Found this place off of Instagram and the pasta looked incredible so had to stop by and give it a shot. Luce does not disappoint! Very short wait after ordering.

Served hot and ready to eat while walking downtown. Not too saucy but tons of flavor!

Pasta was delicious. Pizza was also good. Really liked their crust. Prices were not bad at all for the quality and amount of food. Would recommend and return.

Paid $12 for a special spicy sausage con vodka pasta. The pasta was delicious (not broken, so a little sloppy to eat). The celery could be cooked more (it was very cruncy). I prefer the efficiency and accessibility of this place over a sit down Italian restaurant.

It’s hand-made, fresh pasta in a cup! (He does pizza too but i haven’t tried). Quite literally a hole in a wall, it’s the best one-man show you’ll ever find. While it seems like you might wait a while, I got my pasta in about 1 minute. The ragú in the “bolo” pasta is absolutely divine. The portion sizes are bigger than they look - he really packs the pasta in there.

Correction - there is at least a second guy in a nearby kitchen.

A brightly lit, literal hole-in-the-wall for the BEST takeaway home-made pasta you will probably ever find. It’s really hard to find a decent al dente-cooked pasta made so well in the states, and this little spot will surprise you with its quality and flavor. Complimenti to the chef who never sits down, and buon appetito!

Love the pasta here. Definitely get the vodka sauce pasta as that was the best one. It looks small but they really pack in the pasta into the container. Recommend ordering online and heading there a few minutes early as they are fast in getting the pasta ready to go. Kim

Absolutely delicious. The pasta was so fresh. It soaked up some of the sauce so when taking a bite, it would be complete. I had the Bolo dish, which was phenomenal. It was especially tasty and heartwarming during our visit on a cold winter day in February. My wife had the popular Cacio e Pepe entree and it was just as fantastic. The legitimate "hole in the wall" restaurant is an amazing homage to the phrase as it serves 5-star quality Italian pasta dishes right from a corner of a building, under a single streetlight. It is ONLY takeout, so when you are eating, you can walk around the rest of downtown, while enjoying the fresh air with your pasta. I will recommend this to anyone who decides to venture to Charlottesville from now on!

This is a magnificent hole in the wall pasta place, literally! It's take out/outdoor seating only, and all the pastas are served in cardboard containers, so it's feels very comfortable and casual.

They do also serve pizzas Thursday through Saturday, but I went on a Tuesday so wasn't able to try them.

As for the pasta, this was some of the best and most authentic pasta I've had in the U.S.! It was cooked perfectly al dente and the sauces were magnificent. The meatballs were fantastic as well.

This was an absolutely incredible find and I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area!

The best pasta I’ve ever had, i had the fettuccine, the flavour is so right, fragrant, and delicious, the noodles are wide and beautifully cooked, the sauce is so creamy and delicious, and the meatballs were huge, for the price it’s unbeatable. It should be a must try place for everyone that comes to cville. I’d come back just for this pasta

Great to go italian food. Pasta was great and pizza was best in Charlottesville! They also have some outdoor seating! Great ambient!

This place is a hidden gem! Literally a hole in the wall, but the food was amazing! Beautiful hand cut pappardelle cooked aldente and pork ragu, with maybe a hint of cumin? It was very good. Pizza margherita was excellent as well, with a slight hint of sourdough in the crust. Very unique little spot! It is a little expensive, but hey, you get what you pay for.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here. The employees showed excellent service and made excellent foods. Presentation was top tier. We came during the rush and we’re still served promptly. I’m incredibly impressed with the food, service, and overall experience. We had the special and a margherita pizza which were both terrific and got the CT crunch gelato to go which I can’t wait to dig in to. The special was a mushroom, roasted red pepper, and golden tomato sauces ravioli which was filled with goat cheese. The specials don’t miss. S-Tier work and a must have.

Stumbled across this delightful shop. Ordered takeout pasta, pizza and salad. Friendly staff prepared it quickly and we were very happy with our dinner.

I’ve had a couple friends recommend Luce as the “best pasta in Charlottesville” & it did not disappoint. I never write reviews, but I couldn’t help myself. This is the best pasta I have ever had… the Oyster Rockefeller Spaghetti is amazing, but the Cacio is the star. This place is divine

This place is all about the quality and the bang for your buck.

Quality: Pretty darn good. Needed a bit of salt, but the little packs they gave us had some. After that it was delicious! Hot and made right in front of us.

Bang for buck: 10 bucks for a whole cup of pasta? Love it. Totally worth it.

Would come again, I hope they make this restaurant in jersey at some point.

A great new addition to Charlottesville. The prices are fair, the portions are just right, the pasta is delicious. The novelty of the walk up window is fun. It's amazing they can produce food like this in a closet size kitchen. Looking forward to coming here for a long time. Definitely recommend for on the run food or anyone who loves pasta (all of us)!

It's hard to describe how much I love this place. Luce if not my favorite restaurant in Charlottesville, pretty dang close. Their constants in the Cacio and Pistou were always on point, and the Sweet Corn Carbonara and Short Rib Stroganoff were my weekend fan favorites whenever they popped up on the menu. And their pick up order timing was hard to compare to many other places in the area. Finally, the friendliness of the staff. They are a hardworking group as they continue to do their best in a pretty small kitchen on a day to day basis. Don't live in Charlottesville currently but hope all the people at Luce know I miss them. If you read this review, do know you should at least try Luce one time, you won't be disappointed.

Great pasta, and had some good food from The Lot as well. Ordering online was very easy. The huge tent was a very welcome way to wait out the rain. Staff were really on top of things. There was live music when I went, which was extremely audible, but it was still nice to listen to.

Order online for a scheduled pickup; you can't go wrong with any dish on the small menu. Make sure to bring a fork or ask for one, because you are going to want to eat out of the carton right away (although I have been known to eat Luce fettuccine with my fingers!).

A literal hole in the wall! Great pasta and pizza! Everything is to go In pretty convenient packaging. I recommend the bolo pasta but there is also some vegetarian options as well!
