Sonesta ES Suites Charleston

My husband and I were passing through Charleston and spent a night at the Sonesta ES Suites. What a delightful stay!
The hotel is located in a lovely spot, up in the hills outside of town in a wooded area. It is in a business park away from major traffic patterns and is very quiet. We saw deer driving to and from the property multiple times during our stay. It was easy to get back and forth from the State Capitol area of downtown.
We were provided with a wonderful suite that was very spacious and modern. It was very clean, with a full kitchen area and bistro table for two, a large bathroom, a sitting area with sectional and office desk, and a separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed and pillows.
All the staff was very friendly and happy to help in any way they could. (Thank you for the shower cap!) Special thanks to Katie for being so nice and answering all my questions when I made our reservation!
There is a complimentary full breakfast with many hot and cold options (including a pancake machine!) and plenty to choose from.
The fitness room was appropriately outfitted and good to use after a full day on the road.
The layout of the property is amenable to those desiring ground-floor lodging access, with multiple keyed doors so that your car can be close for load in and load out.
It’s great value for a good night’s sleep! Thank you for a very restful stay in a beautiful environment!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sonesta ES. Our room was surprisingly spacious. The bed & pillows were great, and the shower was one of the best we've had in a hotel.
The staff was very friendly & professional, and the free hot breakfast was better than average. Loved that on Thurs morning they had all the fixins' for make-your-own breakfast tacos.
The hotel can be a little hard to find once you turn onto Dietrich St ... need to watch closely for the entrance on the right to the pkg lot ... very hard to see it at night.
Otherwise, great place & will stay there again when in Charleston.

I booked a 5 night stay here. I was not happy with the room we were given. Not sure if housekeeping was rushed that day or what but, I let the night manager (Phil) know and he immediately, and apologetically moved us to a different room. I grew up here, I how long this building has been around. Yes, the rooms are a little outdated (but they are very well priced), and they supply you with everything you need. Also, the people are very friendly and hospitable.

We were traveling by car from Washington DC to Louisville. I had a stopover along the way, and late check-in was also possible. The accommodation was perfect. Parking was also convenient. Next time I come, I want to come again. thank you.❤ 감사합니다❤ -from south korea travelers

Beyond Impressed With This Establishment!!!!! This was the first time here and last time we were in the Charleston area we stayed at a few not so good hotels and told ourselves we would just try not to stay in this area again,But To Our Surprise!!!!!

Beautiful and nice area with pretty views. You can easily get lost in this maze of small indoor homes. So remember your rights and lefts.

They charge $75 for a pet fee which I thought was awfully high. I was just there the one night but the hotel was very clean and good service and an excellent breakfast in the morning.

We visited this hotel over the weekend and found it incredibly hospitable. The staff was fantastic, the rooms was amazingly spacious and even featured a full sized kitchen with oven and full sized fridge. The pricing for our accommodation was excellent and I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel. We only stayed one night, but loved the room layout of the suite and the grounds were very pretty. Nice staff. Great breakfast. Also loved the self checkout snack items area. And pet friendly on top of it. Could easily stay several days at this hotel very comfortably with the size of the kitchen and space of the rooms and available amenities.

The Sonesta ES Suites line of hotels is one of the best for having rooms that accommodate families. I've found that it's always consistent, but this is the best one we have ever stayed in. The rooms are nice and up to date. You get a full stove, fridge, freezer with ice maker, separate bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a nice living area. The rooms are clean and up to date with fireplaces in the living rooms. They run on a timer so no worries about accidentally leaving it on.

There's a nice hotel breakfast every morning with hot options like breakfast sandwiches and breakfast burritos along with toast, bagels, large variety of cereals, hard boiled eggs, and so much more.

What makes this place amazing is the incredibly friendly and kind staff. They are accommodating and go out of their way to make the experience absolutely the best.

The location is great too. Close to I-77, I-79, and I-64. It's easy to get anywhere from downtown Charleston all the way to Buckhannon.

I cannot say enough great things about this place and recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay in West Virginia.

Recently moved to Charleston WV and had to stay here for a week until we could find permanent housing. Rooms are super clean, big, and its great they have a little kitchenette in them. 101 has a stove even!! Front desk staff was all super friendly and wonderful to deal with. Also pet friendly. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

My husband and I used our sky miles to book a pet friendly room here and we were not only a little apprehensive because usually when you find a place that is willing to accept sky miles you're not too sure about what you're going to get but the Sonesta ES Suites Charleston was above and beyond what we expected. My husband went in and asked if we needed to pay an upcharge to bring the pets in but not only did the nice man at the front desk say "no upcharge" they even had a jar on the counter with dog biscuits in it!! We knew we were in our home away from home!! Thanks Sonesta!!

Only been there once in my life but it may have been 1 of the nicest places I ever rented a room at. Very clean and tidy I have to say. My room had an amazingly comfortable bed with a couch and loveseat. Also came with a kitchen with stove, microwave and dishwasher. Never had a room with all those! I'll definitely go back there again!

This place was amazing. The room was clean and huge as well as stocked with dishes and anything you may need to use in the kitchen. It had a huge fridge and a dishwasher. The bathroom was clean and the shower pressure was great. (Small dip in the middle of the shower but didn't affect anything.) They bed was so comfortable and the TV swivels so you can watch on the couch or in bed. We even had a fire place and 2 windows with great black out curtains. The lobby had so many food options and even bottles of wine. They had a hot breakfast that we didn't see cuz we slept in but it smelled amazing. 10/10 would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay here. Stayed for 2 nights for a wedding. Breakfast was amazing. Best hotel breakfast we have ever enjoyed. Front desk was very friendly at check-in and even when our room keys were deactivated they were helpful and prompt to fix the problem. Beds were comfortable. Room was spacious and met every need for our family. It was very quiet and relaxing for our stay. If we ever come back to Charleston we will definitely stay here again.

We stayed here over the weekend and this hotel is amazing! It is very clean, kid-friendly. The rooms were big and fully stocked. The room had everything we needed for our stay - including dishes! The staff was so friendly. If I ever travel here again, I will be staying here.

We stayed here during a family emergency. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nice and I felt very comfortable like being at home. The breakfast was a service line grab and go style, but filling and delicious. I would stay here again.

First time staying at this hotel other then the fact it could use updated, very little and that's me being picky, I am a huge fan. The location was great, anywhere you are less then 1-2 miles from a city and feel like your far from it, is as place I'll stay again, and I most definitely will be back. Rooms were bigger then was expecting, the overall hotel itself is a big place and I'm sure there is not a day that someone doesn't get a bit confused and lost, but for me that's a plus I like the big property, maze-like hallways and different building-feel of it. The rooms felt more apartment -luke and more homey then about every other place I've stayed up and that has been many. I could go on bout breakfast or having dishwasher and whole kitchen, or having own bedroom and TV but I don't like doing reviews because I dont enjoy typing on phones, so usually I don't and few I do it's because they stood out, good or bad, and they are short and will continue to be 95% of the time. This was a place that stood out for me greatly because I have stayed in Charleston 100's of time before and never heard of place and wasn't expecting too much since it was so close and fact I've never heard anything about it. But I will most definitely continue to stay there every time I'm down there again and will be super happy and excited to know that I'll be comfortable, safe, close, and relaxed each stay.

Quiet spot up in the hills, yet an easy drive to downtown for dinner and drinks. Overall a clean, nice hotel with welcoming staff. We had a suite that was roomy with a full kitchen. Breakfast was served "covid style" by staff. Had hot foods and continental items, as well. We'll definitely stay again!

Enjoy this place if you have a large group hanging out in one room. Plenty of seating and the 2 bedrooms are so convenient. The tools are baby/toddler safe. They can explore with no worry. The added breakfast is nice. I wish the price was slightly lower but you get what you pay for I suppose. Will be back again next year for my birthday. 😄
