Big Laurel Falls

I came down from the upper parking lot. The first 1 1/2 miles is a walk in the woods, with not much to see. Once you get to the river crossing and the back country campsites, the scenery greatly improves, but the trail is more difficult from there on down. I only hiked to Big Laurel Falls, which mean the second half of my hike was all up hill. Make sure you're in good shape for this trail.

Beautiful place! Somewhat of a long hike so make sure you leave early as there is no night hiking. Almost all downhill to the falls making it uphill most of the way back. Some parts of the hike are challenging and can get you a bit turned around. The lookout is a must see

A really cool waterfall that flows backwards into a cave. Definitely worth taking a little time and exploring

I hiked this trail about 30 years ago and loved it. I will have to pull some pic to share from then. The trail at that time wasn’t marked very well but I hear it is now. If you can find your way past the falls and find and follow the river walking the huge rocks there are many private places you can camp. Our fav was a huge flat rock over the river. We put our tent on the rock and you couldn’t get any closer to the water that that! The rock was big enough to have a camp fire on it as well. Great memories.

Didn't have time to make it to Virgin Falls but just getting here was worth it. It would be amazing to camp out in the cave under the water fall.

Awesome waterfall! Would definitely recommend. If you go to this park bring food and prepare to stay the night!!! This waterfall is on the path to Virgin Falls. Over all my friend and I hiked around 13 miles (Including the Sheep's cave loop)

A really cool place to stop along the trail. As you go under the falls, it's like a natural a/c, which is much appreciated on a hot day. Virgin Falls alone is worth the hike, but BLF is just icing on the cake.

Strenuous hike back up if you’re not an experienced hiker, but well worth it!
