Marianne Beck Memorial Library

This little library is the best. Awesome librarian and volunteers! It is a place to come to for quiet reading or studying. In the Education Center, the library offers great programming such as story time and chess club. As a perk for families with young children, there is an awesome playground behind the library. A library and park together, it can’t get any better.

This is a Library like no other ! The staff and volunteers are amazing. There are activities all week long for all ages and interests. If you are looking for a quiet place to read, to pick up a new hobby or to meet some new local friends, this is the place to be. Our Howey library is definitely one of a kind !

The Howey Library does a lot to keep the community together.
The library sponsors many good and imaginative programs like:
* Book Club, Yoga every Tuesday morning at 8)) AM. That is before the library opens.. *Interesting and imaginative special event and art projects, *Occasional Classes and Programs sponsored by the Friends of the Library *Canasta and other card games *Majong *Monthly programs for the many Home School kids in the area, * Native Plant Garden, *Playground Park and outdoor reading area directly out the back door,
*A bank of computers for community use *Story hour for young kids,
* A Very kind and helpful Library Director Tara Hall, *Tara Hall is the only paid employee, *All the others at the desk, re-shelving, and doing work at the library are VOLUNTEERS.
I know of no other library in the area that has so many working volunteers.

My favorite library ever! Staff and volunteers always make everyone feel welcome. Very helpful. Fun. Many different activities and always a good selection of material.

I’m impressed at the number of activities sponsored by our little library. Tara and the volunteers are pleasant and helpful. It offers computers, printing, copying, coffee, local news, local advice, Howey history and a great book collection.

Great place for the kids. They always have lots of activities.

How a person gives a free place for education and entertainment one star is beyond me. Nice librarians that helped us much over the years. Air conditioned, clean bathrooms and well stocked.

Great library, librarian very knowledgeable and always helpful. Volunteers are super. If they don't have it they'll get it.

I never give 5 stars because there is always room for improvement.

This library is very welcoming to the community it serves. The staff is extremely polite, knowledgeable and is very active in bringing the community together with various events and contributions.

I highly recommend a visit to see for yourself a prime example of how a community library should operate.

The library should be a quiet place to go to read, to study or just have peace and quiet. This place is loud, the librarians are loud. They have board gaming gong on, people in cell phones, screaming kids, etc.
Do not come here looking to get away from distractions so that you can study or read. This shouldn't be called a library, its more like a community center!

I went there hoping to study in a quiet environment but the librarians were too damn loud. They're supposed to keep people quiet but they are the ones that keep on talking. The library is supposed to be a place to read and study not talk about your acid reflux problems.
