A fair and honest sawmill. Kendal is super knowlegable and a great sawyer. Kyle is easy to get ahold of and a reliable sales guy. My shop has worked with K&J for years and plan to continue working with them for years to come. The picture is the last batch of white oak cants we dropped off to have Kendal resaw for us.

Great guys to deal with. The 6 bundles of slabs I got were good variety of sizes (some up to 6 inches+ thick), excellent quality, and work perfectly in my outdoor wood furnace. So pleased we ordered a 2nd batch of 6 bundles!! Could not ask for more...

the wood I purchased from k&j is way better than I had expected. I got some cherry and figured maple.. I am totally blown away. It's like they can see inside a tree. Better than imagined and truly a better deal than you could find anywhere else.

On a friday an hour and twenty minutes south of K&J Lumber I was fortunate to be able to retrieve three large sugar maple logs that I wanted sawn into slabs. With a friend on loan and a 24 hour rental trailer I started at 11:30a.m.for an “easy” two hour job. Leaving Shoreview at FOUR O’clock I called to ask if I could still drop off past closing given my situation. (Not cool on a Friday). Friday northbound traffic got me to K&J at 5:30p.m. (close at 5). Both the OWNER and his right hand man were waiting for me. Unloaded the trailer and all was good. Again, they waited for me.. Service like that is so few and far between these days more than ever. When all others would’ve locked the gate and went home, these two stuck around to help out a customer. 6 stars are necessary for this because true, solid customer service is lost on so many businesses lately. Kudos boys!

K&J is THE spot for kiln dried hardwood if you live in/near the twin cities. Just a quick drive north of the metro, they have quality product at great prices! The guys that work there care about their work and will take great care of you. I’m a furniture maker east of the metro (Ty’s Timber Works) and couldn’t recommend them enough.

Disclaimer, Kendal and Jess are good friends, and I have served them as their realtor for many years. Having said that, Kendal is a solid sawyer. He loves his work, and has built his business using fair and honest business principles. I respect him and his work. When I need specialized lumber, there is no other place I will go.
