Edge of Urge

This place is SUPER COOL!!! It's unusual these days in the age of endless online shopping to fund a shop that really takes me back to finding a cool store selling a bunch of unusual and awesome wares in the 90s when you'd just stumble upon a hidden gem of a store. This has that vibe! They had so much stuff it was impossible to take it all in, and I really miss that experience! It's in a funky part of town and adds its own cool flavor to the whole scene and we will definitely be back! Neat gifts, cool sh!+, who could ask for more! Thanks for being something extra in an awesome way!

This is located inside of a small strip mall, sandwiched between a couple of eateries. They have a 2-hour parking limit that is enforced, so keep your eyes open.

This story definitely has a ton of hipster merchandise directed with a modern flare for the ladies. I say ladies because there is a store for the gentlemen (Unlikely Professionals) right across the street. That is because it's a huband-wife team that owns both the storefronts.

The store has inventory packed to the gills, so take your time when looking for something special.

The staff is friendly and greeted us when we walked in.

Definitely recommend ordering something from here if you're a lil quirky. They have an amazingly large selection of unique gifts! Also, I suggest paying an extra $3 to get everything gift wrapped too. I was so so pleased with how the gifts arrived all packaged up in cute papers and ribbons. Thanks!

Quirky, trendy, creative and at times mildly offensive - this store has something for everyone. From handcrafted local pottery to hand-shaped metal bookmarks, Edge of Urge is a cultural playground.

Stationary, wallets, board books, sunglasses, creams, gels, glitter, lip remedies, cosmetics, various adornments of every material.

My wife loves this store and I see why. Lots of fun and quirky themed knick knacks and wares. Friendly staff. Check them out if you're able.

This is a very neat little shop with a lot of eclectic items. It's a great place to find a nice little gift for someone special.

I don’t ever write reviews but I’ve been shopping here for almost 5 years now and it’s my favorite store in Raleigh. Any time I need a gift for ANYTHING, ANYONE I go here. Most amazingly curated little shop. I was there earlier this week and realized I need another little gift for a friend so headed back this morning. 100% recommend!

Amazing company. Just ordered two gifts and they came so quickly. They were perfect and i got a personal note thanking me via email and in my package. Gifts came wrapped beautifully as well. Great experience. Excellent service and products.

I was DELIGHTED to finally have time to visit Edge of Urge after being an online customer for a few years now. The store is so welcoming and vibrant with a huge selection of giftables of all kinds. My go-tos include the Sydney Hale Co candles as well as sampling the store's awesome variety of self care products. Tricia was a pleasure to talk with and is clearly passionate about their products. Can't wait to go back!

Super cute store! They have lots of unique jewelry, house decor, clothes, and gift like things but LOCAL and from independent artist. I ordered some things online and the packages where wrapped really nicely. They sent a thank you email and personally wrote a little note and thank you- made me smile and it’s so awesome to take the time to do that.

Literally my favorite place to shop in all of Raleigh. It's a funky boutique where you can find all kinds of cool clothes and accessories as well as fun presents for adults and kids. They have a GREAT selection of cards for every occasion. They have really beautiful handmade jewelry for any budget. I could rave all day about how much I love this place. Every out-of-town friend who visits me gets dragged here and they love it!

This is such a cute store! There are literally gifts for everyone that are more unique than something you would just buy on Amazon. I've found amazing books and tons of cute items. It's made shopping for gifts so much easier. I found gifts for my mom, sister in law, 13 year old niece, 4 year old niece, 2 year old nephew and myself. They're very friendly and helpful here as well.

Edge of Urge is my favorite store in Wilmington! I love the shoes and jewelry! If I am looking for a cool gift or a present for someone I go there! They even have cute stuff for all my friends with babies! The customer service is amazing! The women who work there are all really smart and funny! I love bringing my friends from out of town to the store and have them pick out awesome (a lot of the time locally made) things!

I love this place. Such a great collection of stuff for myself or others. Always able to find neat, original gift ideas. And lots of handcrafted stuff. Can be pricey so sometimes I'll check online for things I see in there and can find them cheaper.

I can’t believe I haven’t left a public review for this store. I first started going to Edge of Urge when I was a student at UNC Wilmington and was so happy when I heard they were expanding and opening a store in Raleigh. I haven’t been shopping here as frequently as I used to BUT every time I visit, it’s so nice to see all the cool brands they added like Charlotte Stone and Coucou Suzette. Brands that I found on social media and always appreciated for their unique style and kitschy aesthetic. Edge of Urge has something for everyone and I’m always happy to support this woman owned business.

This is a charming store with a ton of fun things for sale. The employees are friendly and even went out of their way to suggest other things I might like to get based on what I was buying. They sell clothing, accessories, books, cards, candles, small trinkets and more. It is a great place for gift ideas. They have a kid friendly area in the back full of toys and children's books as well. There is a parking lot in front of the building.

As someone that doesn’t shop often, but looks for QUALITY pieces when I do, Edge of Urge has been my first stop for original, one-of-a-kind pieces for the last decade! You know they sell great quality garments, when the first thing I ever purchased there (OVER 10 years ago!) is still one of my favorite pieces in my closet.

Whether I need to knock out my entire Christmas list for the family, buy a new pair of shoes for work, or pick out that showstopper dress — they literally have never let me down. It feels really good shopping local, but even better shopping somewhere that I know the owner is the kindest person in the world!

I’m a huge fan. Really. The merchandise is cool PLUS the service is exceptional. Like, made my day kind of service. A personal thank you email after purchase, handwritten thank you + coupon in my package. And a neatly packaged package, too. I could tell whoever wrapped it did it like it was their own stuff they were shipping. It was so nice that I ordered from them again already only 2 weeks later. Thanks ladies!!!

My wife loves this store! In fact, it's one of my go-to stores for finding gifts for her as well as family and friends. And, when family and friends are in from out of town, we make sure to bring them by Edge of Urge to find gifts and souvenirs to bring home with them. It's just such a fun place to browse and see all the quirky and amazing local items...like pottery, soaps and cosmetics, jewelry, and clothes! There are also edgier products that will certainly make you laugh.
