The Blue Shore Cottage

The Blue Shore Cottage met and exceeded our expectations. The perfect mix of beach and a cabin in the woods. Our family is active and enjoyed the daily walk/hike to the beach and there was plenty to do around a fire every evening. Downton South Haven harbor walk, nearby disc golf, blueberry picking were all nice outings, but spent most of our time at the house and on the private beach. It had all we needed! The beach was very private and clean, and the water was clear and calm. The neighbors were friendly and Drew was a very responsive host. The 2 cottages were a nice bonus for our multiple family vacation. Will be back again!

We spent a girls weekend at The Blue Shore Cottage in February and it was spectacular! The house has absolutely everything you need. The proximity to the beach is fantastic. Nearby shopping, and activities a plenty. Drew couldn’t have been a more accommodating host and we couldn’t be more pleased with our stay. Great sleeping accommodations, a well stocked kitchen and such a homey comfortable space for 4 or more! Go and explore in the off season. We had amazing views of the frozen lake and beautiful sunsets. Followed by a warm fire and great home cooked meals. Writing about this makes me wish I was there!!

We recently took our family to South Haven for a getaway. We have 3 kids and brought a set of Grandparents along as well. This place is absolutely perfect for that. The outdoor area had plenty of toys for the kids to play with, and the owners provide literally everything you could possibly need if bringing kids.

The guest house was perfect for the aforementioned Grandparents. Both houses were very well kept, off the beaten path without being too far from anything, and incredibly quiet. The owners were incredibly kind and responsive and made the house feel welcoming.

One note: if you're planning on heading to the beach (not far at all), use the path BEHIND the guest house. Do not attempt to scale the dune at the end of the road. We made it, but just barely. What a climb that was!

If you're looking for a getaway, don't hesitate. This is an excellent 'home base' near Lake Michigan.

Charming cottage and guest house for girl’s trip or family. Loved the large kitchen table to gather around. Many activities included to do around the cottage—bicycles provided, fire pit, hammocks, swings, yard games, and a sand dune close to climb. Well stocked. Nice place to stay active or relax. Would recommend for a stay in South Haven.

We planned a family vacation with all my siblings and parents at the blue shore cottage. We have nieces and nephews and children ranging in ages from 6 months to 11 years old and it was the prefect place to keep them all entertained and having fun for the whole week. From trips to the beach, to blueberry picking, to boating on the lake, to playing in the sand at the cottage, all the kids had a wonderful time. I don't think I heard anyone say I'm bored the entire time. We loved making the nightly trek up the dune to watch the sunsets. Beautiful area and perfect for a COVID safe vacation option.

Fantastic place. Great location. Family had a great time there. Lots to do in a short drive. Really nice getaway - we did the firepit multiple nights. Climbed the dunes, biked to the state park, beaches, geocache hikes, hung out in town. The cottage and "guest house" were awesome especially for extended family guests. Five stars all the way!

Great place for our multi family weekend retreat. There is something for every personality to enjoy and an incredible number of places to sit back and enjoy each other's company. The separate guest house is a great bonus as are the large variety of books, games and other toys.

Great cottage for girls get-away weekend. Nestled in wooded relaxing setting close to sand dune. Outside fire pit, hammocks, bikes provided additional recreation. Would definitely recommend this blue Shore Cottage.

Very clean and well-stocked with extra toiletries, towels, bedding, books, toys, spices/baking needs, kitchen utensils and a few appliances, and so much more. Perfect for a large family!
