Black River Tavern

Atmosphere out the door. You can see the South Haven lighthouse as you walk in the door. Excellent food choices. C the menu in pictures. I got the perch wrap with veggies. Nice little afterburn with spices. You could actually taste the perch. It came with house chips. My wife got the fried chicken salad and she said it was very tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Worth every penny.

A friend recommended BRT and we were happy she did! Great service, wonderful food. The perch was so nice :)

The food was great, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful. If you're looking for a tavern with a classic feel, this is the place to go. The food selection is great, and the servers really know how to take care of you. Burgers are cooked to perfection, and the plating was fitting for the place.

Enjoyed the food outside on the patio. Nice views of downtown and the lake. Food was delicious and it was fast. We brought our dog and she had a great time too!

The food is some of the best in South Haven. Service was good unless you are trying to drink at a table. Waitress could not keep up with our drinks at all. Excellent food made up for it though.

Great bar with awesome food. We had the Reuben and the perch sandwich with kitchen chips. The perch melted in my mouth- outstanding. Our server kept our diet cokes full and even sent us out with a to go cup. Really great food for a reasonable price. Lots of atmosphere too.

Nice bar restaurant atmosphere with limited outside dining tables. Music plays in the background. Some parts a little loud. Updated with high table bars and stools. I'm vertically challenged so I needed a little help climbing up.

They can open up the side windows doors for a nice breeze during the spring and summer months. There's a few games/activities there to play.

The food was delicious. I had the Southwest Burger and it was worth it. The fries were delicious.

It wasn't too crowd on a Sunday afternoon but it was Mother's Day. Nice place to eat. You'll have an enjoyable time. The staff was courteous and friendly.

Was visiting for the day wandering around town and heard the excitement of the football games inside. Its was pretty busy, I was alone and felt extremely welcomed by staff and the service was excellent! Will definitely be my spot on the days I am in town!

A great night, I mean the outdoor seating on an evening with perfect weather and a view of water is pretty fantastic. On a whim we decided to head over on a Friday night during the busy summer season. My Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was delicious; A blend of peppers, onions, beef, and cheese to savor. I got the Parmesan fries for an up-charge, they were good too. Our server Topher, provided just the kind of service, with a fun and chill vibe the patio crowd craved.
We waited about 10 minutes for a table.

I shared a cob salad with my friend and ordered fries. We added chicken to the salad. It was still warm and perfectly cooked! Plenty of great food and no leftovers which was good because we were from out of town.

In South Haven with some friends for a weekend and came here to eat on a busy Saturday evening. We had 7 adults, a toddler and a dog, which is difficult to sit. I forget his name, but we were helped by a bearded man with a tattoo on his leg who had to have been stressed out but exuded an air of calm and still was able to joke with our table and even suggest some food for the dog. He was great to interact with.

No wait for a table. Was brought waters instantly. Extremely speedy service I think our meal was ready within 5 minutes and came out piping hot. The Reuben was delicious. Great place to grab a meal and people watch.

Excellent food!! worth the wait when it gets busy

the atmosphere alone is worth going to Black River for. It is just such a fun bar. One of the bartenders, Ashley, is just amazing. Greats drinks and an amazing person. The regulars are also incredible. It’s almost impossible not to have a good time. Absolutely love Black River Tavern :)

Suprised by good quality of bar food but more upscale. Roomy and cool plenty of tvs and clean bathrooms. Will eat there over crowded Clementine with way to long waits. Eat here instead.

Great Tavern on the main strip of downtown South Haven! Our waitress, Arya, was very helpful explaining the menu and she let us know about some other spots to check out, like River Bottom (incredible).

The food was great, beer was local, servers were all very kind, atmosphere was nice and relaxed dive style and was a great place to watch the Kentucky Derby. Definitely will be back!

The black river tavern must not be missed, the chicken wrap with grilled chicken, was huge! And worth every penny, delicious to the last bite . Service at the BRT was immaculate! A good crowd and from the sticker in the wash basin u know the place is super clean if their washing routines is as such :)😃
