This congregation exudes unconditional love and challenges people to meaningful spiritual growth. I love the chapel with its labyrinth and the meditation practices that take place there. If you are looking for people who carry forward the Christian Contemplative Tradition (leading to action in the world), you can find them here. If you need support for living with illness, you can find that too at Pullen.

You will not find a more welcoming church anywhere, and they back up their claims about caring for justice issues with action. As a newly out queer person who felt ostracized by the church that had once welcomed me, I spent my first service at Pullen shedding tears of relief to feel embraced by a church again.

That said, if you are hoping for a church with clear rules and with strict standards for inclusion, Pullen may not be for you.

If you are looking for a progressive Christian church in the Raleigh area, you won't find anything better than Pullen. This church was founded in the late 1800s based on a mission of community outreach and social justice. They have taken that initial mission and built on it in a way that has such a tremendous impact on the community, the state, and the world we live in. The pastor, Nancy, is a warm, intelligent woman whose sermons are powerful, thoughtful, and captivating. The congregation is full of friendly, open-minded people who are quick to welcome a guest. The music minister is wonderfully talented and leads both the church choir and the orchestra. I strongly recommend giving pulling a visit if you are looking for a church home that is more open-minded than some of the more conservative faith homes in the Triangle.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Rev. Dr. Nancy Petty officiate our wedding! I followed Pullen before I met my husband, and I am so thankful that Nancy was willing to work with us for our interfaith ceremony. Pullen is a rare gem in this world of division.

It is a welcoming community, and the church staff are friendly and more than willing to help in whatever capacity you desire. I think the congregation is quite supportive and proud of the LGBT community, and the congregation is looking to be an active change agent on Hillsborough Street and the Raleigh community.

A wonderful loving place that accepts all and teaches the true meaning of Jesus' love. A place without judgement. A place filled with the Spirit that is truly trying to spread love and justice for all, not fear and bigotry like the people below who gave Pullen only 1 star.

This church gave us 5 star treatment during our march for civil rights. They allowed us to stay for free and provided meals. I would recommend them to anyone.

They do a Awesome job on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon feeding the homeless . They are also a very Great church to everyone who goes by there during the week .

So great to have a place that stands up for real morals and does "unto the least of these" and "welcomes the alien" and lives "blessed are the peacemakers." Truth, justice, mercy, and community still mean something here.

Excellent place to have class also to learn and grow with each other.
