South Beach Park

Beautiful beach on Lake Superior in Marquette. Climbing equipment and swings for the kiddos are there too.
Bathrooms could use some attention, as they were far from being clean.

Best beach, dog friendly. Clean and shallow long way out. There's an unspoken code of canine control which most people adhere to (myself included with our boys 🐾). Keep your activities to an even spacing when possible, control your dog's as you pass other dogs, and most DEFINITELY DON'T allow your dog to include itself in another groups play... Unless invited of course. Responsible dog owners on South Beach are what allow us all to enjoy the privilege. Let's not mess it up. There's a people side and a dog friendly side, don't cross the streams. ✌🏼

We travel full-time and arrived in the evening to let the dog and kiddo run around. We made dinner and went for a walk on the beach. Check out the photos attached. It's beautiful here.

This is such a great local park. It was windy and we did get a good mix of both sunshine and rain. The beach itself was clean and our dog had so much fun playing with other dogs as they came and went throughout the evening.

We did spend the night here and noticed one truck with a camper shell that spent the night as well. In the morning there was a Sprinter van on the other end that appeared to have arrived sometime during the evening. It's low-key and very local ♥ Love this place!

Clean quiet place to swim and sun great place to have a picnic and there are restrooms and a playground for the kids

Excellent dog Beach

We are camping on our land and went for a drive, this is where we ended up. I brought a sleeping bag that I unzipped and just relaxed in the sand while looking for take-out and other places to check out in the area! On our way to Laughing Whitefish Falls

my favorite reading / beach / swim spot recently. at certain points you have a wonderful view of the city.

Great view of the shoreline and plenty of room for kids to play. A little rocky in some spots but shore is mostly sand. Water gets pretty choppy late in the evening but during the day the only real waves seem to be caused from boat wake. Great place to relax and soak up the sun

Great beach for accessibility and ability to go quite ways into the lake with sand bars and water upto waist height. Good for non swimmers and early swimmers to enjoy lake superior.is accessible with ramp for wheeled mobility devices.

Best sand beach around. No flies when I've been there, which is ever year in July. Long slow grade into the water, you can Wade out probably 200' most years.

Love south beach. Warmest, shallowest beach in Marquette. Really nice oft fine sand as well. Perfect location to lakeside sandcastles in my opinion

Great place to bring the dogs for a swim and walk along the beach. Crystal clear water and it was surprisingly warm.
