Chip's Hamburgers of Merrill

I’m an out of towner from Massachusetts and I needed something local. Little did I know chips hamburgers located in Merrill was the most ELITE establishment every constructed in Merrill. I mean talk about an awesome experience. No line in the drive through at 10:30 (exact opening time). Servers even pointed us in the right direction to the drive through after we parked in the wrong spot. There was no need for that extra kindness, but chips burgers had it. 10/10. Food was also fire too and cheap.

I love the experience of this restaurant. Right now they are only doing drive-thru so that does limit the experience a little bit but it is still really good. I also love the uniqueness of the prices

Yay! There's still a Chip's around! My family and I visited Merrill over the weekend and what a delightful surprise! We had one in our hometown back in the day and it brings back many wonderful memories. Especially of the "family packs" my parents would bring home, which at the time consists of 10 delicious hamburgers and a bunch of fries. It's just as good as I remember it being. Support local small businesses!! 💗

Your classical all American Drive-In restaurant, burgers were good, shakes were good, curds were good. That's all you need to know is pretty darn good 👍 😊

Old school simple fast food done right. Char grilled burgers, hotdogs and crunchy fries. No frills, not gourmet or even close to being innovative, but it's simple and tasty. Definitely worth a stop for lunch whenever you are in or pass through Merrill. It's kind-of-like Kopps in the Milwaukee area but much smaller and the food is prepared with more care (the don't just throw the burger parts at the basket or wrapper). They are only offering drive up service right now due to COVID, but the service was quick right as the lunch rush began. I've previously dined inside and that service was quicker. It is very small inside with limited seating anyway. You can smell the burgers and fries from a few blocks away and will know you are getting close when you see the blue smoke billowing out the top of the building during lunch or dinner rushes.

Love the food here. Excellent fries right from the fryer!!

Always great experiences with this place. Friendly staff. Fantastic burgers. And quick drive thru lines. Definitely needs a visual menu online or something to show off all that they offer.

Chip's is one of those restaurants that has an unassuming look to it. That is to say that it doesn't look like much or seem fancy. However, the food and service is absolutely top notch!

We went through the drive thru. Quick order and everything was ready shortly after we paid for it. All of the items we ordered were freshly made and piping hot! Also tried a shake this time and was not disappointed!

It is worth the stop!

This place has been around forever, I didn't even live in Merrill and I still knew their reputation for excellent burgers! The burgers are wonderfully flame broiled, the french fries of course are legendary, and it's always staffed with happy people who are so willing to help. You can't go wrong with Chip's

Been eating there for over 40 years. Hands down the best fries in town. Burgers are usually very tasty too.

Love their burgers and they're made to order, so you can have them any way you like. Just tried their chili back in February for the first time and it was homemade, not a mix. Can't wait until we pop in again for a fast food burger that isn't rushed.

It's a burger joint. Food was fresh. Staff was friendly. Prices are so-so, but what isn't nowadays.
11/06/22 update - Was disappointed with the bacon double cheeseburger. After I got home and opened it, there were 2 tiny pieces of bacon in it. Each tiny piece was about 2"x1/2" Not worth the money paid for it!

A Merrill staple. I have to come here whenever I'm in town. Get the Champ. Get the fries. Get gall darn onion rings. Get a malt. Buy a shirt. You're one of us now.

I wish they would open up the doors again, sick of the drive thru only.

Great hometown small fast food restaurant still going strong even though there is competition in the area! Doesn't matter because it's been there longer than any other fast food restaurants in the Merrill area. Great food great service wide variety of foods to choose from on the menu! I highly recommend this if you are interested and it's currently only allowing drive thru ordering no counter service at this time so try something different then your McDonald's or other fast food sources! It's a fast food drive thru only. Hard to give any stars, but I will. The female at the window was very pleasant.
