If you’re visiting Raleigh, Sound Off Records is a must visit. Even if you don’t have a record player it’s worth stopping by for the nostalgia and cool retro items they have for sale. Anna and her 2 pups are so nice and just add to the chill vibe here.

Super cool shop with a wonderful selection of records, CDs, tapes and fun and weird old stereo equipment and turntables. Looking for a hard to find Sun Ra album? Go here. Looking for some 25 cent shlock records for weird samples? Go here. Looking for some reasonably priced soundtracks, Pat Methany Group records or filling gaps in your Herb Alpert collection? Go here. Just go here anyway, it's a good place with good people.

This place is amazing. Give yourself enough time to go through all of the records, you won't be disappointed! Nice atmosphere and the owners were so nice! This was our first time here and we were impressed. We will be back!

I made the mistake of going in after hours when they were closed but the owner invited us in anyways. I was interested in purchasing a stereo receiver and he stayed and cleaned/tested the entire set up for us all when they were supposed to be closed. The shop is awesome. Attached is the pioneer receiver I got, it's probably 40 years old but is in near factory condition after he worked on it.

The coolest record store I've been in. Anna, is the absolute best. Highly recommend stopping in.

I was looking for a turntable to start my vinyl journey and I was overwhelmed looking at options online from Best Buy, Target etc. I decided to come here to find a used turntable and one of the owners here helped me and my husband find exactly what we were looking for. He also spent a great deal of time going over different setups and I really appreciated the patience and honesty he gave us. I left with a Technics dd22 and I am loving listening to the vinyl I own. I will be back to this store in the future and I recommend others come here, especially newbies who aren't sure about where to start.

Great local shop! Super friendly small business. The selection was pretty impressive despite the fact that it's a small location. It's cozy, friendly, easy to navigate. A great resource for true collectors. Check it out!

Great all around record store. Very good selection of eclectic music, plus some vintage stereo gear too. Anna & Aaron are the best! :)

I recently visited and had a fantastic experience. The jazz selection was absolutely fantastic and quite frankly, the best I've seen in the area. Additionally, the people who worked there were incredibly helpful and willing to go out of their way to help me find the exact records I was looking for. All in all, I had a great time and would highly recommend this store to anyone looking for a great selection and friendly service.

Great little record store hidden away in a non-descript strip mall. Lots of reasonably priced jazz records and a good selection of rock music. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Have been several times and will definitely come back.

I've had many great visits to this shop over the years. It has a charm like no other, partly because they have records and a very nice selection of HiFi Equipment, even cool lights for your music room!

I received amazing customer service from the amazing Husband and Wife duo there. Aaron really cares about his customers and goes out of his way to make them happy. He helped me inspect a pair of speakers I had just purchased and even cleaned them up a bit. He also ran premium speaker cable from the speakers (for a small fee). He charged me a reasonable price for this service.
I'm so happy stores like this still exist, they're a dying breed, especially record stores where the owners are happy to see you and help!

Years ago Aaron's wife (I don't know her name) recommended an obscure record to me that was still sealed, I took a chance and absolutely loved it.

You never know what gold you will find in this well organized, friendly shop.

Go..go now!

i visited here a few weeks ago and it's pretty much a gem on my map to visit every so often; great jazz selection (jean-luc ponty, deodaro, etc) at reasonable prices! even saved the dog in the store from jumping out into the street

Highly recommend! From the second i called the store, Anna was really patient with my many questions about setting up a turntable for my daughter. Very helpful on the phone and even more so when we went to the store. Showed us what they had, how to set everything up, let us test the equipment and gave very helpful tips. Great selection of records too. We left with a turntable, a set of speakers, two albums and lifted spirits. Encourage anybody who sees this review to give them a call or visit the store.

Without a doubt my favorite record store. From my very first forray into the store, Aaron and Anna have been fantastic. I love the feel of the store, quaint, eclectic, but the care they have for the business is evident. Not just good for digging/looking through records, but good for a hang/music discussion. Honest probably to a fault, always telling you straight on the overall quality of a record. Very fair pricing. Also love their stereo room/safe. Have bought several pieces here, again, finding the honesty refreshing. I do frequent several different stores between NC and Fla. However, this is my only must go to whenever I am back in Raleigh.

You may miss the record store with it's subtle entrance, but make no mistake that the staff and environment are welcoming.

I was visiting the area after driving 3 hours for a weekend getaway, and decided to visit the local record stores. I found a 1$ record of the Best Hits of The Platters in good condition, and when I went up to make the purchase it was on the house. Initially I insisted on paying for it, or at least purchasing something else, but they said don't worry about it. I would say to don't expect this to happen, but when it does it's wholesome and kind. Check this place out if you're in the area.

Amazing record store with a very good collection. This was my first visit to this store and it was so inviting - will make many trips surely. Picked about 5-7 25cent records and most of them were in very good condition. As a beginner to the vinyl world, this place was a welcome find.

Drove from Chapel Hill to check out Sound Off for the first time. The owner knows her stuff, is not trying to gouge with internet pricing and she obviously cares. Some great jazz, definitely worth the trip and absolutely worth spending money here to keep this shop around. I will be back. Thank you.

This is definitely my favorite record shop in the city. Great selection across plenty of genres, and super friendly staff. I especially appreciate their selection of old/refurbished Hi-Fi equipment, which sets them apart from the others. And a big plus for having a large "new arrivals" section, which makes aimless bin diving a lot more fun.

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Went in with a hand-me-down turntable and little experience with sound equipment, and Aaron took the time to find the best setup for us. He was knowledgeable, and presented several options, always keeping our budget and space restrictions in mind. We walked out with a vintage receiver, speakers, some great records and a lot more confidence in setting our new system up. Would highly recommend to any and everyone!

Super awesome experience! Staff/manager Aaron is very friendly and was helpful with any questions. Huge selection with great prices. Could spend hours in there listening to music and browsing vinyl. Will come back next time I need a new record
