Friendly Bean Coffee

Best coffee I can find around here. More reasonable prices than the bigger chains, friendlier people, and most importantly, the iced drinks aren't 95% ice. Iced drinks have just a reasonable amount of ice so that you actually still get the amount of coffee you're paying for. I haven't found a single other coffee place that does that right, and for that alone Friendly Bean is the top of my list. Frozen drinks are tasty, the staff is great with helping if you don't know what to get, it genuinely makes my day better to come here because the staff is wonderful. The one downside is no indoor seating, but given there's not much room inside I'm just pleased they have indoor ordering, so you can be on a walk and pop in rather than needing to drive there. Always a good experience coming here.

The very first time I went to Friendly Bean Coffee was back in August 2020, and I thought it was excellent. I loved their coffee, drinks, and went their sometimes ever since the first time I tried Friendly Bean. The menu at Friendly Bean has a wide variety of options for beverages rather they are made with coffee or not, and also baked goods & breakfast foods. Friendly Bean Coffee also has limited-time and seasonal specials which can come in many different colors. The thing that I like from Friendly Bean the most is their Frappes, which are beverages blended with malt powder, and the Frappe drinks taste very similar to ice cream milkshakes from fast food restaurants and diners. I have also had their hot Raspberry Mocha and one of their smoothies, and both things tasted delicious too.

Despite the long line at Friendly Bean Coffee, the place has really good service every time me and my mom order their drinks at the drive-through. According to photos of other customers, Friendly Bean Coffee has updated their menu not too long ago. There is also a second location in the Woodneath Library Center near Liberty, MO. If customers are wanting to know what the best coffee shop in Kansas City is, I would highly recommend visiting Friendly Bean Coffee.

Friendly Bean Coffee has been my absolute favorite go to coffee shop for years now. It’s clear their coffee beans are roasted with care, as it comes through in the flavor profile. If you’re not sure on which drink to order, but you know your flavor/taste preference, just ask the staff, they are very knowledgable, and helpful. Their baked goods are also delicious! I would definitely recommend trying the vegan pumpkin chocolate chip muffin if you haven’t yet. Not a pumpkin fan, try their other muffin options, or a scone, so tasty!

This is one of my favorite little coffee shops in the northland! I drive farther than a few of my other favorites just to get some Friendly Bean drinks. My favorite (and general go to everywhere) is an iced latte with oat milk and sugar free vanilla and it’s just perfection every time I get one from here. I don’t know what oat milk they use but I’m willing to bet that’s part of why it’s so delicious. Some places use a much earthier flavored oat milk, but this one is on the sweeter side, so be aware of that, whatever your preference may be!

Everything on the menu is delish! From the coffee to the pastries....You can't go wrong.
Oh, and the staff.... they are always serving you with a smile. I've been a loyal customer watching them grow since 2010.

Very good coffee. Good prices too! Definitely worth the money. Better than Starbucks, Scooters, 7Brew, or any "coffee franchise" that I have been to.

This place is the best. My favorite coffee shop in the area. I drive past two Starbucks and a Dutch bros just to come here. It's worth it.

I love trying new coffee shops and this place did not disappoint. My go-to drink are iced, oat milk lattes and I have to say I was impressed. It was also slightly cheaper than other shops around. Friendly staff and fast service!

The yummiest coffee in the Northland! Always quick (even with the huge lines that form) and baristas are ALWAYS in a positive mood. Never had an order wrong once, I go almost daily, and if I try something new and don’t like it they are more than happy to replace it for me.

The coffee is probably my favorite from the places I've tried in the area and one of my top all time favorites. The coffee cake was delicious!

Best coffee in Kansas City! We drive out of our way and pass multiple different coffee shops to get to Friendly Bean.

Friendly Bean is hard to replace since I moved to Texas. Each time I visit KC Friendly Bean it is always our place to get coffee at either establishment off Barry Rd (drive through only but the lines move quick enough) OR at the Woodneath Library (walk-in with seatings in the cafe area).
Friendly Bean's prices are afforable and better tasting unlike other franchises and over hyped places. Muffins are large sized, made on the premises, and not frozen and brought in. They roast their coffee beans and it is fresh!
I spent under $20 (not including tip) for 3 coffees and 3 muffins. Photo attached is a harvest muffin and italian cappuccino.

Friendly Bean instantly became our favorite coffee shop when we moved to the area a while back, they stay as busy if not busier than the local Starbucks if that tells you anything. Everything from iced coffee to lattes, frappes, chai tea, bakery items, it’s always the best. And they are indeed as friendly as the name implies. I love that we can use a punch card to get free drinks and I feel like the serving size/cost ratio is better than most. We keep asking when they’re going to sell some T-shirts!

i’ve been coming here religiously for a long time even though i live about 20 min away! my best friend introduced me to it a few years ago, and i firmly believe it’s some of if not the best espresso in the northland. my dad loves their mocha frappes, because they’re not too sweet!

One of the few reasons to awaken early on a Saturday morning, an iced beehive latte + a chocolate croissant = pure heaven.

I cannot share what their drinks or food is like, but I can say that the workers and the manager there were so kind! My fellow high school teachers and I were on a scavenger hunt during a professional development. We needed to trade a paper clip for other "better" items. We went to several businesses, but the last place we went was here at Friendly Bean Coffee. The employees working at the time called their manager to see what they could give us. I thought maybe we could get a few coupons to bring back to our staff. However, the manager told the employee to give us 100 $10 coupons to share with our staff!!!! I could not believe how generous they were. I am so happy to see a business willing to support educators because the places we went before this were unwilling to give us more than one coupon worth $10 alone. This business clearly cares about us and our community, and I will definitely be spreading the word that people need to be taking their business here! Thank you for caring and showing support!

P.S. the brownies looked sooooo delectable while we were in the store.

Drink is always consistently good! I have never had a bad drink. The staff is nice and approachable . Sometimes the line does get long but I think it’s worth the wait. Pricing is also very good for the area.
