Amazing place. Bar tendress (can't remember her name but she is in nursing school - good luck!) was awesome. Very friendly and welcoming place. Great vibe. Will be back next time I make it up to that neck of the woods.

If you’re looking for that quintessential “dive bar” feel, look no further than the Nickel! It’s a bar with all the essentials, and nothing else. It’s rumored to be the oldest continuously operated bar in Marquette, and it shows that through its rustic nature. There are only a few tables, and the majority of the space is for standing room. About 25% of the floor space is reserved for the pool table, and there’s also outdoor seating if you’re lucky enough to visit in the summer. The drinks are cheap and the fun is grand at the Nickel, so stop by for a pint of you’re looking for the Last of the Originals!

This is the best bar in all of Marquette, I go here all the time. My favorite bartender is Cierra she always has a bright smile and brightens my day when I need a drink. Sometimes it gets extremely busy but the bartenders know how to handle it. The occasional negative reviews are Karen's don't listen to them!!

The Wooden Nickel is the best dive around. The bartenders are always fast and kind and draw in the best crowd. The St. Patty's specials were great, and the bartenders AJ and Cierra handled the St. Pattys crowds like champs! We are lucky to have the Nickel, and the staff who make the Nickel what it is!

My favorite bar in town!! I love how laid back it is here, everyone is so friendly & so are the bartenders. I have so much fun playing cornhole and pool with my friends at the Nickel. Also, the Deluxe Bloody Mary’s are to DIE FOR! 10/10, definitely recommend!

Went here on my 21st birthday and the bartender was super friendly and wished me a happy birthday. My buddies and I had a lot of fun playing pool as well. Hope to come back here in the future when I get the chance

Great drink prices in a laid back atmosphere reminiscent of your local corner bar. Friendly patrons and waitstaff. I always seem to get into great conversation with strangers. Never leave Marquette without stopping into the Nickel!

Back at my alma mater for the first time since 2013 and the Nickel didn’t disappoint. Miranda, JoEllen, and Lily were personable and efficient. Beer was great, bloody Marys even greater, and local clientele made good company.

You need to visit.
It's not what it was years ago. The 70yr old regulars chatting with their college age crowd, while a few guys in business attire, shoot pool and everyone is watching sports or Jepordy. Oh and a huge tequila selection!! 😎

Dude this place is awesome. They had my band come and play, the barkeeps are incredibly cool and intelligent. Meanwhile they upkeep their pool cues like no other!

Great selection and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The nickels though are made of metal, which is a deception.
