Grit Coffee, Downtown

A great coffee shop with a nice selection of breakfast options! The Ethiopian coffee I had was truly exceptional, and the burrito we shared was excellent, featuring perfectly cooked eggs, potatoes, and fresh salsa. The staff were both helpful and friendly, making it a wonderful start to the day!

A great coffee shop that also does a good breakfast. The eggs are freshly cooked to order and a good size bowl of oatmeal with a variety of choice.
The coffee is great, creamy cappuccino amongst others.
Thanks for being my go to coffee place for a week on the road and also for being open at 7am

Super friendly, helpful barista. Had the High Five and it was super tasty. I really only wandered in looking for a drink and a restroom (hard to find on the Downtown Mall), but I really enjoyed my drink (and restroom!) so much that I will plan to come back! Right across from the incomparable Magpie Knits, so great location!

Sunday @ 10am is a bit busy, but my bowl came quick !

Morning walk to downtown Pedestrian Mall in search of coffee from our hotel.

Greeted by two women working, and I do mean working, not a second of rest, this place was busy! But they were so friendly!

Small standing area to wait for order, ample seating in back room, several bar stools at counter area, and outside seating available.

We waited 15+ minutes for our drinks. In the time from our entry into the shop from us leaving, approximately 20 minutes, the batista did not stop making drinks for a second.
The second batista was equally busy taking orders and serving food.
They were a well-oiled machine, working together.

I ordered an iced Chai coffee with almond milk, hands down THE best Chai flavor I've had!
It was worth the wait!

Now, knowing how good the coffee was, I wished we had ordered food...next time!

First time here. What a great start to my morning! Just found out we have one at home in Richmond. My first stop in the morning. Great location on the mall, great customer service , AND the coffee is exceptional! Great breakfast and lunch options .

I always enjoy the breakfast burrito and espresso. Gets very busy on Sunday morning. Very friendly staff. Limited seating in front area, but large back room and also outdoor seating.

Delicious avocado toast for an incredibly reasonable price with generous portions! I didn’t get a chance to try the coffee but the food here is fantastic, along with warm and friendly service. I’ll definitely return!

We were blown away by the breakfast food here. We never expected a coffee shop to have such great food. I am not exaggerating when I say these were the best restaurant grits I have ever tasted. The grit bowl with bacon and fried egg was one of the best things I’ve had in a long time. And the portions are huge for the price!

One of the best iced mochas I’ve ever had!! Definitely a favorite spot for coffee in Charlottesville. I also got the omelette with goat cheese and bacon, which was phenomenal. Super filling (felt like 2 servings to me), but incredibly delicious. Would highly recommend.

Food, coffee, and service are consistently good! Love the pastries and they are very accommodating if you bring your own cup. It tends to get busy around 10am for brunch, but before that time I've rarely had to wait.

The best breakfast burrito I've ever had in Cville. Grit punches way above its weight in the food department, coffee's also very solid.

Fast, tasty, friendly. We were surprised by the breakfast menu when we went in expecting coffee and pastries. Their bacon grits were great and the eggs with a biscuit, preserves, and cubed breakfast potatoes were excellent. There was plenty of seating inside and out. Overall pleasantly surprised.

Had top notch drip coffee with 3 different brews to try. Enjoyed their Costa Rican brew the best. Breakfast burrito with sausage was delicious and had a great salsa on top

I was highly impressed with their omelet, I had no idea a place like thid offered nice omelets like this!! It was delicious.

This was a beautiful shop. We enjoyed the local coffee and watching people in this little community. The streets were clean and had a lot of character. Definitely recommend

I never been to this town in my life but I tasted this coffee beans. I ordered it from Whole Foods. And then I ordered it from their headquarters. I am a Coffee addict and I lived everywhere between Texas, California, Chicago, Maine, Pennsylvania, Kansas. And I tried so many coffee beans in my life. This is by far one of my top three in the United States. If I love someone who loves coffee I will gift him the Ethiopian roast from Grit Coffee.

The Grad - this is the best bowl of grits in town. Service is fantastic, my first time and they decide what was good and they made a perfect suggestion. Absolutely love this place!
