China Star

I love this place. My family and I have gone here for years. I have had catering, take-out, dine-in, and even door dash from this place since 2018! They have the same cook every time, so the food is always consistent and super flavorful. Not to mention, the restaurant is extremely clean. I have yet to find anywhere else as clean as this place. To my family and me, cleanliness is a top priority, so we are glad to have found this gem! I will admit that I have seen price changes, but with the recent spike in inflation, it's to be expected. Like please name one place that has not had a price increase. In my opinion, I will always rather spend my money at any place that has the quality and is worth the price. I have also included pictures of my orders from my past few visits!

Food was plentiful. Ordered some changes and order was completed as ordered. Great flavor to food. Jumbo shrimp in my order. This is the large shrimp with Chinese vegetables for $10.95. Comes with white rice. Also ordered an egg roll and a large egg drop wonton soup. All very good. Under $20!! Will last me 2 or 3 meals on the main dish and soup.

I was upset after receiving my food from DoorDash without the usual sauces (duck, soy, etc) After I calmed down and went back into the menu, I realized that DoorDash charges 20 cents a packet!!! My irritation is not with China Star. Their food continues to be the best Chinese food around.

We were in the mood for Chinese food, but the options close to home aren't too our liking, so we searched farther and found China Star. The food (honey garlic chicken and chicken with cashew nuts) was exactly what we were looking for. The price was reasonable. I had read about the 4% surcharge on credit card orders so I was prepared for it. I didn't see it posted anywhere by the register or on the menu, which it should be. Frankly, the prices are so reasonable, they could just add it to the price of food and no one would know they were paying the surcharge.

This is the Chinese spot you should try if you’re looking for a good one. I’ve ordered several times in the past few weeks and the food has consistently been good. Their egg rolls are amazing. They put some kind of seasoning on the cabbage that makes it pop with flavor. I’ve never tasted an egg roll like that. Their egg rolls don’t compare to the others around. This place is worth a try. And try their egg rolls.

I must say…CHINA STAR IS THE BEST CHINESE FOOD PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!
I only eat certain limited items when it comes to Chinese food so I seldom change up restaurants. I have my places from state to state, but it’s going to be hard to eat Chinese now outside of Raleigh.
So my coworker had been going on and on about this place so today I finally decided to try. I ordered the hot and spicy shrimp and scallop lo mein. The shrimp and scallops were perfectly seared…the onions, broccoli and mushrooms were so crisp and fresh! Either the chef was having a great day? Or he can just flat out cook! Either way, China Star is the ONLY place I’m going to for Chinese…PERIOD! And I don’t normally leave reviews…last time was in 2016 for a seafood joint in Durham. I was moved…It took four years to be MOVED again by this eastern soul food. China Star is definitely where it’s at when it comes to Chinese food! Try it or DIE!!!

Wow! After reading all the Google reviews regarding China star, I had to try it. Needless to say there are no words to describe the feeling I had enjoying one of my favorite Chinese dishes fixed to perfection, hot and spicy! I couldn't believe my eyes when Amy placed the scrumptious meal in front of me. Naturally, I ate the whole meal and the vegetables were el Dante. I spoke to Amy the friendly owner and she pointed over to the cook, her husband. I finally found a Chinese restaurant that was clean and pleasant atmosphere. I can't wait for my next meal there. What are you waiting for? Go ahead and try it! 👍😊👍

upon my first visit over two years ago. Here we are, over two years later and they are still on the top of my Chinese favorite restaurants list for in dining or take out! They have worked hard to maintain their reputation of cleanliness and the best of Chinese meals! I have not gone to any other Chinese restaurant which would be a waste of time!!! I prefer the tried and true!

Fresh food and friendly service! 1st visit and won't be the last. Enjoyed the Chicken & Broccoli lunch combo with an egg roll...best egg roll I've ever had, super fresh! Sorry no picture, but it looked good and tasted great, and the seating available was clean and the environment was comfortable to enjoy a nice lunch break. It's also in a convenient one stop shop area with a CVS in walking distance, next to a gas station, and a mini shopping center. Hope to enjoy again soon! :)

I absolutely love this place and get takeout from here more than I’m willing to admit! I usually always get the sesame chicken combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll. The egg roll is so crispy and the flavor is unmatched! Sesame chicken and rice is amazing as well. I like that the chicken doesn’t ever have any hard gristle pieces that other takeout Chinese places sometimes do. I have also had their fried dumplings, shrimp lo mein, and crab rangoons! All SO good. The family that owns this place is always so kind and inviting, especially the young woman that works the phone and register. Highly recommend this hidden gem takeout spot if you are in the mood for some delicious, authentic, inexpensive, fast Chinese food.

This is the best to-go Chinese restaurant in the area. I always order on the phone and when i get there my food is always read and hot. It is family owned so I have th confidence that the owners really care about the business and the satisfaction of their customers. On the other hand, I went to the taste of china and I could immediately tell that the employees didn't care about the quality of food and service and it shows in their health rating. their health rating was i think an 86. I used to work in the food industry and it takes SO MUCH to lose 14 points on a health inspection. Every point is something that is dirty, undercooked, or spoiled. I would not want to eat at a place where there are so many things wrong with the food and the restaurant. Thats why i go to China Star. their service is always great as well as their food.

Frist time trying this place and definitely recommend and will be back. Hot and spicy beef. Very good. Chicken garlic sauce was good. Chicken mei fun was cooked well and delicious. Shrimp egg rolls were ok but I prefer spring rolls.

Been looking for a good Chinese restaurant for a long time and I found this one. Really clean and the food is super good. They give out large portions for a low price. I'm very satisfied. I used to go to Taste of China, a Chinese restaurant very close to them but they didn't have the good customer service as what this chinese restaurant does. I'm writing this review to recommend others to come and give them a try.

Family owned restaurant. They are always pleasant and their place is always clean. Foood is very good and always fresh. Price is good and the portions are great. They greet you as you walk in. Since finding them by chance, I only eat there.

don't let the exterior fool you! its located between a gass station and a piza hut. the parking lot is full of trash but inside is spotless. one of the cleanest kitchens ive seen. they scored a 98.5 on their most recent health inspection. the food came out fast and hot, and it is the best Chinese food ive had in north carolina

THE BEST UNKNOWN PLACE IN RLAEIGH. Not only is their food amazing and made fresh all day but their customer service is outstanding!! I never leave there without a smile and some amazing food! Their potstickers are beyond compare.

We drive FAR to eat here..consistently GREAT food… Friendly! We came the other night and they were experiencing a power outage! The food was still excellent! EAT HERE!

The food is great here! And the people are extremely nice. They went totally out of their way last night to accommodate me. I will be a long lasting customer!
