We stayed at their snowshoe cabin in April. It was still winter-ish. The location is amazing, near South Lake Tahoe but still away from the hustle and bustle in the wilderness. Their cabins are just fabulous, luxurious. They have good amenities on site, like the sauna, fire pit, free EV charging and more.

Most importantly, it’s pet friendly. Our dog loved every bit of it. We plan to come here once every year now. Thanks for a fabulous experience.

We stayed at the campground and it is the best camp ground I’ve stayed at. The perfect combination of amenities and peace and quiet. Plus you can get passes to a private beach at South Lake Tahoe and that was so perfect for a fun afternoon with our kids.

The camp spot was perfect. We have a 144 camper van and had plenty of room. We were surrounded by trees, a flowing river, rocks. So much exploring for our kids to do right at the site. We had firewood waiting for us and the site was meticulously maintained.

The campgrounds are chef’s kiss. The trees, river and trails were so great. The bridge where you can hang out on enjoying the scenery. Our kids had fun testing out the hammock. There is a bathhouse with running water. I took a shower there and it was great! The cleanest camp bathroom I’ve experienced.

Kelly and Zach were such great hosts. They shared so much history about the campgrounds itself and the area. It was fun to learn the history and all the ways they are preserving and honoring the history.

I wish we would have booked more nights!

One of the BEST campsites I’ve ever stayed in!! From the first interaction to the last, every member of the team was attentive and helpful. Every single morning they were out cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash, and greeting guests with a smile!

Campsite came stocked with wood+fire starter and we were given a glass of wine at check-in. On site there’s a sink for washing dishes, a small market store, hot showers, and even a little sauna. Clearly marked paths, sites, and bathrooms. Ample garbage disposal+bear boxes.

Cannot recommend this spot more highly and can’t wait to return. :)

I decided to splurge and went glamping here. Extremely clean, well-maintained, beautiful and quiet (except for occasional road noise of passing vehicles). There are flushing toilets and showers available as well as a cafe and a full service restaurant. You can have a tent, use a yurt or rent a room. Excellent.

I was there in June. The entire grounds are adorable, scandi chic meets camp. I particularly loved the yurt. It's only 30 minutes and youre at Lake Tahoe but it fields a world away, nestled in nature.

Gorgeous views, wonderful service! A great place to reconnect with the family. A true glamping experience! Would also make a great romantic getaway! The only thing I would suggest is that they figure out a way to make the river more accessible maybe they can make a path with some pavers or add a swimming pool to the Hope Valley location. There really isn't anywhere to swim.

Ten out of 5 stars! I can't say enough good things about this place. We had the best vacation ever and loved it so much we booked it again to bring our kids as soon as we got back from our couples trip.

If you’re looking for a place to really unplug and reconnect with nature, not far from Southlake Tahoe, this is definitely it!

Stop by the restaurant today and had a look around at the resort and wish we had more time to stay there, but can’t believe how neat the resort is with all the wonderful amenities around including the farm to table restaurant!

Brand new, renovations. Had a cabin with a full gas oven/stove and fridge, fresh local coffee and French press. Great location, secluded, chill. Free shuttle to Kirkwood (~20 min) Thurs-Sun, clutch.

A huge thank you to the DH Hope Valley Team for hosting our 2023 Tour of the California Alps - Death Ride wrap-up gathering. The serene and private venue made for an unforgettable day to elevate our recognition to our wonderful volunteers and team members. Thank you for the delicious pulled pork sliders, bruschetta, salad, and warm welcome walk-up bar.
To top off an already great afternoon, we stayed in the Aspen cabin and felt right at home. The delicious Bavarian Pretzels, kids savory mac n cheese and hot brownie ice cream Sunday hit the spot before we hit the lush pillows and hug-like beds. Thank you for a beautiful getaway. Can't wait to return!

Very nice and comfortable rooms. Sauna is an amazing touch for the winter months. The only con is no Wi-Fi. I was hoping to work from home in the cozy cabin but the Wi-Fi wouldn't reach from the main office/restaurant to the cabin. Other than that, love the complementary coffee, the fireplace, super comfy bed, the robe in the room, dog friendliness, the glass of wine at check-in. Will stay here again when I don't have to work.

The staff at desolation hotel are some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever encountered. There’s not many words to describe this place, so simply put, pure bliss. Don’t miss out!

I stayed in one of their RV sites. The grounds of both the camp and resort are beautiful and the food at Sorensen's Cafe was very good and just a short hike or drive away. Really great swimming spots, super dog friendly, and clean facilities. There are also a couple of really cool hikes that you can access from the Resort.

Rustic older cabins. Short drive to hike or x-country ski. Sauna was worthwhile.

Just spent an amazingly relaxing weekend here in the off-grid yurt. Very cold nights (was 1 degree Sunday morning), but very warm and toasty inside the yurt with the propane stove. The staff are all AMAZING and the meals are phenomenal. The team was a bit shorthanded due to sickness, and handled everything with grace and incredible hospitality. We were treated like family - thank you all so much for such an incredible weekend. We will be back.

We took a lovely drive today from Pollock Pines to Wylder in Hope Valley to see the aspens and have lunch at their restaurant. The service and food was top rate, and the four of us had a wonderful time. We sat next to the wood stove, and enjoyed meeting other diners. Fun and friendly staff truly made this a memorable visit!
