The Big Field at Dix Park

Huge area off of NC State's campus with lots to explore and do. Has a fenced dog park, flower fields, trails, big open field, and baseball field. There are port-a-potties, water fountains, some tables, and people often bring hammocks

On one side of the field are bench swings, and on the other are hammocks. The field is really big and flat, so a good place to play sports games or lay out in the sun.

Great area to hold big events, fly your drones or kites.

We came here for the July 4th event. I had fun with all the food trucks, live music, and games for children like foam room. Finally, fireworks are amazing.

I visited Dix Park for the annual Pow Wow for Indegenous day! Great community event on beautiful grounds!

Dix Park is w hidden gem in Raleigh! I say hidden because it seems like the city is just starting to understand what an awesome, centrally located park it is! Large fields with enormous old oak trees dotting the landscape. For years it seemed like the coty couldn't decide whether to lean into the "park" aspect or sell it off to developers. Luckily they have decided to use it as a park. In the last few years and held concert festivals and fireworks shows here. It really is a beautiful area! I would love to see the city of Raleigh if you're more to improve the grounds and make it the showcase that it should be!

This park is so big and beautiful! The clean up crew deserves a raise and incentives after the festival that just passed in the beginning of the month! I was so impressed with how well kept and beautiful it is! When I come back to Raleigh! I’m definitely going to come and enjoy this park!

Huge open field, slightly undulating, there's people shooting rockets, flying drones, playing Frisbee golf, practicing soccer, training their dogs, walking, biking, all of that was going on the morning I was there and everyone had plenty room to do their own thing.

Bloody hello park!! I went for a pow wow and could not believe the magnitude of this park! Not only can you enjoy the lush green everywhere ypu look and beyond I got to see and play with puppies of all sizes because there was a dog park there too!. Hammocks were comfy as well!

Very nice field and a lot closer to us than I realized. We attended the Skywatching at Dix Park event. Lots of nice astronomy buffs set up their telescopes and let us take a look at Saturn, Mars, and the moon. Great outing for Y guides!

It was a Beautiful Balloon Glow, but they sent us around in circles for 30 minutes to find the parking. They need to put the correct address down for the parking and have signs posted. Also, having people that actually know where the parking is would be so helpful.

Dix Park is Raleigh’s Central Park. A beautiful break from the city with great open areas, views and activities to enjoy. We love bringing our dog any chance we get. The sunflowers are a wonderful addition to the park when they’re blooming as well.

The field is really big. Probably the biggest field in the Raleigh area. You will love the place specifically the hammock area.

Safe distance picnic. Lots of space to run and play. Lots of folks playing and some flying kites!! Had a great time for first time at DDix.

What a great experience to be out on the big Field on a clear, cold night, with 3 astronomy clubs, live quartet playing familiar songs and star gazers of all ages enjoying seeing the stars through impressive telescopes!

Incredible 4th of July celebration! It's a lovely space that was missing in Raleigh.
