We love the area, during the winter they put a Lazer light show on the Oardock with a radio station app playing music

Just a site to see. Quite a magnificent structure. Easy to get to. Parking lot right in front. Many people take pictures here. There was a couple getting wedding photos done when I was there.

Such a cool structure. Drive down by Marquette to see the active Ore Dock. This one is so cool to see though.

A great look into the past. Crazy to imagine that the railroad tracks were that high and went right through Marquette from the iron mines to dump the iron ore into the holding pockets until the old schooners were in place to receive the ore. There are historical plaques nearby to explain how it looked and how it was done. There is a lot of history in the area and plenty of adventures waiting just for you!

Such a cool place. Loved the history and just seeing it. Very unique and I don't know if it is true but they may be tearing this down.

Amazing what man and woman can accomplish, I think it was built in 1920s and has received coal and sent back iron ore. I was not fortune enough to get to see the operations in effect but I loved it anyway.

This place is so intriguing. The structure is so huge and intimidating that you just sit and watch it for hours like some sci-fi movie. Lot of restaurants at the place so food wont be any issue.

I couldn't find a plaque that explained the history of the oredock so we just googled it but it is cool to see a piece of history that once was in Marquette.

A stunning monolith— a gateway to Superior. Between dawn and dusk, anytime of year, it would be worth stopping for a few minutes to marvel at its scope and beauty. I love the way nature is slowly reclaiming her. A Marquette must— even for us natives.

Nice harbor with the old iron ore loading house. Not used since 1971. Marquette is a good size town.

Very erie and yet very cool. If you enjoy architectural photography, you have to shoot this thing. It is a dark, imposing structure with amazing character. Worth a side trip.
