Flagler Open Arms Recovery Services

I was feeling lost after moving to Palm Coast having no resources or network. One day right after praying for some help and guidance, Matt Hellsten literally showed up at my front door. It was truly an answer to my prayers. It's so nice to have someone and somewhere I can turn to as I'm finding my path in Flagler.

Flagler OARS had helped so much since I began peer services through them. I have been getting services for a while now and have formed such a bond with everyone there! I especially want to give a shout out to Matt and Tamira for being AWESOME peers, and for going above and beyond to help me in any way!!!!

Oars saved my life hands down! If you need help with addiction and you don’t utilize Oars your selling your recovery short! Peer help was essential to my recovery because they have been there done hat and recovered and I wanted what they had!! Now I’m 10 months clean and ready to live the rest of my life happy and free from drugs and alcohol to hanks to them!

I gotta say , if you're looking for a safe space and no judgement zone I'd say it's at Flagler oars . I've met some down to earth peer counselors , that never judge me , always uplifted me , and continues to help me thrive . Tamara, Hope , and Matt are definitely beautiful people here helping others to feel healed and whole again. Check them out when you need a helping hand and all it takes is one 🌟

I LOVE OARS🚣‍♀!! I went to inpatient rehab 💊💉twice at Project WARM aka Vince Carter Sanctuary recently since COVID and both times 🎓👩‍🎓OARS 🚣‍♀was there faithfully(I see you Matt💪) 2 or more times a week offering services, behavioral therapy, interactive journaling📝, occupational Q&A with every career path 👩‍🎨you could think of, and peer group led 🫂support, free bikes🚲 for graduates, housing help🏠, funding for sober living(referred to CARES)💵, the list goes on! Since graduating WARM, I got into an Oxford help thanks to OARS in Flagler county and I now received housing support, peer led support with Tamara🦋(who is absolutely amazing) and they have just been with me every step of the way. Celebrating getting my license back🪪, getting a car🚘, trying to get my car fixed(⚒🧰lol🥴), getting a job🥳, rent assistance 🏡you name it. Having this support is guaranteeing my success.🥇 I didn't have this support before, and I failed quickly🤦. I'm so glad I ended up moving to Palm Coast 🌴🏖and am getting to see Tamara 🦋and Matt 💪every week and even Tamara's daughter Jaysonah/Jay🩰(probably butchered the spelling😂) who did my intake, she was soooooo sweet and caring. I'm so glad they are doing life with me. It makes the setups and hangups doable and I'm able to size them down instead of blow them up in my mind (the hardships lol) Thank you OARS. Hope is amazing!!! Her wealth of knowledge is incredible. Not only is she knowledgeable, she’s very informative. Very creative how she transfers her knowledge, so a person like me can understand. I will now take this foundation and build upon it!

OARS is a blessing to have in our community of Palm Coast, FL. The resources they provide to others are unbelievable, and the lives they are saving are priceless. Such an amazing organization and amazing people! Hope worked super hard to get me into treatment and this is the first place I went after I got out and Peer Specialist Matt greeted me with open arms! They put the meaning to the name! Thank you for all you guys do!

Flagler OARS is a non profit that provides free services to the community. They supply narcan as well. I had the privilege of working with them briefly and they are doing great work!!! #recovery #gotnarcan?

I am proud to have had the privilege and pleasure to volunteer at Flagler Oar events. I find the organization motivated and committed to offering recovery services to those in need in a stigma-free environment. A service benefitting the individual, the family and the community.
