Moondogs

We wanted to get close to the sound of Pittsburgh Rock and Roll and picked Moondogs and the Neil's Hotel Band. On a Saturday night. We weren't disappointed. The Iron City Lites were IC cold and the band was red hot. My wife and I had a great evening and my 20 something daughter and her boyfriend danced the night away. Highly recommend.

This is a nice venue with top quality music acts, very friendly employee's and very clean. There is a small parking lot and street parking. Very minimal noise level. They don't serve food but everyone goes to a place two doors down and brings it back. I highly recommend Moondogs!

Wonderful place to see great music. Great food from neighboring Starlite Lounge.

Excellent little music venue. Old school jazz rock vibes. Modest beer and drinks selection. Fair prices. Definitely worth checking out for a live music show

This place is awesome. I flew in from Seattle to attend the Pittsburgh Blues and Roots music festival on Friday 7-28-2023. My friend, the unofficial Mayor of Johnstown, PA, picked me up at PIT and took me to this place. It was absolutely incredible. Some of the best musicians on the planet were performing / jamming. For me, it was like a preview of what heaven is going to be like!

Great place to see live band. Great atmosphere. Little small has great drinks. It has a nice crowd.

My son attends open Mic performances every month for Band Together Pittsburgh. BTP gives those with developmental and intellectual disabilities a musical outlet. This has opened doors for my son that were closed when he got his diagnosis. Thank you.

All I can say is wow wow and wow!!! Moondogs is a awesome blues venue. Saw Barbara Blue with Felix and the Hurricanes, it was the best show I have ever seen in my life!!! My wife and I will definitely come back to Moondogs again!!!

When I 1st started playing in bands around SWPA, I had known about Moondogs and wanted to perform there. The day finally arrived!! I performed on the stage with Ellen Hildebrand, Devilish Merry and The Little Wretches rounding out the evenings entertainment. There was a nice sized crowd! There is even a performers dressing/ warmup room.
This is a fantastic venue for enjoying live entertainment. I didn't get the opportunity to take a closer look at the writings and autographed instruments....maybe there will be a next time!!!

Always wanted to come here because moondog is my dad's cousin and wanted to check it out. So I got some family together and we finally made it and it was a great night. Packed house but had good seats at the bar. Very cool place. Glad I made it and hope to get back there again.

Great music venue ! Looking at their billboards, there is music like jazz, blues on the weekends, and other musical venues throughout the week

One of the great rare intimidate music venues in the Pittsburgh area. It has incredible acoustics, a total music atmosphere, and an awesome staff

I love playing music there. It has a friendly atmosphere. And the pineapple juice is great! Also on Thursday nights during the Open Mic they give away free wings!

A great venue for music - the night I went, the place was crowded and yet very friendly. Service was good, fast and friendly, and the drinks were good even when there was a big crowd.

No food is served, but you can bring in takeout - there's a diner just up the street that does takeout.

Parking fills up pretty quick but there is plentiful on-street parking.

Very cool club. Here for friend's bsnd performancr. Many guitars w autographs along entire wall. Funny band themes w dog illustrations

Two great places for live music!
Moondog's Pub, and the Starlite Lounge (50 yards down the street).
The jam sessions at Moondog's on Thursday nights are a blast! You can meet great people, and hear/play a wide variety of musical styles.
They also have a good sound system, and a talented soundman who knows how to use it.
