Mt. Marquette Overlook

The drive up is steep and fun. This would be an amazing workout as a walk, ruck or run!!

Beautiful, quiet place. Reminds me of similar spots in Maine and New Brunswick. A great spot for a picnic! The view is of course why people drive up the mountain but the vista itself is gorgeous. The rocks are like little turtle shells with blueberries and large pines all around.

It is also a great place to pick up a little piece of Kona Dolomite - be sure to Google what that is!

I loved the car ride up. Lots of mountain bikers and trails. GORGEOUS views and plenty of places to hike, climb and bike. Short trip from anywhere in Marquette, and I noticed a camp ground onsite.

It's a hike, or a bike, or a moon bike, unless you drive of course.... But always worth it! Multiple viewing points, free air, great for pictures anytime of day!

I didn't know about this lookout until a close friend of mine suggested we go. It turned out to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. You can see the entirety of downtown Marquette—it was fun to watch the stoplights turn from blinking to solid at 6:30am. It's crazy how high up you are compared to everything else, and that also makes it the perfect sunrise spot. I've watched the sunrise over Lake Superior a few times, but in terms of best locations to do so, this one easily takes the cake. It seems to be one of those places tucked away so that even some locals don't know about it. So beautiful, certainly recommend

What a spectacular view of Marquette. We did the mount Marquette loop, which included a side trip to this overlook. So worth the hike! You could see up to little presque and beyond. It also seems like you can drive up, but I’m not sure how that would work…

Amazing view of all of Marquette, and the brightest colors this time of year. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Very scenic overlook of Lake Superior. Easy parking and not far to walk. My 86 year old mom was able to do it with a slight pull and push up a couple steps, but she did it. My nephew got a couple beautiful shots with his drone, but unfortunately I didn't have those to share.

Great view of Marquette! Do not follow Google maps directions. They take you to the exit of the one way road. Be prepared for an 11% grade along the way. The road is well maintained. Enter off Cliff Power Rd from S Front St

Wow! That was amazing. Can drive up to it. Dirt road but crazy uphill grades. Car can make it up. But I’d suggest a SUV or Truck. Definitely go. The overlook of Marquette is breathtaking. Very happy I did it.

The view was fantastic. There was an ore boat on Lake Superior and it looked like a toy. I met a wonderful couple with their dog. I was filled with a sense of peace and gratitude. And it was an awesome place to test out Google cardboard.

It's definitely worth the drive up here. Amazing view and it's not a busy place. Thought the bike trails were pretty cool if you have the ambition!

Neat little spot to take a break when you are out on the snowmobile trails. Just be careful ridding your sled to the top. Too slow get stuck, too fast go over the other side. Provides a great photo opportunity of downtown Marquette if you do climb to the top.

Very beautiful lookout... pretty steep incline on the one way drive up. Once you get up to the lookout spot there is just a little climb up to the top of the flat boulder rocks that you stand on (flat tops) to over see the town of Marquette. It is very pretty especially with all the fall foliage right now.

It’s slightly scary getting to the top of the mountain with the steep hills. The views are beautiful and worth it! Google Maps will say you can take the front way by Lake Superior or a back way. You can’t actually take the back way since it’s a one way road (you’ll see why).

I walked up instead of driving. A nice work out and good views along the way and at the overlook.

Just south of the city of Marquette, you enter the road to the Mt. Marquette Overlook area off S Front St. Turn right onto Cliff Power Rd, and then immediately turn left onto the Mt. Marquette Loop.

It was a great lookout the road is a bit rough but my car (V8 Sedan) handled it quite good

From what I could see the views would be amazing. Unfortunately only saw a very small view due to limited mobility.
