I tried ordering here from DoorDash, and I was impressed with all of it! Orange chicken was perfectly spicy, crispy on the outside, and actual white meat!! Both the egg roll and spring roll are great, but I liked the egg roll best flavor-wise. Great portions, and would order here again for sure.

A very well run and inexpensive Chinese food restaurant, you can tell inside that the business has been running successfully for quite some time. We were greeted promptly, the food was prepared quickly, and the taste was easily at, or even above, the quality I was expecting. It really hit the spot and satisfied one of those out-of-nowhere cravings. The portions were generous and for under $30 I was able to provide 2 meals each for myself and my fiance.

The only restaurant that gets the order right every time on delivery - good value and good food

I ordered late last night,after I placed my order a Chinese man called. Yes,he was kind of rude,told me it was a Chinese restaurant not McDonald's and they did not have ranch(chicken nuggets were part of my order). He also told me I'd be charged extra,I'm not from the area so I did not realize I was a bit out of the way but they still delivered. To the people complaining they are rude,get over it because for late night food delivery it was delicious! The delivery driver was an absolute pleasure to talk with when he delivered the food and extremely polite.
Now the food,I ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo. The chicken was perfect,crispy not dry or overcooked LOVED IT! The fried rice that came with it rocked,it was simple fried rice with egg in it. The egg roll was the best I've had in years! I loved ALL of it,sweet and sour sauce perfect! The chicken nuggets and fries were what you would expect. They were fried and good as well,but I got them for the kids so I tried one of each,they ate them up quickly. Overall, it was awesome for late night Chinese food delivery!

My Glorious Shanghai, you make my toes curl in excitement every time gobble that chicken down my gullet. You are the only thing that keeps me sane. If there are a million Shanghai I am one of them. If there are a thousand Shanghai fans I am one of them. If there are no Shanghai fans, I am dead.

I've only had their delivery, but it's always good. Consistently solid food and fast delivery. My go to place for Chinese delivery. Haven't had a single bad experience. Highly recommend the beef lo mein and the fried dumplings.

Love the staff here! BEST crab rangoons/cream cheese wontons hands down. Beef and broccoli is really good too 😋 open super late too

My roommate and I ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai, Vegetable Fried Rice, and the Clear Soup. We were initially skeptical due to all the bad reviews but we ended up really liking it. Everything was cooked very well and all the food tasted great. Not only that, the service was pretty good too. Ultimately, I would definitely recommend and look forward to eating it again

Hands-down my absolute most favorite restaurant in all of Raleigh in the RTP area. The staff is extremely friendly and playful not only with the new customers but also the college students that frequent in the restaurant. I have never liked lo mein but now it’s one of my favorite go to dishes. And if you get a chance to try their wings they’re the best I’ve ever had in my entire life from anywhere

I ordered from door dash and the food is so good I usually don't leave reviews but this place needs a higher rating cause it's so yum-yum

I've been eating here since college (2005) and it's never let me down.

One time they forgot a vegetable pint in one of our delivery orders, and before we could even call to correct it, they had come back to deliver the missing vegetables with a couple of free drinks. Great customer service.

Was hesitant to try because it was the only place open past 11pm. LOVE THIS PLACE! The sweet and sour chicken was the best chicken I've ever had at a Chinese food place. The white rice was perfect. The fried dumplings were delicious. BEST house lo mein ever....Their egg rolls were crispy and tasty. Didn't need any sauces or anything. Quick service, and they deliver. We opted to pick up. Located in the center of NC State. Large dining area. Staff was super courtious. Sad we live so far away. Will definitely be a stop on any and every visit my family takes to Raleigh in the future!

They might be rude & slow delivering based on the reviews but I order through grubhub. I've never called if I had to I'd leave a negative review. Other than that I love their shrimp fried rice & their vegetable lo mein along with their spring egg rolls. The chicken wings are okay not the best but okay. I will say this they give you what you pay for only at this location on grubhub in my opinion.

Best Chinese in the WHOLE state of North Carolina!!!! I've been eating here for nearly 10 yrs come this September...hands down the best ever. Anywhere around Raleigh area, they delivered to me. I was almost in Cary town limits and they still delivered! I recommend to everyone to try it! All my friends from all over the state are hooked!!!!
Kevin is the best most reliable owner and cook there is. He has trained his kitchen staff the perfect techniques on how to perfect every dish!

Man, I don't know about all of these other folks, but every single thing I ordered last night was delicious! I had:

General Tso's Chicken: chicken was perfectly crispy and hot. The sauce was awesome. Dark red, just a hint of sweet, good and spicy. Just the right thickness. They did not overload it with broccoli (I personally don't like broccoli), so I was able to get rid of it easily (probably should have ordered it without but next time... ). I ordered (and received) extra of the little hot peppers. To me, this was the gold standard for General Tso's.

Egg Rolls: The wrapper was crispy on the outside but sort of chewy on the inside (which I liked). Filling was delicious and they were hot even after a 15-minute car ride.

Fried rice: this was pretty much plain fried rice but mix in the General Tso's sauce and lots of soy sauce, and you've got something awesome.

Crab Rangoons: Tasty! I filled them up with the doctored up fried rice that I mentioned above and they rocked!

Note: I walked in and placed my order and took it to go this particular time. I have ordered delivery from them before, and it did take quite a while to get there (like 1-1/2 to 2 hours). But even so, the food was delicious those times, too.

Language barrier could explain some of the problems people talked about in other reviews (especially for call-in orders). I believe going in alleviates this kind of problem. At any rate, they were friendly enough, but don't need a super friendly staff, as long as the food is awesome!

Very pleased..tasty Chinese food. The shrimp fried rice was delicious fried rice that comes with the egg :). Its not that cheap yellow rice. Wished they sold mumbo sauce, but their sweet n sour sauce tasted great with my wings

The best Chinese food delivery in Raleigh. The chicken is good quality not like some places I’ve tried. Everything I’ve had is delicious! I’ve been eating here for 10 years.

Best Chinese food ever! Fresh and tasty! Generous portion sizes. I am still eating leftovers today. This was the best Chinese food I have eaten since leaving Seattle, WA. If Shanghai Express keeps this up I will be a forever customer. Dishes ordered: General Taos Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Triple Delight. And Crab Ragoons. So many fresh vegetables and slices of chicken, beef and shrimp. Sauce was so tasty!!!!!😃😃😃😃 The egg rolls are huge. Tasty! Full fresh cabbage.

This place taste AMAZING! It’s a cute humble little shop and the people work hard. The owner was very nice and I was thankful for the service. I highly recommended the sesame chicken if you don’t like your chicken overly breaded and overly sweet, it was perfect! Thank you

Ignore the negative noise. I deliver for Gumbys pizza on the weekends and eat here all the time late at night. This place is great for what it's supposed to be, a quick chinese takeout. I usually get the bean curd, boneless ribs or house special lo mein.
