved the white sauce, that’s different from what we are used to. I tried the chicken and the brisket. Would definitely recommend the brisket and the coconut pie. Can’t wait to stop in again next time I’m around the area.

Some of the best BBQ chicken and pulled pork I've ever had. The white sauce is the real deal; we bought a bottle to take home and I wish I'd bought more. The sides were also amazing. The potato salad and mac & cheese were top notch.

I’ve had this place on my list for a while now and was finally able to stop in. The chicken with Alabama white sauce lived up to the hype for me. I also had brisket which was excellent. Service was quick and friendly, my meal was out in a short time despite them being busy during lunch. I’d also recommended trying a dessert; the lemon meringue pie I had was a terrific finish to the meal.

The pork loaded baked potato was very large and delicious. The brisket and mac and cheese were delicious too. Save room for the homemade pies. The coconut cream and peanut butter pies were both delicious. The service was excellent, and the waitress keep our glasses filled even though we were thirsty and drank a lot. Excellent experience.

This was AMAZING!! Best food, unbelievably great service, the BEST BBQ I've had in years. People here were so friendly. A woman in line to be seated told me to make sure and try the white sauce, I did and even bought a bottle to take home. The awards they have they have earned. If you haven't been here it's worth the trip!!!

This place is legit, some of the best barbecue I've ever had in the South. You'll find nothing this finger licking delicious at a chain restaurant.

We live quite a bit away, so only get to Big Bob's a couple times a year, but always enjoy. Have never been disappointed. It's a simple diner atmosphere, very friendly & dependable good food. The mac & cheese is awesome!

This was by far THE BEST stop on the North Alabama BBQ Tour. Do NOT miss this one. The BBQ loaded baked potato was amazing, and the wings were the best my husband has had. The service is also fabulous. Our waitress, Chloe, was great, and we enjoyed talking with her about the local BBQ! Save room for pie because they’re truly delicious. Also, be sure to grab some of their famous white sauce to go. I wish I could bring Big Bob Gibson’s to West Virginia!!

Pork platter is the way to go. Two sides and a roll. I was just so impressed with the food and the price. Less than $10 for plenty of food and probably the best pulled pork I have ever had. Baked beans and potato salad were excellent as well. Food came out in like 5 min. Ambiance is heavy 1970’s fancy but I kind of liked it. Can’t say enough good things…

Grabbed lunch on parade day in Decatur. Couldn’t have been better. Short wait when we arrived. I got unsweetened tea with Lil Bob Sampler and my wife got loaded potato and brisket platter. Loaded potato is a meal in itself. Chicken and brisket were amazing. Turkey was very good too. Greens were the best i have ever had. Must try.

BBQ Nachos we're great ... usually get pork or chicken plate but tried the Nachos....little "tite" on the toppings though....

Went back two more times January of 2024.....both times excellent service and food....got the 4 rib plate with two sides the last time really a great meal👍

We ate at 2 other places while we stayed in Decatur, I don't remember the other places, if you like BBQ this is a must stop, we got a variation of food. It was all gone at meals end. I remember the Loaded Baked Potato being something to behold. The BBQ sauce is award winning and it was well worth the stop.

Everything is always delicious!
We always have to stop by when we are traveling to or from Huntsville.
The meat is fresh, the staff is friendly, and they have some amazing desserts.
I usually go for the loaded baked potato or turkey sandwich.
Definitely recommended.

What a great stop! This place lived up to its high ratings. BBG BQ was outstanding- I had their award-winning ribs and pulled pork, along with a piece of peanut butter pie to top off the meal. The service was fast and attentive - great job Amanda! I'd highly recommend this place for anyone passing through North Alabama.

I've lived in Huntsville for 15 years, and today was my first visit to Big Bob Gibson BBQ. The rumors are true. This place is legit! We got the Pitroom Feast so we could sample several things. It's all good, but the brisket was our favorite. I like the habanero sauce. It's sweet, and I'm a sweet sauce kinda guy. The lemon ice box and pecan pies are also really good. Our food came out super fast, and the service was exceptional! We will definitely be back.

We ordered the Big Bob Combo plate with an additional meat! 🍖 🍗🥬🧀🍽🤤 Man that was some good food and some great service. We now have our go to place in Decatur (I’m from Huntsville). The ribs had a sweet smoke taste all the way through it and it was tender. The Beef Brisket was tender, the Smoked Chicken had white sauce all over it, the Mac and Cheese was that Mac and Cheese that you want every restaurant to have and the veggies were good too! Our waitress was attentive and didn’t forget anything. I will return for seconds!

BBQ Baked Potato is phenomenal, food is amazing for a great price. Worth making a trip to Decatur.
