Magnuson Hotel Texarkana

Sixth or seventh time staying, still pleased with the experience. I cannot believe the reviews I see from some people on here, you pay an online price of $34 and you feel ripped off? It's your money, don't berate the staff because you feel you made a poor financial choice. That being said, I don't think it's a waste of money at all. Room is exactly what you expect from a 40 year old hotel. The cigarette burns in the table don't ruin my ability to use it. The sheets are clean even if they have a stain, some of you act like you've never owned anything stained in your life. It's all clean. Sure, not without its quirks, but it's clean and quiet and a good place to sleep. Breakfast is a waffle with yogurt, muffins, apples, or eggs. There is coffee and juice. There is variety. And if that's not what you want, there is a Burger King around the corner and a Wendy's across the highway. Beggars can't be choosers, and if you can afford to choose then I don't see why you would complain about your own choice. Staff is a 10/10 as always, polite, friendly, accommodating. No refunds, "per policy" as the ladies at the desk say, but you know that upon check in so I don't know why you would ask for one anyway. If you need a place to lay your head, this place is great. Rooms, 5 stars. Service, 5 stars. Location, 5 stars. This place has cleaned up a lot from what it was and every time I stay the management keeps improving new things. The manager Sammy is amazing, the front desk ladies Michelle, Keisha and Taylor are amazing, the housekeeping staff is amazing. Never a dull moment, you WILL enjoy the service and the stay.

I’m really not understanding all the bad reviews.. My daughter and I just stayed a month there and it was perfectly fine.. Honestly the staff was so gracious to me.. I’m disabled and had forgot my fan at home and they instantly brought me one.. And I’m sure that’s not provided.. Granted it’s a older motel and one could say it’s a little worn with age but still it maintains a dignity of grander days.. This was the third time we’ve stayed here and would stay again.. The staff is so friendly and helpful and free Wi-Fi, free parking and the rooms are clean.. Oh and did I mention the Waffles? Yummy with a choice of coffee and juices.. The rooms are cheap and agreeable I have to give a Five Star review.. Thank you..

For the price you pay , it's a very good motel. Huge king size bed no musty smell. Bathrooms are small but they are clean. No refrigerator or microwave. There is a coffee pot, iron and ironing board. Lobby was clean, Small breakfast in am, Soda machines and a pool in the summer. Parking lot well lighted. I felt safe. Taylor S has great customer service, helpful, very polite and welcoming. Young man there when I checked out was polite as well.

Best prices in town. Older hotel but clean. Room had no refrigerator or microwave, the free breakfast is minimal but good. Lobby was clean. Soda machine and ice machine work . I felt safe. They have the best staff... Ms. Taylor at the front desk gave the best customer service and Ms Christine was so friendly and inviting.

Disregard all bad reviews from before.
First let me start by saying if you are expecting an Hilton Hotel experience then you should go to the Hilton. But if you are looking for a reasonably priced stay with waffles for breakfast then this place is it. You get what you pay for. But at the Magnuson the Staff will literally treat you like family They go over and beyond to aid with any problem you may have.

It has been a wonderful place to sleep very clean the bed is very comfy and clean very nice staff and it's at a wonderful location we had our two service dogs and they welcomed them with open arms no problems which was nice we asked for extra towels and they brought it to us I say if we could we would give them more stars. Thank you for welcoming us and accommodating us we will be back to this spot every other month or so.

Enjoyed my stay here very much. It's always said a hotels welcome and goodbye can make or break it. Carolyn at the front desk was so friendly and helpful but she wasn't alone. Everyone I spoke to was very welcoming. My room was clean and spacious. Will definitely be staying here again.

Hidden gem. It’s a basic hotel that allows smoking however the staff specifically Amanda & Christine are delightful. Friendly & both went overboard to make me feel welcomed. Both were willing to do whatever I needed to ensure my stay was perfect which is unheard these days. Thank you Amanda & Christine & Magnuson! See y’all soon🦋

Absolutely the best! Staff are very kind and helpful, my room was clean and in order,and prices were very affordable. I felt very safe there as well. I will be back! Great job staff!

For the price I was very pleased with this hotel. We had to stay for 6 days avoiding Hurricane Harvey. The staff was wonderful. They were very friendly, and attentive. Yes, the hotel needs some updating but it was clean and well kept.

The bed was very comfy. Room 202 is very spacious. It had a microwaver and fridge so we could avoid eating out every meal. Location is very close to many restaurants and a Walmart. Pool is a nice size, clean, and nice seating area.

The best part is they accept dogs. We called so many places and not one would take our dogs. Magnuson was very welcoming to our whole family!

So I made reservations through PRICELINE and they totally messed everything up. I was so upset. It was a 8 night stay. But the lovely ladies and the manager of the hotel were totally wonderful. They found a way to fix what Priceline messed up. My husband and I are so happy and grateful. This is our 1st time at this hotel and we already know that we love it. Thank you ladies at the front desk!!!❤❤❤❤❤

Very conveniently located off the interstate and close to several restaurants. The hotel itself was very quiet and staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They ask and honestly care about all aspects of your stay. The continental breakfast was more than I expected. I would stay there again if I'm ever in Texarkana. For the price I paid, I was very pleased.

Read all the other reviews and wonder about some of the stories. It's older yes, but our room was very clean and well stocked. Not up in time for breakfast. WiFi and Samsung lcd worked great. Parking lot definitely needs to be redone in the near future, but not horrible even on my low car. Lots of blue collar oil and construction crews, but no obvious public drinking or other anything similar in the several different groups that were outside conversing throughout the evening. Stay was during the week which might help with the lack of drugs and prostitution visible. Good service, clean sheets and intact windows/doors on car next morning for $53 night!

Dealt with Jay while retrieving a trailer after my wife had her company stay here a week to work. Really nice hotel. Great staff and a good breakfast goes great with a good night's test and out team got plenty of both. We will be back...... lol - Green Rhino (Super Cleaner).

Wonderful staff, had to stay here for quite awhile. Breakfast is pretty good if you wake up early enough before others get to it. The owner is a very nice man, they also allow pets if you're interested.

We got the king suite. It was so much better than expected. If you want better than this you're spoiled. This is worth the money we paid. It was the best $80 hotel suite I've had and we stay in hotels at least once a week all over America. As a truck driver, I've been in some cheap hotels, this one was by far the best experience for the money. Don't be fooled, this is not the Hyatt, also not $600/night for bbn the king suite. It's the best experience for the budget hunters.

The staff was extremely congenial, the room was clean and comfortable, and it was easy for us to walk our dog who was extremely welcome. It was also very reasonable in price. I would certainly stay there again and recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay in texarkana

This place was great for the $$. The basic price was so cheap we decided to get the best room they had at a rate we usually pay for a normal cheap hotel. It was clean and the suite was huge. The hospitality was great!

The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Stayed in an accessible room and the only thing I would change is the toilet ,would put in a tall toilet. People were very friendly and helpful.
