Five Star Restaurant

Went to five star last night for dinner and definitely give them five stars! The staff were awesome! I ordered a Mezcal sour (cocktail) and my boyfriend got a beer. The only not great thing I have to say about five star is the drink prices are way high for the amount of drink you get (cocktail in picture was $15). After that drink I switched to wine and the bartender gave great suggestions and helped me pick which one would be best for my taste (gave samples)!

For food we started with the pork belly buns and they were delicious! For our main dishes I got the crispy sesame beef and my boyfriend got the shrimp and scallop dish and we shared fried rice. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The shrimp and scallop dish had a nice spice to it. The fried rice could have used a bit more flavor but we enjoyed it none the less. All in all we will definitely be back!

I've loved this restaurant for for almost two decades. The food is savory and fantastic. Try the Bang Bang Shrimp, you'll be glad you did. The chicken wings are also amazing. Overall they have generous portion sizes and a variety of options to choose from.

I have to give them 4/5 on the good. We ordered a couple appetizers and a couple entrees... half were amazing and the others weren't anything to write home about.

Me and my friend were trying to find a spot to eat after visiting the nearby museum. We accidentally arrived about 20 minutes early but staff was very kind to us and catered to our every need. A waitress did get my friend's order wrong but let her keep it and was very kind. The Szechuan noodle was amazing and so was the crab Rangoon. I really can't stress how kind and friendly the staff are.

It's really inexpensive too. 15$ for a bowl of noodles and 6 crab Rangoon!

I have dined in and take out many times at Five Star in Raleigh. Its a great place all around. Excellent food and cocktails. I recently picked up an order; the staff gave me the wrong order and I did not realize until I was home, 10 miles away. They instantly credited the meal. What I did take home was wonderfully delicious. Five Star is customer focused.

We love coming here and enjoying a few cocktails and dinner. Their menu is not your typical Chinese food but it’s really good! Sad that their Durham location closed last week, it was our new favorite spot to get dinner before a DPAC show.

Our virgin visit. We felt welcomed, no pressure sales to get us to order up or order more. We love every bite from every dish. The staff were super kind to our little guy and even presented him with a server's towel, it made his day.

Recently visited Raleigh and went here for dinner with a friend per his recommendation. Food was OUTSTANDING, and the service was phenomenal. Had the spring rolls and sesame chicken—both incredible. Would absolutely go here again.

We had the “Heat Seeker Shrimp” and some “Crispy Green Beans”. The beans were perfectly prepared and full of flavour. The decor is very interesting and is worth checking out. It is related to the relative (grandfather I believe) who was a 5 star general.

The real star was the shrimp. Absolutely the best part of the meal and my day. The texture of the shrimp was all one could ever want as well as the balanced amount of sweet to heat.

This was unknown to me until now, but I will be back and I will share this experience with everyone.

Best restaurant in Raleigh, have been going since their original location and have ALWAYS had incredible experiences. General's chicken, heat seeker shrimp, and the green beans!

We met friends here as it's one of their favorite restaurants. I called ahead to ask about gluten-free and corn free options. Tatum was exceptional in that she found out the details in such a way that I never felt like I was a nuisance for asking. The guys at the front were so friendly when we arrived. The meals were outstanding. Unfortunately, due to my sore throat the Red Curry Chicken was too spicy to eat. However Israel our server quickly offered that they make me something else. That was above and beyond my expectations. I only know of one sake by name that I like and the bartender was able to recommend one from their selection and we thoroughly enjoyed it. This might have been our first visit, it will certainly not be our last. Both the front of the house and the back of the house hit it out of the park and gave us a WOW experience! Thank you.

This was was extremely good. I was looking for Chinese food and figured I'd give this place a try. Certainly not your typical Chinese and more of an Asian-fusion. The meal was delicious. The desserts selection and dessert itself weren't all that great, but the entree certainly made up for that. Cool ambiance, tons of seating upstairs and down, with pool table upstairs.

Hard to recognize from the street. In fact, looks like dive-hole from the street but certainly the opposite once you open their awesome door.

I haven't been since my high school graduation so going there after 7 years was different. Definitely a good change though. Food is still the same with great service. My boyfriend hats vegetables so we ordered no vegetables in our food and they accommodated us even listing out the ingredients to one of the items we thought about ordering. All in all great food. Will definitely go again.

Great space with plenty of light and the train rolling through. Has the BEST sesame beef ever. Great bar too with creative mixed drinks. Don't sleep on the Szechuan spare ribs and give the soup dumplings a try. Great parking - just be sure to know your license plate number so it can be validated!

Second time visiting this place while in Raleigh and both times have been absolutely great. The duck fried rice that was featured when I was there was cooked to perfection and duck tender and delicious tasting as well. They have generous portions for the price which is a plus for me. The staff is also very attentive and friendly, I never found myself having to wonder where my waiter is. Will definitely be back next time I visit Raleigh.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant considering they’re open till 11pm, you would think you can’t get great late night food but Five Star hit it out of the park. All the apps were good except for the calamari… Our server recommended the spicy beef with noodles and it was delicious. I highly recommend the crab fat caramel wings and the spicy cucumbers. One of my new favorite restaurants in Raleigh, perfect for date night or girls night out, will definitely be back! Thank you Five Star!

Five Star never disappoints! The food and service are always top notch and the portion sizes are generous. Everything I have tried has tasted phenomenal and I love to bring people who have never been here to spread the word!

We were a fan if this restaurant from the days when they were over in the warehouse district. Love the new spot, nothing has changed—food still amazing, great bartenders. Got takeout which we had not done better and it was also delicious! Crispy sesame beef and green beans are our favorites!

Dine here weekly. Fantastic food and atmosphere, service. Some of the best food in Raleigh.

Another great experience at 5*! Was a busy night so we sat at the bar. Bartender was on point with service and suggestions. Food was delicious, drinks were awesome as well. Salt and pepper calamari was the highlight of the evening. One added treat I didn't notice on the way in was the DJ mixing the beats and really elevated our Friday date night. Parking can be a little challenging but well worth the effort to get in here!
