Excellent museum for all ages. The Ojibwa exhibits are very good and show an vast array of Native American arts and crafts. The history of early settlers and mining in the area is nicely featured with many original artifacts. I like the section on the midwife who served the area and they the display of her bear fur coat and how she took care of the women in the town. There is a separate hall that features the historical clothing worn by early settlers that is nicely done. Beautiful and clean facility and gift shop.

A wonderful museum dedicated to the UP as a whole as well as much more specifically the Marquette region. From Ice Age to Modern Age and all key points in-between this place is a delight. Wonderful gift shop. So cheap to get in it's impossible to not donate or pick up a souvenir or piece of local art.

For such a small center, there sure is a lot to look at and learn about! The exhibits are well made and appealing. It takes about 2 hours to go through if you also go through the temporary exhibit. I learned a lot about the history and geography of Marquette! I recommend this place to families with and without children. There's so much to learn!

Great local museum. The space itself is not large compared to some museums but it is really full of artifacts and there is much to read. I believe children could also find things to enjoy because some of the exhibits are recreations to view that require no reading to appreciate. There are also audio-visual components. I would recommend to visitors to Marquette to appreciate the history of this place.

Perfect activity for a rainy day! We spent 2-3 hours here. There’s so much information in the main exhibit. You’ll learn about everything from the geology to the human history of the area. Very reasonable ticket prices too! If you enjoy museums make sure to check this one out!

Worth the time and the small cost of admission. We learned some good Upper Michigan history and war history. We were in there 4 hours today and would come back to read and learn more.

We are history buffs and this is a top museum! Some amazing curation and a fresh and interesting approach. We actually went back because it took a lot more time than we thought a little town museum would require. Can't say enough good things about how well they covered ancient history of the first inhabitants to the inventions that came from Marquette in the last century. There were four of us, ranging from 30-70, and we all were super impressed and checked out every portion of the museum. We liked the late hours on Wednesday, the cute gift shop and they had a live speaker showing slides on flat screen TV's and signing books when we left for dinner reservations --or we would have stayed. A+.

Great local museum with enough "fun" exhibits to keep kids entertained while offering some more in-depth history for curious adults. Will take between one to two hours to complete depending on how thoroughly you proceed through the exhibits.

Such a cool museum! The prices are very cheap and the exhibit is high-quality and informative. The usual display is a history of the region from pre-settlement to almost current times. I really enjoyed learning about wigwam building and seeing one of the very first snowmobiles! It may not be as interesting for kids but for adults and maybe teens it is very cool. On special display they had clothes from the past. It was also very interesting. There was a really neat baby's outfit made form a WWI map. Super cool stuff. Highly recommended if you're in town!

If your a history geek, this place is for you. I loved it. My children appreciated the scavenger hunt. It gave mom time to wonder before their questions. Family friendly and would recommend.

Absolutely worth going here for both locals and visitors. Appeals to all ages. This Organization gives a very good history of the area in a single visit. Also, all of the doors have handles for easy opening when entering the building or one of the rooms.

Awesome little spot! Was impressed how well this is kept up and seemed super up-to-date; gave a great overview of the history of Marquette and its people. Could easily spend an hour or more here. The gift shop was great - definitely the best Marquette postcards I saw in town!

Very cool place. A bit smaller compared to some of the museums downstate but it does the job great.

This is a great local museum. Celebrating its 100th birthday this year. Staff and volunteers are friendly and always excited to share information. Great little research library. Interesting exhibits.
