Junious N. Sorrell Park

My family stumbled upon this park while on the 2018 Tour D'Coop — otherwise it's pretty hidden back in the South Park neighborhood and would probably be hard to notice. It was remodeled in the last year and has a wonderful variety of equipment for ages 2–12. The older kids area is shaded with canopies (the small play set isn't shaded). There is a nice grassy area at the edge of the park that was heavily shaded in the early morning. The whole playground is enclosed by chain link fence with two gates. It was very clean on our visit. I like that the equipment is quite unique and we plan to visit again! Parking is just on the street next to the park (on a corner lot) and there aren't bathrooms, but there is a water fountain.

Park was great! We went on a Wednesday,but my son did get really sick with a fever and a virus 2 days later after going. (He normative stays home all the time, this was the only outing he had in over 2 weeks. Dr said he probably got the virus from the playground, which is completely understandable and common), my older 2 kids even enjoyed the park! Only downside is where the rubber meets the concrete, it has a good sized bump, and my 10 yo tripped over it A few times while we were there.
