Best dining hall I’ve ever been to! Im not even vegetarian but I loved the food. We came 3 days in a row to try all the diverse foods they offered. My favorite was Wednesday when they had Indian food. Highly recommend!

I must admit, the last time I ate here was 6 years ago. However, it was my favorite dining hall on campus! I especially loved the paninis, grilled vegetables, and curry. The food here was just so fresh and high quality. It felt like they truly put effort into making healthy, delicious food for students. One day, I will return to have it again.

Love the variety of vegan foods they have here, from waffles, tofu scramble, and fresh fruit at breakfast time and the pizza, soups, fried rice, grilled vegetables, curry, and American choices that they offer at lunch and dinner time. For desserts you can choose from fresh ice cream, cakes, brownies and cookies. There is always a salad bar with lettuce grown using hydroponics and packed with fresh fruit.

FYI: entrance is from Avenue C just south of Maple St. Walk up the small staircase just north of the loading dock for Maple Hall on Ave C, and the entrance to Mean Greens will be a brief walk down the covered walkway and through the double doors on your right.

The chefs know what they're doing here! I tried breakfast, lunch, and dinner service all in the span of two days. For non-students, you can pay for any meal of the day for $9 + tax, all-you-can-eat. Tons of choices, and the variety keeps things interesting (e.g., veggie tofu scramble, red curry tofu, seitan yakitori, lentil shepherd's pie). The vegetable sides are cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully (e.g., roasted broccoli & parsnips, spicy orange carrots, sweet potatoes). Infused water flavors change day to day (e.g., watermelon thyme, peach basil, strawberry ginger).

The only thing I would skip is any frosted cake: the icing is too sweet for my taste. But the chocolate chip bake and the brownie were both amazing. I turned them both into sundaes by topping them with vanilla soft serve.

Next time, I need to ask about the freshly made veganini (i.e., vegan panini).

Good variety of vegan fare. I end up eating a little too much. Staff are kind and courteous. Best to arrive right at 4:30pm when dinner service starts. I can't believe i went to this school for years without knowing this existed. A true campus gem!

In my opinion this is the best cafeteria on campus! I'm not even vegetarian, let alone vegan, however I eat at Mean Greens Cafeteria almost every day. The food is quality and there are lots of options. I really feel like there is something for everyone here. 🦅

What an amazing experience. A cafeteria on campus focused on serving fresh, vegan food made from scratch. Even their seitan is made from scratch! I was so very impressed and would love to come back to eat and I'm not even a student! 😊👍

Great place go get a good vegan/ vegetarian meal. Denton citizens and non university students are more than welcome to eat here, you have to pay though. Staff is amazing and super friendly.

A-freaking-mazing. It's technically for the campus but everyone is welcome. It's a buffet. Everything is wonderful and vegan. I go as much as possible. The staff is incredible as well. I love everything about this place.

Having a hot peanut butter and jelly panini while hiding from my roommate always brightened my day. Always good fresh fruit

This is probably my favorite dining hall on campus. I don't consider myself vegan or vegetarian, but never do I walk out of Mean Greens with an empty, unsatisfied stomach. I can't wait until my next visit!

Excellent food for a forced-vegetarian like me. It's a vegan cafeteria with good food and plentiful choices. I just wish their hours were better.

So great that they are open to the public! So cheap for so much food and every single thing was delicious! I can't wait til the next time we are up in Denton to hit this place up again.
