Such an awesome playground! My kid loved it! So many times I drove by and didn't know about the quality of it. Will sure be back! Plus, it was not crowded at all!

Very nice park with pretty good playground area for kids. Splash pad is decent but not that great, there are others which are pretty good than this splash pad. They have gym center, walking track and carousel as well but check on timings. Lot of parking on front and even on back right next to kids playground. Seems lot of summer activities as well if needed. Play area is in shade by evening which is good but still rides were hot. Lot of benches to sit, restrooms to use and overall a great place.

Great park for little and big kids. I personally had so much fun playing with my kids here! Even good on hot days if you bring swimsuit or clothes you don’t mind getting wet because they have a good size splash pad. Probably one of the best parks I’ve been to in the area.

My kids loved the playground here so much. My toddler spent most of his time on the spinning thing here.

Great playground with picnic area, no dog playground, wonderful bathrooms, very friendly and helpful staff. Well kept up, nice gym. One thing would have been nice; a walking track around the outside play facility so mom's can walk or stroll babies while watching their children play.

Great park and splash pad for kids!! So many fun options. We had a great time. The outdoor instruments are a bonus!!! Take sunscreen as there's not a lot shaded areas. They have a few tables with umbrellas but not a lot.

The playground looks so new, fresh, modern, and creative! 😁👍👍 They also have a basic splashpad here as well! 💦💦 Sassafras Children’s Playground at Laurel Hills Park finally now has serious competition for the top playground in Raleigh! Dead serious. This playground is definitely in the Top Ten Best Playgrounds in the Greater Raleigh Area!

The best park I've ever experienced with my family. Went almost every day during our trip. There's a splash park and a regular park side for all ages. Chairs with table and umbrellas for shade. I found going after 5p to be the most tolerable part of the day. Lots to do for little ones and older kids. Very clean and people were very respectful.

I enjoyed every minute of it. I am so thankful that the city is turning the corner of progress in the neighborhood, and community. For the ones who need it so decisively.

Lovely park and playground, definitely the best in this area with a splashground and lots of creative climbing spaces for kids of all ages. The community center also has a gym and activity center. As others have mentioned, shady areas were limited.

It’s a beautiful park. We enjoyed the merry-go-round, even as adults.

Came here for the splash pad awhile ago. Got SO much more. They had outdoor lawn games and a beautiful community center. Only complaint is I didn't feel safe from the moment I parked. A lady who was wearing torn clothes and limping approached many people in the community center including my friend and I. She tried to give our kids a taco she didn't eat. I guess she didn't like the way my friend responded, because she approached me worked up about it. Made me nervous, but otherwise great park.

It was a fun playground with a nice splash ground and lots of area to picnic and walk around with access to bathrooms. We didn’t go inside the community building, but I’d expect it to be nice as well. I believe The carousel was currently under construction.

It is a completely different park from before a few years ago. Chavis Memorial Park has a lof of water and splash activities for the children. Make your kids have on some water clothes, or bring some because they will get wet! Make sure you go to the Recreation Center.

This park is so cool. It was a new find for the family, and upon arrival, the kids couldn't wait to get out of the car and start playing on the park. I would highly recommend checking this park out. There's plenty of seating, too, which is great.

Definitely would recommend this park, especially for kids who are between the ages of 5 and 12 and may or may not have challenging situations concerning height in front of them. Definitely a safe place to move through these challenges by utilizing this park.

My son had a great time. So much so he had a complete meltdown upon leaving. It was so peaceful and plenty of things for him to explore.

This is a beautiful Historical Park. It has everything and all the children playing look so happy. The playground area is very beautiful and spacious. I take my grandson Caden to run and get all that energy out. ☺You just have to see this place totally gorgeous outdoor water splash fountain with covered picnic tables, musical instruments outside to play. They have work-out equipment and a spacious size bathroom outside by the playground. They also have affordable rooms for rent for any occasion. They out did their selves on this park.❤
