Southern Wind Animal Hospital

We have been with Southern Wind Animal Hospital for many years now and they are the best at what they do for our pets. Dr Nick and his staff were extremely supportive when we had to put our cat Peanut down. They are truly amazing.

Best vet ever! Dr. Nick is so sweet with my kitty and communicates every detail with you. The techs are also super sweet and gentle, especially the one with curly hair, she was so nice. One thing I appreciate is how up front they are with pricing. Before doing anything, the doctor has the tech come in and tell you how much $ every option is, and you can make decisions from there. They are extremely affordable compared to other vets I have been to. I have been discouraged in the past from taking my baby to the dr because of how high the bill is to even examine her, let alone treat her. I feel so much more confident going to the vet knowing that they value my pet’s well being over $$$. Thank you for treating my pet so graciously!

Great caring vet and staff. Very, very reasonably priced. They do not overcharge. I used to go to a vet that was 3x as much and not as knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Recently moved to Palm coast and needed a vet for out 4 year old lab. As a recommendation from a neighbor went to Southern wind and couldn’t be happier. Staff was outstanding and Dr Nick was awesome. Highly recommend them….

Yesterday was our first visit and the entire staff was great! Dr. Nick was so great with our new puppy, making him feel safe and loved. He even examined him right on the floor which made him feel even more comfortable. We love Southern Wind Animal Hospital!

Stella, our Morkie Poo, is new to Dr Nick’s practice. Unable to get into see her regular Vet I called the vet my neighbor uses, Dr Nick. I was pleasantly shocked to find she could be seen that day! I needed a visit ASAP. He and the staff were and are so kind and attentive to both of us. It is very evident he cares about the health and well-being of his patients. Since that first appointment I decided to have Southern Wind as her Primary Veterinarian.
Dr Nick’s practice is unlike any I have been to. The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing. He has leather sofas in the waiting area as well as each exam room! No hard benches or uncomfortable plastic chairs to sit on.

Dr. Nick is kind and loves all his patients. I'm blessed to have found them to care for my fur babies.

Southern Wind was a God send for us when we were in town for the week. Our dog needed an urgent care visit, and after being turned away from a dozen other vets in the area, they told us to come immediately and saw him right away. The staff there are so friendly and welcoming. The setup is perfectly fear free for pets. The Dr. was amazing. He was very down to earth and took his time in making sure our boy was comfortable before and during the exam. We got the bill at the end and it was a FRACTION of what we expected. I seriously couldn't recommend this place more for staff and setup alone, but the price was astonishingly low too. I only wish we lived nearby so that we could go there permanently. Thank you Southern Wind! We are on our way home and our boy is feeling much better now.

Dr.Nick and his staff are the best! They’re very caring and thorough and my dogs love them.

Visited for the first time, they got my cat in same day. Diagnosed and treated and 2 days later she’s feeling much better. Staff were kind and caring and facility was clean. Definitely recommend

I first came across Southern Wind Animal Hospital when I was looking into visiting a local clinic for my senior cat. Booking the appointment was simple, and when the day came when we had to come in, we were greeted by one of the staff who helped see us in. The atmosphere was soothing, and not at all stressful for my pet, which helps so much with the whole process.

We were brought into one of the rooms, where we answered the necessary information and later met Dr. Nick. I have no words at how brilliant he is, and how professional he treats his patients. He’s patient, understanding, and is willing to listen to whatever questions you have. He offers honest advice, and I’ve never really met someone as sincere as him before. He’s gentle with the pets, when giving the exam and handling them afterwards, and I’m very grateful for everything he’s done for us.

I'd 100% recommend this vet because it is worth the visit. The prices are surprisingly low despite the wonderful care and attention the staff/vet give to the pets, and I really appreciate everything, once again. Reach out, you won’t regret it!

Dr. Nick is amazing! I am new to the area and I have a temperamental chiweenie that I’m always nervous to take to the vet, Dr. Nick handled it so well and took great care of my little guy. I have found my forever vet!

We took our 14 year old dachshund in for an exam thinking she needed her two front teeth extracted. We were greeted with a smile and a great attitude. After a brief intake process our dog was examined by Dr. Nick. He determined quickly that the teeth were in great shape, especially for our dog’s age. He did not recommend doing the blood work or dental work because he did not think it was necessary at this time. The honesty was exactly what we needed and very much appreciated.

We had a very bad experience previously at a veterinarian office in Jacksonville where multiple teeth were extracted prematurely from each of our other two dogs. We left with the impression today that everyone at Southern Wind is genuine, honest and caring.

They have a clean and stylish office with modern equipment, but the best part is the people. Be sure to stop in or give them a call if you need veterinarian services.

I absolutely love coming to this office. The staff is so kind, and they really work hard to create a comfortable and calming environment for the patients. This is also one of the few places that has individual waiting rooms which is perfect for my very anxious pup. The vet himself and the whole staff was excellent in working with my dog; I'm grateful to have a practice that I can continue to bring my good boy to. A+

My daughter’s cat suddenly turned very ill. Even though they were very busy, they fit her in. They were up front about their pricing, which I found to be reasonable. Unfortunately our kitty’s cancer has spread to her lungs and we had to have her euthanized. They were very respectful and compassionate giving us time this say goodbye. That even sent us a card of condolence.

We have been patients of Dr. Nick for many years and I can’t say enough amazing things about him, his staff and the great people who work with them. Dr. Nick has handled emergencies as well as the daily well being of my pups and he has always always been very knowledgeable, professional and extremely reliable. One of my favorite things is he always adds a tiny dash of humor when it’s appropriate and that can be a much welcomed and needed stress relief. I am eternally thankful to this wonderful vet for all he has done for my babies now and in the past 20 years. Our family love you guys so much!!!! I trust no one else with my babies. Even when our 17 year old was sick with cushings and diabetes Dr. Nick gave me honest advice and saved Codi more than once. He truly cares about your pets the same way you do and he will do everything in his power to make them better. And he is HONEST which I cannot say enough how much I appreciate. Dr. Nick Avis is THE ONLY vet I will ever go to. We love you Dr. Nick and Kat!!!!!

This vet office is an absolute hidden gem. They take their time caring for your animals and really care. We had an emergency with our little aussie and we rushed her there with almost no notice and they were so kind and thoughtful. They absolutely could have charged us too much but they didnt! I was shocked! Absolutely a stand up vet and an all around great place to take your animals. I cannot recommend enough!

What a great experience with this office! We needed someone to lay hands and eyes on our labradoodle Pearl when visiting the area and were able to get in quickly for an urgent care visit. Prices reasonable and care for both Pearl and me excellent.
