Mission Point Resort

This was the first time I had been to Mackinac since I was a child and my husband’s first time ever. We had a great stay at Mission Point Resort! The staff was wonderful and helpful with any questions. Bike rental was on site and very convenient. My husband used the fitness center and was happy with it. The location is great- close to downtown and you can hop on the road to bike around the island right in front of the hotel. We brought our dog and she got a little welcome bag with some goodies! It was easy to walk her around the property and the restaurants on the resort property are mostly dog friendly (with the exception of one). We even rented a burley to pull her around the island in, which was a lot of fun! We only ate at one restaurant (Round Island Kitchen) for breakfast and it was really good. Our only gripe was that we were looking for more vegetarian options. Our room was a suite and it was clean and the beds were comfortable. We will be back!

I truly cannot recommend Mission Point enough! We had a small wedding here and every part of our stay was incredible. It was seriously the best wedding food I’ve ever had. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is so kind and efficient, and we always felt well cared for. Mission Point really knows how to run a hotel and incredible venue overall. You will not regret staying or dining here!

Perfect resort on the Island for families. Cost-effective (relatively speaking). Be aware of daily resort fee. Kids eat free, arcade was handy for rainy day. Bike rental convenient and reasonable. Rooms are well appointed. Beautiful surroundings. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This was our first time to visit Mackinac Island. We chose Mission Point because of its location just outside of town, and the many positive reviews we read online. We were not disappointed! The grounds are beautiful and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the food and the views from both the Bistro on the Greens and the Round Island Kitchen. The lawn was a lovely place to lounge in the evenings. During our stay, we rented bikes from the hotel, and spent 2 days exploring the island - on bike and by foot. But the unexpected highlight of our stay at Mission Point was the early morning birdwatching experience with Scott. We liked it so much that we signed up for a second round. All together, we saw 48 species of birds, including 8 species of warblers - mostly on the hotel grounds! We highly recommend both Mission Point and the birdwatching experience to anyone staying on Mackinac Island!

First time at Mackinaw Island and Mission Point Resort. We bought the experience package through the resort.... and so glad we did. We were there 4 nights and the package paid for our round trip ferry ride, meals, bike rental, fort tour, butterfly garden visit, art museum tour and putting golf course!! We had the best time. Our room was comfortable and clean, double queen. Highly recommend Mission Point!

We came for a couples getaway weekend and enjoyed being away from the hustle and bustle of downtown. We took the carriage a few times but enjoyed walking to downtown better. We did rent bikes from the resort and rode around the island. Staff is absolutely fantastic! Everyone was friendly and very helpful. We ate at Chianti our first night and enjoyed meeting Nikol who greeted us each evening while we would be walking around the resort. Krystal was a gem today during our turtle ornament decorating. We enjoyed chatting while painting and just relaxing. We relaxed this evening in the pool/hot tub before our dinner. Cannot say enough about the staff, service, accommodations, and overall entire resort! We will be back!

The grounds at Mission Point are right on the lake and are gorgeous!! The restaurants are wonderful!! This resort is very accommodating to dogs and children. There is a heated pool, hot tubs, tennis, and yard games. A truly marvelous stay!!

This was our first trip to Mackinac Island. We decided as Canadians we wanted to take in the magic of the fourth in true fashion, and we were not disappointed. The hotel is definitely a little bit dated, but that’s part of the charm and the main lobby and restaurant areas are all really well done. The service staff was extremely accommodating and we utilized all of the on-site facilities, including the pool and mini putt. We rented bikes that were included with our package and enjoyed a great stroll around the island – our children are eight and four and there were biking solutions for families of all types. The on-site food was really good and It was probably some of the better food we had around the island. The shopping was fun and super kitschy for the area. We were able to visit the grand hotel as part of an evening stroll and overall this island just has so much to offer. Will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Mission Point. The room was very clean, they are on the smaller side and it’s hot on higher floors but there are ac units to cool them down that work quite nicely. The location is spectacular, on the lake, short walk to arch rock, and a lovely stroll to town. The hotel had a lot of great amenities, and great dinning options, including pet friendly options. Great choice of hotel when visiting the island.

Attended a wedding at the resort. I had never stayed there before, but will again! It is stunningly beautiful there. It is well-kept.The staff are so friendly and helpful! It is pricey, but not bad for the island. Look forward to our next stay.

Absolutely loved our stay at Mission Point Resort! Our room was clean and comfortable. The location is quiet and so pretty (a little walk to get to Main St, but we enjoyed getting our steps in and we enjoyed how quiet it was at night). Having our luggage transported from the dock to the hotel free of charge was really convenient. My husband and I love coffee so we were really happy with the Boxwood cafe located in the resort. We ended each night watching the sunset on the lake right outside the hotel. We had a really fun & relaxing weekend & wouldn’t consider staying anywhere else! :)

I stay at Mission Point largely because both my dog and I can have an equally great time. I love the location because it is close enough to downtown with all the shopping and fun without being in the middle of all the crowds; he because his favorite beach is a short walk away right outside the resort room doors. We both like being able to sit outside and enjoy the lakeview while having breakfast or dinner, and yes your dog can join you for both. Also every time we have stayed the staff has been exceptional. This trip in particular was made extra special by a staff member we met named Carla. My dog took an instant liking to her, and my vacation was made all the brighter by the conversations we got to share.

Will definitely visit again

Classic hotel minutes away from downtown Mackinaw Island and incoming ferries. Warm and inviting atmosphere. Staff was friendly and helpful. Food in the Roundhouse Restaurant was delicious, and portions were very generous, including the kid's menu options. Several burning fireplaces in the lobby with cozy seating areas. Loved our stay!

I liked our stay. Staff was great and the location is off the beaten path. Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable. Loved that we could open the windows, use the ceiling fan to move air around and allow the fresh air in instead of running the AC as it was so nice weather wise during our stay and the lilacs were in bloom and smelled fantastic.

We stayed in the Straits Lodge as we were traveling with our pets and were worried about the quality of the rooms, but we were so pleased with the cleanliness and presentation. The service was amazing and all the staff we ran into were amazing. If you’re looking to stay out of downtown but still stay at a beautiful resort, with amazing grounds, this is your place. We also chose Mission Point to have our wedding and all of our guests raved about the food, and the amazing resort staff.

Our family had a fantastic trip to Mackinac Island, staying at Mission Point! The resort grounds were beautiful and very well maintained. Our kids enjoyed the bikes, pool, putt putt and playing in the yard while staying at Mission Point. It was so nice to have restaurants on site as well. Our room was ok- knowing the age of the hotel, we knew it wasn’t going to be top notch but the doors didn’t close easily, lights were flickering and ice was no where to be found on our floor venting. Overall, we would definitely be back to stay at Mission Point next time we are on the island.

Mission Point made the experience of staying on the island seamless. The staff is incredible. Everyone is a pleasure to talk to, knowledgeable, and they go the extra mile to make your stay special. Some standouts I can remember were Tyler at Chianti, Paige at the lobby bar, and Clever at the Round Island restaurant. Would recommend this place. The grounds are amazing.

I love staying at Mission Point. I'm on the island annually for a few days with my daughter and this where we usually stay. The rooms are great, the pool is refreshing, the food at Bistro on the Greens is great, and I personally like being a bit removed from downtown. Highly recommend it!

Mission Point is a great place to stay on Mackinac Island. Rooms are small but well appointed (fridge, microwave). The coffee shop on bottom floor is excellent. Great customer service (check in, baggage handling, restaurant and bars). It’s a short walk or carriage ride into town. Highly recommend The McCartney Years show at the amphitheater. The band was fantastic!

Very nice resort and hotel on the island. Very nice staff. Large common spaces with fireplaces comfy chairs and libraries. Incredible lawn on the lake front with Adirondack chairs. Room was a good size compared to other places on the island. Bike rentals are available on site. It is quiet location outside the hustle and bustle of the main town.
