Super easy trail to the bottom and top of falls. You can walk behind this falls also. There is also a huge cave but you need a permit to venture far into. The water from this falls disappears underground and comes back out elsewhere super neat! This is one of my go tos been here MANY times. Been to in all seasons. 🥶🌿🍂🌻

Awesome waterfall. Easy and short trail (5 minutes from Peking lot to waterfall). I went after a few days of rain and the waterfall was huge! There were caves everywhere, even under the waterfall.

Great place to go for a hike! An easy one. Waterfall is quite amazing because it falls into a small pond, and there is no river flowing from it, at least not on the surface. The bat 🦇 cave is just in front of it , but we couldn’t go it in because bats are hibernating and should not be disturbed 😳😃

Hidden gem just outside Sparta. The falls are so magnificent you feel like you walked into a fairy tale. A simple stroll turns into a light decent that gives way to a majestic cove. Be sure to check out the cave parallel to the falls for a break from the summer heat. If you follow the trail past the falls 100 yards you will find another small waterfall. 10/10 recommend this easy hike for the whole family.

Really nice area. The trails are very rocky, but not too difficult to get to both the top of the falls or down to the bottom.

Lost Creek Falls is a 60 foot, beautiful, waterfall located in Sparta, TN. Formerly located on private property, this spot has remained a secret until fairly recently. In 2012 the well-known Fall Creek Falls State Park purchased the land to add to their park system. One of the lesser known facts about Lost Creek is that it was used by Disney to film scenes for “The Jungle Book,” its 1994 live-action version of the Rudyard Kipling classic. Lost Creek Falls in Sparta, Tennessee, offers the adventurous spirit much to explore in a small area. Cold air gets trapped in the hottest and dampest times of the year, wicking the water from the humid air and coating everything at the bottom with moisture. Although the trail is a very short one, it’s well-marked with blue blazes. About halfway up the trail Lost Creek Cave appears just off to the right. It’s one of Tennessee’s larger caves with five entrances including this one and seven miles of mapped passages. It’s also home to several rare species including the federally protected Indiana Bat. Due to the decline in the population of cave-dwelling bats, the cave is closed during times of hibernation and swarming. At other times of the year recreational access is allowed via a no-cost permit which must be obtained at the Nature Center at Fall Creek Falls. The cave also features a waterfall about a half-mile in from the entrance. On the other side of the sink directly opposite the cave, Lost Creek Falls roars to life. Similar to other waterfalls in the area including nearby Virgin Falls, its water source emerges from a large spring or collapsed cave at the top, drops and then disappears again. Hence the name, Lost Creek. No hike involved and very much worth the travel time. The water disappears as the name suggests. We love this cave and pair of waterfalls! We usually try to bring any friends or family visiting to this to spend the day exploring. Getting the permit is super easy (required & free), I like that they have a slight limit on people going in daily so it's never over crowded.

Super easy walk to the fall. Great for kids with the ease of trail and depth of water at the waterfall itself. The drive to get here is remote on a gravel road. Service is also nonexistent at the fall for ATT. 👍👍

This was one of my favorites camping spots when I was in high school years ago before it was a park. You can't camp their anymore since the change but I am so happy it is so well taken care of. The trial to the falls and the cave is so much easyer and the road is better taken care of. It's beautiful spot for a picnic or a easy walk with kids. Also a great first time caving experience. Their is even a water fall inside the cave about half a mile in go the cave. Have to have permit to cave FYI. Super easy to get online in caving session.

A very beautiful waterfall, even though I'm there when water everywhere is . . . less. An easy walk to either the top or the bottom of the falls, as well us to the mouth of the cave. I didn't go into the cave . . wasn't sure if it would be allowed, even if I was in condition to go caving.

Really cool waterfall only a short walk from the parking area. Nice volume of water (on Sept 2, 2020 anyway) but wasn't so much that you couldn't get fairly close. The flow went almost directly from the falls and through some rocks to disappear underground. A short distance later it reappears, flows a short distance, and disappears into a cave. When we were there, about 4PM, a spooky mist was floating up from the cave.

I highly recommend this place. Great spot for everyone to enjoy! Please respect the cave when it's closed! Wouldn't you hate it if someone just walked into your room at night and blasted you with a flashlight while you were sleeping?

This place is beautiful, I'm surprised it's not very well known. There is a small parking lot and it's a pretty quick walk to the cave entrance and the waterfall. It's great on hot summer days because the cave provides natural air conditioning around the entrance. The inside of the cave is also really cool. I haven't been back in a while because it's currently closed until sometime in May, but there is a waterfall inside, along with lots of places I've yet to explore. I can't wait to go back!

This place is beyond beautiful. Definitely worth a visit. The temperature is substantially cooler down by the falls and cave. Beautiful steep trails lead on top of and beneath the falls. The cave is huge and goes way way back. Some caves gear up and travel deep within. In dry times, you can explore the caves at the top of the falls that are normally filled with rushing water

This place is tucked away and untouched by many things! The fall is so close you can touch it. So beautiful and magical. And let's talk about the huge cave that is 500 ft away from the fall as well! You get 2 majestical areas in just one place

Great Waterfall and Cave. Needs some signage along road to guide to parking area. Parking area needs a trail map to and signs pointing the way to the Waterfall and cave. Caution last mile of road and parking entrance and exit very narrow, one car or two small cars only. Easy quick 5 min hike down to Waterfall and cave entrance.

Very much enjoyed this short hike. Went on a day when there happened to be a heavy rain. That immediately impacted the volume of the waterfall. This is a hike non-hikers or those just starting hiking would enjoy.

Beautiful waterfall even with lower than usual water levels. Cave hike to waterfall was fun but need headlamp and hiking shoes for safest experience.
