Had this place on my bucket list. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich 🥪 w/Mac n cheese and my custom favorite drink. The sandwich was good but the mac n cheese wasn’t freshly hot and the taste didn’t do it for me honestly it was just bland no wow factor to it or nothing that separates them from the rest of the restaurants who serves Mac n cheese. The banana 🍌 pudding wasn’t worth $5 complete horrible in my opinion. Chicken 🍗 leg n thigh was good. String beans was good.
Overall good experience dining in, clean restaurant. Will be back to try other options.

This brisket place is an absolute gem! Definitely one of the best in Raleigh. The brisket is incredibly tender, bursting with smoky flavor, and the sides are a perfect complement. The friendly staff and cozy ambiance make it a top-notch dining experience. A must-visit for barbecue lovers!

I was visiting Raleigh from Maryland this week and my daughters took me to this wonderful barbecue restaurant twice in one week. We loved the chicken wings, so delicious. My daughters ordered the pork ribs and the pulled pork. They enjoyed the ribs. The side dishes were delicious. We had the mac and cheese, coleslaw, hush puppies, the green beans, the baked beans, fries, hush puppies, and fried okra. All the sides were authentic country style.The friendliness of the owner and the staff was the icing on the cake. When we left, the owner asked what we loved most so he gifted us a bag with more chicken wings, coleslaw, and banana pudding, since I told him they were my favorite.I have never been to a restaurant where the owner sends an entire free meal home with us. His hospitality made me want to return to Raleigh for mmore barbecue!

Great experience. The brisket was great, and they have the best fried okra and hushpuppies I've ever had. Finish with the banana pudding, you won't be sorry. Reasonably priced, too. We'll be back.

Best BBQ in the Capitol city of a dedicated BBQ state?-how ironic. This national chain that started in Ohio offers great Q at a good value. An oddity of getting great BBQ in Raleigh is how hard it is to find. Lots of mediocre stuff. We avoided this place for a long time because of origins and the fact that it is a chain. Now it's our go to spot for Q. Great smoky flavor. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Hand cut fries, tender and thin batter around fried okra. Highly recommended.

First time visiting and happy with the choice. I had the two sweet bbq sandwiches with Mac n cheese on the side. Great meat and taste. Loved all the different bbq sauces etc. Fun atmosphere and love their patio! Highly recommend this for an affordable bbq place

Some of the best bbq corn pudding and banana pudding I’ve ever had! Awesome place you need to try if your traveling through Raleigh!

Went to one of these in Clayton/Garner area years ago -- so we stopped here for a birthday celebration. Staff was so kind and helpful ☺. The barbecue brisket was delicious and we bought many sides and desert. It was a wonderful experience. We have of course been back there. Last time we visited they gave us free desert. Wow! Highly recommended restaurant.

Bring on the hungry kids!! This place is like Christmas morning for my crew. They beg for the ribs and chicken, mac n' cheese, fries and corn bread. Judge Sampler for $35 delivers it all and more. Probably the best bang for the buck, crowd pleaser in Raleigh! We will be back soon.....

Since I don't eat a lot of meat, you may be surprised how much I enjoyed City BBQ! It was delicious! We got the city sampler and shared it between the two of us. The brisket, sausage link, turkey and pulled pork. All of them were perfectly cooked, tender, juicy and great with the sauces. My favorite sauce was the mustard, followed by the vinegar. The potato salad is also excellent. I would go back next time I'm in the area!

I moved down here 2yr ago. I live right on litchford and can't believe I slept on this spot for so long. I stopped by for the first time for a quick lunch with my brother and everything we ordered was excellent, particularly the Lolo's pulled pork sandwich which was 9/10. Original and Sweet BBQ both delicious. Only complaint- the cornbread was mediocre, a little dry, with a mild smokey flavor that I didn't particularly care for. I'll definitely be stopping here regularly moving forward.

Speaking as a mid-level barbeque afficionado (with no strong regional preference), my partner and I found this restaurant to exceed our expectations. We ordered the Judge's Sampler, green beans, fried okra, two unsweetened teas, and two desserts (chocolate cake and banana pudding). Every single meat item was delicious and juicy, which is a challenge to do for chicken, but they pulled it off. The meat on the brisket and ribs easily came off the bone and were seasoned perfectly, not requiring any additional sauce. (I have a preference for spicier sauces but their tangy one fit the bill nicely.) The place was clean, open, and fun. The staff were all helpful and had a smooth operation. We especially like how they support local charities with some of the order revenue occasionally helping them out. We look forward to eating here again.

For such a large place, they really have their act together! Food was ready in minutes.
I had the pork sandwich, fried okra, Mac and cheese and we split a basket of fries.
Meat was very well smoked and I am picky about the meat. The okra tasted like it was picked and fried today and the Mac and cheese was out of this world! Fries reminded me of one of my favs from many years ago.
Everyone was super nice and the dining area large and clean.
My wife and I visit the area twice a year and this definitely will be a stop we make each time!

First time trying City BBQ in this area. I ordered online and picked up. My order had a few items missing and the store was closing. The manager, JoJo, was very apologetic and made it right the next day. I appreciate the hospitality received and the extent the manager went to go above and beyond to correct the mistake.

Came here for the Veterans day promotion, thanks a lot for that. Got the pulled pork sandwich, it was great. Left the place with another $60 in food including pulled pork, brisket, hush puppies, corn pudding, corn bread, and BBQ beans. All excellent. Will come back soon.

I came across this place last night with my husband. Food was amazing but customer service was on point. Dulce made me feel right at home and was very Patient with me since I had never been here. Being a restaurant owner myself I was very impressed with the food and service that we drove 30 minutes back tonight. Dulce was here again greeting us with a smile. We have definitely found a sweet spot and will definitely be a regular.

Been a while since I had been to this location but I must say service was night and day from previous visits. Not that it was particularly bad before, but whoever is managing or shift managing now seems to have much more of a focus on customer service, which is the entire name of the game. Manager that night made sure, what I'm assuming was a newer employee, made sure to give me one of the bigger to go sauce containers, instead of the small cups, since I had ordered a pound of meat.

This is the BEST BBQ place in Raleigh! The brisket was tender, juicy and well seasoned. My experience was a 10/10 and I will definitely be back! Thanks for your service!

We look forward to our monthly meeting held at your North Raleigh location. The food is truly amazing, always hot and fresh. The service is second to none. Friendly and enviting every single visit. And the cleanliness is far above average. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys Bbq.
