Burtons Grill & Bar

Our first time at Burton’s and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The food was fabulous, wine was very good, and the service was great. Our server (McKenzie) was friendly and professional, very knowledgeable, and went above and beyond. We will definitely be back. Oh and the chocolate cake is to die for.

The burger surprised me. The pickles are made in-house, full of flavor. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had the parmesan fries and the parmesan was fresh and had a rich aged flavor. I absolutely loved the meal and plan on coming back to try the seafood options!

The service was also top notch.

Craig is the BEST BARTENDER and doesn’t mess around with his lemon water. I cannot tell you how fed up I am with the slivers of lemon I get when I specifically ask for a side of lemons with my water. ALSO, the food is great, the atmosphere is lovely, and Craig has amazing social skills as well as making a mean old fashion. We happily drive 3 hours to sit at his bar & chat over phenomenal scallop risotto.

My personal encounter with Burtons Grill and Bar's steak and lobster risotto left an indelible impression. As I took my first bite, the succulent tenderness of the perfectly cooked steak combined flawlessly with the luscious lobster, creating a symphony of textures that played on my palate. The juiciness of each morsel was a delightful surprise, seamlessly blending the richness of the seafood with the robust depth of the steak. The velvety risotto served as a backdrop, infusing its own delicate flavors into this culinary masterpiece. In that moment, the steak and lobster risotto became a sensory journey that showcased the culinary finesse of Burtons Grill and Bar, offering an experience that was nothing short of exceptional.

The best place to eat in Charlottesville if you're gluten free. Our server Dwayne was above and beyond. Very knowledgeable and answered all the questions we had about the menu. The drinks were delicious, the sandwiches (I had the short rib grilled cheese sandwich) are sublime and the desserts were magnificent (they can be a meal of their own). Highly recommend going there.

The ribeye was great. One of the best steaks I have had in a long time. The server was friendly and knowledgeable.

We did have someone in the party order the fillet medium well and they actually prepared it differently to make sure it was cooked to their preference which was really impressive.

Overall it was a good night and would recommend for a group with a wide variety of tastes. They are also VERY considerate of food allergies.

Absolutely the best food ever! We asked our waitress what she recommended. She suggested general chicken, TSO bowl and she was spot on. You could taste every flavor in the bowl. The salad was recommended with the mustard vinaigrette dressing again perfect. We ordered the spinach artichoke dip for starters. Every flavor popped in your mouth, seriously never heard of this Restaurant before and took a chance on it so glad we did highly recommend and cannot wait to go back. The staff was perfection!

Amazing experience if you are gluten free! Never have I been to a restaurant that offered an entire gluten free menu and warm table bread. We have been gluten free for 3 and half years and it is the first time since then being able to enjoy calamari and warm table bread. There was not a bad thing on the menu. We made reservations for 2 nights in a row and took take out for later. We are going to look up our local location when we get home.

Very pleasantly surprised by the quality and attentiveness of the wait staff. They knew exactly what questions to ask to make sure the dining experience was top notch.

Food was most excellent. All made from scratch! The veggie burger is highly recommended.

As a first time visitor, this place was so relaxing and I had took a chance on a video I saw online of this scallop and lobster plate. So I had to try it. The waitress and host at the door was pleasant and the ambiance felt Warm and welcoming.

We went to Burton's for the first time and had lunch today. John was very attentive and kind. He's the best! 10 out 10 will definitely be back!

This was such a nice experience. I was seated as soon as I arrived, even though I was first in my party. I had a server almost immediately get me a drink. The server was very helpful and nice. She was so efficient and professional. She cleared plates, offered drinks without being asked, etc. I got the Bolognese which was amazing. The garlic bread was so yummy. Overall, a really good experience. I would definitely return next time I'm in town.

One of THE best restaurants in Charlottesville. Jason at the helm is the GM of this location and he does an excellent job running this restaurant. The waitstaff are knowledgeable and they treat you very well. They accommodate the needs that you may have. One thing is for certain, food that is prepared here is truly top notch cuisine.

Me and my bf went here for dinner and it was a pretty good experience. It started off bad because we were there for 20 minutes before we even had a server, but we talked to a manager and she said it was just a miscommunication on their part and apologized with giving us free dessert which was really nice! Other than that little misunderstanding in the beginning the service was amazing. Waiter and overall staff was very nice. I am gluten intolerant and this place is AMAZING to go to if you are gluten free! They had gluten free starter bread, gluten free hamburger bun, and a gluten free chocolate cake! They had had other gluten free stuff too so if you are looking for a place that has many gluten free options this is it. I will say though, this is a more fancy type restaurant (which I did not know going in) so I would definitely recommend to wear something nice. I went in wearing a nirvana shirt, jeans, and skater shoes so I felt VERY out of place lol. Overall I rate this place very highly, would definitely go again.

This was our first visit to Burton's Grill & Bar, and I must say it was absolutely fabulous! Wonderful Food, Cozy Atmosphere, and some most Excellent Service!!

The five of us gathered together this lovely Friday evening in honor and in celebration of Friendship, & for the retirement of two beautiful people in our circle, local Educators!!

Burton's is the perfect little spot for these kinds of special occasions, or even just for getting together with your friends over a glass of wine and some good food & conversation! You will not be disappointed!! They even have a gluten free menu, y'all!!

All I can say is everyone who leaves this Restaurant should be leaving with a big ole smile on their faces, just like these 5 Gorgeous Humans in this photo, which a kind passerby volunteered to snap for us as we were leaving!! 😊

Food, drinks, and service were all very good!! Our waitress Brooke was perfectly attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Martinis were strong and food was even better than I was expecting. Will be back :)

Probably the best place to eat if you have any food allergies. A great place to eat too if you don't. Service has always been exceptional. Many interesting entrees and appetizers. Never had a less than excellent dining experience here.

Brianna was an excellent server! Very friendly, responsive, and professional! Quick service, too. Went above and beyond to make our 1st experience a memorable one! The food was outstanding! Top notch burger, tasty short rib grilled cheese, delicious steak, and lobster/scallop risotto (special) was fantastic. Big portions, too. Compliments to the chef! The entire staff was welcoming. Highly recommend!

Nice place. Steak was ok, not cooked exactly as requested but good. French fries were awesome and their general TSO cauliflower was a great treat. My brother had the fish which he loved and my sister had the short ribs which she raves about. They ask up front about any possible food allergies.
