Banksia - South Plaza

Came here for brunch and got the ricotta hotcakes. They were absolutely amazing! Never had a hotcake like this before. The honeycomb butter and the fruit take it over the top. Can’t wait to try out the rest of their menu.
I also got a passion fruit merengue tart. It was so good. Definitely recommend brunch or lunch.

The Cuban pork was outstanding, with the arugula salad base and a flavorful dressing, made for a beautifully refreshing lunch. I've also been dreaming of the pavlova since I first had it a few weeks ago, but when I go it's not always available (due to typical bakery sellout times). I look forward to trying the remainder of the baked goods menu!

Finally found the time to visit what I thought was just a small little cute bakery in the south plaza area. I opened the door and instead discovered a full restaurant and bar with fabulous rustic aesthetics, and an entire wall lined with greenery. A little slice of heaven, and incredible food.

This place was awesome! We had a late breakfast and I finally got to try Vegemite on toast!! No wonder my Australian friends love it, it was delicious. Such a fun menu, plus a front display of yummy baked goods and a full bar. Service was fast and super friendly. Again, I can't have caffeine but was made a beautiful decaf drink on request. The biscuit and gravy was served as it should be.. in a bowl, swimming in gravy! My breakfast burrito was huge, took half home for the next day. And to top it all off, the place is full of philodendron! (Common houseplant) They basically have 2 walls covered in plants, so refreshing.

Amazing dinner at with our travel and tourism group. Everything was prepared to absolute perfection and the flavors were exquisite! Breakfast until 5pm, and we were able to have a private dining experience. Service was excellent.

Bakery and full bar at this location. I asked them to pick any baked good for me to buy on my way out and they gave me a caramel bar that was the most decadent little square!

There's a complimentary parking garage behind the building and a ramp to the door, making entry accessible to this second-floor businesses. There's also street parking. Restrooms are in the office building (use back entry to restaurant) and are gender specific and accessible.

The sandwich was great! Service was nice and the food came quickly. I took the pastry home and it was amazing!

Saw this place on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, so decided to try it out. Nice, clean and friendly atmosphere. Food is great. I didn't get any pastries, but definitely plan to try some on my next trip there. Water and regular coffee are self-serve. (And free!)

Love the location and the convenience across the street from the library. Attended an event at United Way and stopped to meet up at Banksia. Amazing staff and space to chat before the event. Will come back with the family to enjoy the great coffee and food options.

I came here two days ago for my birthday with my mom and dad. The breakfast burrito was phenomenal and their mango and orange juice are fantastic. My mom's pastry was slightly raw in the middle but she still enjoyed the food especially for someone as picky as her.

Parking does get pretty hectic in the morning but moving towards the side of the building avoids any traffic and lowers chances of getting blocked in

Stopped by for a Cuban pork and mimosas. The food was so good and so was the mimosas. The portion size was on point and filled me up. The customer service was excellent. Back of house didn’t take long at all to get the food to me even though they were busy. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

So happy a new breakfast/lunch place has joined the area! Banksia has a ton of healthy and delicious breakfast and lunch options. My husband and I stopped in for a breakfast some coffee, hot meal, and a pastry. Pastry and coffee were delicious!! Main dishes were fresh, hot, and tasty - what else could you ask for? My husband’s only weird nitpick is he likes his eggs Benedict cooked more traditionally (but he cleaned his entire plate so I’m not sure that nitpick holds any water lol). Will be back!!

Delicious! We ordered the Breakfast Sandwich and the Breakfast Burrito, along with a mimosa and a cappuccino. Absolutely perfecto! Not only was the food outstanding the place itself is darling, and to top it off they have patio seating. This is a must try place for sure! 10 Stars!

Nice open space to relax and enjoy a drink. We tried a latte, macchiato, avocado toast and a breakfast burrito. Everything tasted delicious. I would highly recommend the avocado toast! It was really tasty. Both coffees were great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely go back.

It's not everything you have an Australian bakery/ eatery. All the food was good and well priced. Will definitely visit again. Perfect time to try Vegemite if you haven't.

Amazing experience on my first visit. The owner was very friendly, the food was fantastic, and the prices were reasonable. I’m not typically a brunch person but this is a place I’d go back to.

My breakfast burrito 🌯 was huge. The ham was tasty. Perfect combination of eggs and meat. Lots of natural light filtering into the restaurant. The tables were clean, large, and plentiful!

Honestly, a secret little gem in Kansas City that has to be tried out! They have an amazing creamy mushroom and beet/feta toast. That is unbelievable! Pastries are the best I’ve had in the city!

The food at banksia never disappoints, and the coffee is delicious and made just the way I like, customizations and all. They have the best salad options, with unique protein choices and veggies options. My favourite is the jerk chicken salad, the chicken is so juicy and the pine nuts add a yummy crunch. The Mediterranean salad is also yummy, the fried halloumi cheese is a masterpiece.

The fried paneer salad is so good as well. I do have to say this location makes better food than the one downtown. The protein there is kinda over cooked. I love the chocolate lamington with the berry jam in the middle, it’s so decadent with a cup of coffee. It keeps me coming back.

Delivered via Doordash. This was quite literally some of the best baked goods I've ever had. I got the smoky vegetable pie, passionfruit curd with meringue, chocolate ganache & raspberry coulis tart, and pear Danish. The vegetable pie was the best. The mushrooms created a sort of gravy inside, the crust was flakey, the eggplant and sweet potato (which I normally hate) were sooooo good. The passion fruit was so flavorful and delicious. The meringue was perfect. The chocolate ganache was the creamiest most delicious chocolate and the raspberry was..words don't even properly describe it. The pear Danish wasn't what I expected- it was better.
