Bought a ham with the hock. Owner happily sliced ham steaks for us. We got back to New York and made THE BEST greens and beans!!! Owner and his wife are so
lovely to talk with! Peanuts are remarkable! The country store is charming and inviting.
Spouse and I love it here! Every trip South, we stop!

This is the real thing, a good old fashioned country store with smoked hams, best peanuts in the world, and rows of homemade jams. You gotta make a stop here if you're on 460.

Saw this store as i was driving by and decided to check it out. Peanuts, peanuts and more peanuts - peanut lovers delight. Purchased a bag of unsalted nuts and some local honey. There's other goodies as well. Gentlemen at the counter was helpful and very friendly.

Awesome customer service. Super-helpful owner gives you the kind of personal service we thought died out in the 60s. Wonderful locally-smoked hams, peanuts galore, and Sundrops in the bottle. Worth a trip of the Interstate even if you don't have the extra time.

Hands down the best Virginia peanuts available anywhere!! They are always friendly and accommodating, and don't even think of asking for chocolate dipped nuts in the summer - just have patience and come back when it cools down to get the absolute best double-dipped chocolate peanuts (and cashews) anywhere on the planet! As an aside, I had been eating their goodies for a decade before I realized that my wife is a 10th cousin of Alcidees Adams (the company's founder), but that doesn't bias my opinion at all. I should also say that they have a huge selection of nuts and other snacks, and if you're a fan of Virginia country ham, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. And you're welcome.

Old country store the way they use to be. Love the smell of locally smoked hams and sausages. Peanuts of all stiles are the best. Lewis the owner was born and raised in the business and a friendly country gentleman through and through. The store carry’s a lot of local items too! Get Lewis to make you one of his famous ham sandwiches.

My son and I stop here every time we pass by when our business deliveries take us down 460. This is a fine example of the country store atmosphere I grew up on. The dried beans they sell when cooked with a bit of ham are outstanding, the peanuts are great and the ham sandwiches are the best you will ever have. Thanks for keeping a bit of country store history alive! See y’all next time.

Definitely a true country store. I was surprised to find the prices weren't crazy over inflated.
I purchased salted the shell peanuts that were really good, a drink and some candy that was homemade and very good. There is a YouTube video I wish I had seen before I went. We were just driving through and saw the billboards. I spoke with the owner and he was super nice. I hope to visit again.

Friendly & family owned. Best Ham sandwich ever! All peanut flavors are delish. Chocolate dipped brittle is my fave. Lots of jams, jellies & spicy mixes.They still have bottled RC cola😊 Stop in, step back in time. You will be glad you did!

Best peanuts and mixed nuts I have ever eaten. Great smell of country hams when you walk in the door. Lots of variety and very good prices. Easy access right on the highway and lots of parking. Stopped on our way to the Outer Banks and then stopped again on our way back.

I stopped in on my way back from a work trip to Richmond. This place is amazing! Best ham sandwich I’ve ever had! And the owners are awesome! I can’t believe I can’t remember their names! You have to go there!

Swung by looking for roasted redskin peanuts since all grocery stores were out for weeks. This store didn’t have any either, but they told me a recipe for how to roast the raw peanuts that they did have in stock. Excellent recipe and fun to make, this store is great!

An incredibly pleasant woman helped me. They have giants hunks of uncooked ham that has endless possibilities. Their peanut selection is as tasty as it is diverse and their cooler has an assortment of drinks I've either not seen or haven't seen in a while. All in all, a fun country store I highly recommend you stop at if you're in the area!

Now, I know this place is famous for their ham, but..... You gotta love the chocolate covered peanuts! There's a nice, thick coating of chocolate that will satisfy the fussiest chocolate fan! Don't forget to stop by for lunch and have Louis make you a delish ham sandwich... Or two. Also, if you walk around a bit you'll find inexpensive treasures and old time candy. Lewis Adams is a great fella!! Very helpful and makes wonderful country ham sandwiches. We stop every time we go by...especially, when on our way to a VT football game. We also buy his hams. He will cut the "ham hock" to cook with black-eyed peas. My husband follows Lewis's cooking directions for the ham and it turns out perfect, every time.
HE IS OPEN EVERY DAY TILL 5:00...except in Jan/Feb when he is closed on Sunday's.

Really nice owner (s). Great chocolate covered raisins, peanuts and almonds. Get the chocolate covered nuts and raisins soon before it heats up and you have to wait until fall.. They have country hams. Lots of jellies, Molasses, and of course peanuts.

This little market is unique in the days of the humongous stores marketing Chinese junkwares. Adams' sells local products at reasonable prices. Their sandwiches are outstanding and delicious! It's always fun to hear some of the see and hear the politics and stories of the area.

This is the most important stop that I make coming back from the Carolina Coast. This is a true country store with the same feel as if you walked through the doors 80 years ago...salted hams and all. I go to get the best VA peanuts around. It’s worth a look.
