What a bakery my wife and I were looking to get a quick bite we found this bakery a cross the street from the hotel what a blessing delicious quiches pastries coffee and bread all made onsite if your in Charlottesville VA find this place and sit down and enjoy

The staff was super nice. The pastries are delicious. The passion fruit tart was outstanding. I have dreams about it, was so good. The lemon tart looks really good too. If you can’t find some thing you like here then you don’t like good food! Stay home 🤤😍 Charlottesville’s premiere bakery.

A serious Charlottesville staple! You can go in and blindly pick an item and you won't be disappointed. I've tried so many of their delicious breads, pastries, cookies, and cakes that I can never make up my mind and choose just one. Top favorites would be any croissant, any tart, the almond shortbread cookie, and the raspberry filled cookies but I think that's just my personal preferences. Have a favorite baked good? Definitely try their version!

It was my first time at this bakery and it won't be my last. It was a little hard to find because of the construction that's going on around it but once I did I wasn't disappointed. The employees were very courteous and polite. I had tons of questions and they were more than willing to answer them all. I only planned on ordering 1 or 2 baked goods. After all the info I got from the employees, that quickly changed. I ended up getting 4 baked goods from the place. And if it wasn't for my somewhat strong will, I would've left with more. I can't wait to be in that area again to try more of their amazing food.

Best bakery in town and wonderful people! Love bringing my children here and treating my friends with chocolate ganache cake! Love their bread as well! Highly recommend!

This is definitely our favorite bakery in Charlottesville ... maybe even Virginia. As a lifelong carb lover, I am obsessed with the bread here. I rarely have a sweet tooth, but I'm constantly craving all the sweet treats from this place! I think it's because nothing is sickly sweet and the ingredients are superior quality. I swear, I feel like I can practically taste the love. I think we're making a weekly stop to stock-up on goodies a new part of our routine.

We stopped by at 9:30 on a Saturday morning and ABC was already hopping. Plenty of folks getting their morning pastries and bread. So many choices and everything looked delicious. Very excited that slices of cake are now for sale. My favorite is the princess cake and a single slice is the perfect size for 2 to share. Not only did we pick up a slice of cake, we ended up walking out with a slice of spinach quiche, a blueberry lemon scone, a chocolate babka, and a mocha explosion. Probably went overboard, but we enjoyed treats for the entire weekend.

This little bakery boasts the best cakes in town. Their European style Princess Cake is the area's favorite birthday cake with a thin layer of marzipan as the top. You can sample it in a cupcake-sized version to whet your appetite. They've got a pastry for everyone, but my favorites are their Italian plum pastries in the late summer. I wait for them every year. I haven't had anything I don't like, and they source as much of the fruit they use locally as they can as evidenced by their seasonal favorites. They make the best kings cake in town as well, if you are looking for one this year! They have an incredible cream puff with pistachios, and I swooned over their local persimmon cream tart. Who does this? I can't stay away!

I never thought I would walk into a bakery and drop $80 on a bunch of goodies because I couldn't choose just 1 item. Albermarle Baking Company just take my whole dang wallet and trade me for some more deliciousness please!!!

This bakery provides the best Artisan baked bread, cakes, pastries, etc. etc. etc. in town. ABC has something for everyone, but my favorites are their Morning Buns, tarts and Cadillac cookies. I haven't had anything that I didn't like there and neither has my girlfriend!! ABC's ingredients are soooo fresh and they source locally. On top of that local restaurants use their bread and supply their desserts.

The interior of ABC stays pretty clean and they have a seating area for people to gather. Thanks for all the tasty goodies Albemarle Baking Company!!

I loooved everything I tasted from this bakery! I know people rave about their princess cake, but I will put chocolate torte on top. Also, the brownie was awesome.
Now I know where to go in Charlottesville for dessert cravings.

The baked goods are delicious and always perfect!! Most are made with organic flour.

The staff is amazing!! Genuinely kind, helpful and efficient. So customer-oriented. Each interaction is wonderful.

Outstanding bakery! The Ham and Gruyere croissant (warmed up) was a delicious handheld breakfast! We also got their baguette, rosemary foccacia, lemon and blueberry scone, and a couple muffins. All were lovely.

Outstanding bakery. I've tried numerous breads, croissants and scones and each has been delicious. I can't claim to know every bakery in Charlottesville, but I doubt any place has better bread or pastries.

Everything I've tried from ABC has been lovely. Their rotating bread schedule includes an excellent ciabatta and olive thyme, and their pastries are all visually appealing and delicious (my favorites are the cream puffs). Would also recommend the Princess Cake (can order by the whole or the slice).

Ordered online after discussing the options with employee. Had never eaten there before. From NC. Niece was having a destination wedding.

We cut in half.

Key Lime and Mini Cheesecakes. We cut in 4ths and placed I. Floral cupcake papers from Hobby Lobby.

3 types of Tarts our Bride would like cut in 4ths and placed in cupcake papers.

Cookies, too. Next time I would cut in 4ths. We cut in half.

Least chosen items were cookies and chocolate raspberry tart. Tart was so, so beautiful. I think the flavors did not quite come through as expected.

I've traveled NYC, London, Paris and couldn't find a better bakery. Our go-to especially if we have out of town guests. If you're local make sure to try the pizza dough as well!

Albermarle Baking Co made the cake for a wedding I recently photographed and WOW. It was both absolutely stunning to look at and absolutely amazing to eat. Delicious, beautiful, classy, elegant, and perfect for any wedding. I can't recommend them enough!

Stopped by to pick up a few treats while in town. The staff are friendly and efficient and happy to help you select what you want.

We tried the lemon blueberry scone and it was moist, full of juicy blueberries, and a perfect density. The lemon wasn’t overpowering and the blueberries were ripe and tart

Also picked up a key lime tart and cherry tart. Both look just as delicious.

Items do sell out so go earlier if you have your eye on something. Cookies, breads, baguettes, cheesy bread, granola, macarons, macaroons (coconut), and bars are all on the menu. They have a selection of cakes available as well, including their Princess cake (also available as cupcakes).

You might enjoy dessert and drinks here. And then take out their Italian bread, pizza dough, cookies and croissants 😋

Well this was an exceptional find. Stopped here traveling from Richmond-Roanoke and oh yes I WILL be stopping again, haha. It was difficult to choose and I most definitely overdid it - tried apple pie, apple donut, queen ahman, shortbread cookies...all delicious, flakey and perfectly sweet. Next time I will go savory and try some other breads and croissants. Very pleasant atmosphere, spacious but not too big or overwhelming and several options for parking. Awesome bakery & thank you for the excellent service.
