I stayed at the Blue Goose for about a month while doing a travel assignment in Milledgeville last year. It was sufficient, but I'm writing this review because of the bakery found inside the lodge. We have all heard the proverb "don't judge a book by its cover" and that definitely applies to here. You will have a hard time finding a better Oreo Cheesecake anywhere else.

The Blue Goose Hostel is amazing - the owners are always very communicative, accommodating, and helpful. The beds are comfortable, with plenty of outlets every time I've stayed. I've used the Blue Goose Hostel several times this year, and stayed in the bunk room and the upstairs private room. Both are exceptionally clean, and the bathrooms are spacious. The private room has it's own bathroom, and the bunk rooms have two bathrooms downstairs available. The bunk rooms are right next to a kitchen that you can stock with your own food - and the Dollar General is less than a 2 minute drive away. The hostel is geared towards cyclists, and bikes are welcome throughout the hostel. The rooms are spacious enough for the bikes as well, although I've always been traveling via car. The hostel is in a centralized location between Milledgeville, Dublin, and Macon, and I've spent many trips in Milledgeville and Macon throughout the weekend. The hostel is cute and cozy, with a Southern Home charm.

This place is outstanding!!! I spent one night here while biking from Atlanta to Savannah. They gave me amazing homemade oatmeal creme pies at no cost and they have a really nice stocked area with sodas and snacks and ice cream. The owner offered to let me hang out while the rain died down. Extremely accommodating, couldn’t have been happier!!!

I stayed at the Blue Goose Bike Hostel for a weekend of training and bonding with our cycling team. We had an awesome time. The facilities aren't anything fancy, but they're nice, and the woman running the place was very accommodating. The meals provided for breakfast and dinner were great.

I had the pleasure of officiating a bike race put at the Blue Goose... These are good people! I've never been at a bike race where they provided breakfast and lunch. The hostel was warm and friendly. I am going to pre-request to be assigned to this race next year! It's a long drive, but I will do everything I can to support this place! I hear you can stay there for the upcoming banana pudding festival!

We stopped in for cheesecake, treats and Georgia grown items. The ladies were very helpful and showed us around their kitchen and store! We'll be back.

I stayed 2 nights for the Middle Georgia Epic bike race this past weekend. Had a blast with the race and really enjoyed the accommodations. I haven't hosteled since my youth in Ireland. Brought back memories. Clean, comfortable with very hospitable hosts. I hope I'll be back soon.

Wonderful accommodations in an out of the way place! Donna was an awesome hostess and let me in on really short notice. Pics online tell it all. If you find yourself close by, stay for the night - or more - you'll be glad you did!

We are treated like royalty. Always nice to escape. It's very low key and peaceful. Dogs are allowed. Just be prepared to keep them on a tight leash in case there are other dogs that aren't socialized.
