When it comes to our pets is something serious to us and we look for a place where we want them taken good care of.I’ve had very bad experinced in other places but this place I really recommend it. Dr.Brown is a very outstanding experienced Dr. she took her time with my puppy didn’t rush gave us some options on a few things we were concerned about and a very sweet soul. Alisson her assistant very nice also took her time to answer some questions we had and explain to us every question while we waited for Dr. Brown to come in.The staff upfront also very nice. I will be definitely be taking my puppy there from now on.

Oak Heart Vet Hospital has been an amazing resource for our pet bunnies over the years. Dr. Brown is a calm and gentle soul, and very knowledgeable about rabbits and she genuinely cares. I appreciate that she doesn't jump to evasive procedures like some other vets would and provides extra knowledge for bunny care. We just had an opportunity to meet Dr Rochte and he was very understanding and has a very thoughtful and caring demeanor. He was very thorough with checking our bunny not only for the issue I brought him in for but also his general well being and health. I highly recommend them for not recommending expensive procedures if they are not needed, and for causing the least amount of stress for our animals. They are truly caring individuals and take their time to really assess things and provide the best possible care. Some vets are about the money but they are all about the care.

The BEST! We have our 12 senior dachshund and our 4 month old dachshund at Oak Heart. Every employee from the moment we walk in the door goes above and beyond to ensure we are happy and healthy!

Dixie Trail is an outstanding animal clinic. I've been going here with my rabbits for almost two years and I've never had a bad experience. The techs are always friendly, legitimately care about my animals (some of them know me by name now, which is nice) and are knowledgeable, and the vets are great to work with. Doctor Brown is my personal favorite, but I've also seen Doctor McKinnish and she's been very helpful as well (she was great with one of my rabbit's ocular issues).

I've had two rabbits spayed here, and a tooth root abscess removed from the third and all came through their surgeries successfully. Our latest rescue has just been scheduled for her spay, and I am confident that they will do an excellent job.

It can be hard to find a vet that's knowledgeable about rabbits, especially if they're as reasonably priced as Dixie Trail, but they've yet to disappoint me!

TLDR; I'm super picky about vet clinics, but I love this one.

Our cat had a great time there and got all cleaned up. They are very on top of communicating with us on the plan. We will be back when Dave needs another haircut.

My dog's normal vet was full so they referred me to Oak Heart. My dog had been limping and Oak Heart was able to work her in the same day I called. They allowed me to drop her off and worked her into the schedule when they were able. After they examined her they called me and thoroughly explained everything and my options. The staff was very friendly and not pushy. They even called me the next morning to check on Shakori. I was pleased with my visit and the care they showed to my senior dog.

My review is regarding the wonderful care my dog Sofia received from Dr. Rochte in 2019.

My dog Sofia had been experiencing low urine specific gravity, increased thirst, and increased urination since the beginning of 2018. From 2018-2019 I worked at three different animal hospitals and she was seen by the veterinarians I worked with.

Her symptoms are associated with a variety of diseases and we did diagnostic testing for the more common disorders. From kidney disorders (kidney failure and kidney infection) to hormone disorders (Cushing's, Addison's, hyperthyroidism, and sugar diabetes). All diagnostics came back clear and I was told it was probably behavioral.

I ended up getting hired at Oak Heart as a veterinary receptionist and working alongside Dr. Rochte. He was the first Doctor in awhile that genuinely seemed to care about my dog's quality of life and symptom relief. I mentioned to him that I was interested in doing testing for diabetes insipidus but had been shot down by previous DVMs due to the rarity of the condition.

At this point Sofia was well into her senior years and he wasn't comfortable doing a water deprivation test. Instead he wanted to do a trial of Desmopressin and to monitor her USG. Within weeks we saw an increase in the concentration of her urine and a reduction in her PU/PD. We finally had our diagnosis and treatment plan.

She continued to get better and no longer struggled with her prior symptoms. She regained access to a lot things she lost while we sought a diagnosis. No more crates or playpens, hello couch! Her swimming pool even came out of hiding!

Sofia ended up passing away in September of 2020. Yet I am writing a review two years later because I'm genuinely thankful for Dr. Rochte.

I no longer work at Oak Heart, nor do I live in NC anymore. I have no reason to lie about my experience. If you're currently looking for a phenomenal DVM in the RDU area I 10/10 recommend Dr. Rochte.

We are new to the area and had a wonderful first experience at Oak Heart Veterinary Hospital. They were able to fit us in last minute, and helped give me peace of mind when my dog wasn’t feeling well. Dr. Rochte listened to my concerns and was very thoughtful in providing me with the best recommendations for my dog. He was incredibly thorough, knowledgeable and my dog was comfortable the entire visit. Everyone that I encountered at the facility was professional, friendly and I trust that my dog will get excellent care here.

Had such a great experience here! With a (now retired) vet in my own family, I always grew up with animals in excellent care and was slightly picky when choosing a new vet. When my cat started vomiting, I knew I had to take him in and Oak Heart was able to sneak us in same-day! Mr. Whoopie is a sweet sweet boy, but when he gets scared he can be very difficult so I've always dreaded the day that he'd have to be taken in to another vet. Dr. Rochte and the team were so kind and provided excellent care for Whoopie (despite him giving everybody a tough time when it came to any type of hands on care). Dr. Rochte was very professional and thorough - he walked me through everything he was thinking before doing it and was very transparent with the process of treating Whoopie. The front desk staff and all the technicians were fabulous as well. You can tell everybody at this clinic genuinely loves what they do. Amazing place with amazing people! I am so glad to have such a great vet in the area. Sparty on!

I had to take my rabbit here for surgery to get part of his ear amputated. Let me tell you, this has been by far the BEST experience I’ve had with any vet. It is very hard to find someone who will see exotics or find someone who actually knows enough about rabbits to help. I was very nervous at first taking him to a place he’s never been before but the entire time I felt safe and knew he was getting the best care he could possibly get. The vet informed me of everything he was going to do in great detail and also explained all of his concerns. He clearly knew what he was doing and just wanted the best for Chihiro and it didn’t go unnoticed. Every single staff member at Oak Heart was very kind and helpful. Any questions I’ve had since his surgery have been answered and they do not hesitate to help one bit. I’m so thankful for how caring they have been towards my baby. The surgery was successful and he is gonna be okay. Thanks to you guys. Thank you so much.

We see Dr. Rochte but love all of the staff here. The front desk is really nice and helpful. The practice takes plenty of time for my fearful pup.

I had a fantastic first visit experience here. The staff was friendly, attentive and made myself and my dog feel at home. Cheyenne, our vet tech, was especially supportive. She helped me get set up on a great monthly payment program for regular care for my elder dog. The doctor was knowledgeable and had results right away. I would absolutely recommend!

I have been taking my 4 month old Italian Greyhound here since I got him at 8 weeks. The nurses and doctors are extremely helpful and always willing to answer questions (even if they’re stupid, which I’m sure mine are as a first-time dog owner haha). Planning on sticking with Oak Heart for as long as we’re in Raleigh!

My family has been customers of Oak Heart for over 20 years. Unfortunately, the reason we were here this week was to put down our family dog, Love. We knew it was the right time for Love to go, but that doesn’t make the process any easier. The staff were compassionate, understanding, and explained every step of the process. They let us stay as long as we needed.

I wasnt aware that my dog would need quarantined/isolated upon his arrival, due to his cold. (Makes sense, i just didnt know) The confusing arrival made understood (while in a less than orthodox way, very clearly) and we moved forward. The Vet takes care of our rabbit too, and was in looking sincerely, and had me out quickly and with exceptional information. The latter being the standard efficiency, concern, and consideration, we have come to know of the business and will return accordingly!

We have been going to Oak Heart at Dixie Trail since we got our pup. He has been having a lot of GI issues since we got him and we go to the vet much more then anybody would like. With that being said Dr. Rochte has been truly amazing and all of the staff has been very understanding and compassionate towards us and our dog. The Dr. always takes the time to thoroughly explain everything and answer any questions. We are very grateful for all of the staff at Dixie Trail and we know our dog Ruger is always happy to see any of them. We also go to the South Saunders location for the day care and day school with Monica. Rugers tail starts wagging a mile a minute when the building comes in eye sight- highly recommend!

Seriously such a great experience! My dog has severe separation anxiety and takes awhile to warm up to people, which can make him aggressive. Going to the vet has always been a traumatizing experience for him, but Dr. Rochte and the staff could not have handled him any better. I was seriously shocked at how comfortable my dog was and never got close to acting aggressive!! They are amazing!!
