Honestly they got some pretty good food and portion sizes for the price. Even though it is quite expensive you pay for the beautiful views of Lake Tahoe. My friends had a great time highly recommend the fried fish it was quite good. The clam chowder also looked good but it does come in a bread bowl. Overall pretty good and there’s some other places nearby to get ice cream and such. Also the way they fry things is so dam good and the zucchini fries were great.

The Grove Beach Bar & Grill had great food (a little pricey), with a great atmosphere as we were there on Father's Day. We ate outside so the atmosphere was nice. There were a lot of people there celebrating. It also overlooks Emerald Bay which is beautiful..

My wife and I went here on our Honeymoon. We decided to drive around the lake and stumbled upon this gem.
It was way calmer than other more touristy places on the lake. We sat on the back deck that's right on the beach and it was golden hour so the sunset made the atmosphere perfect.
Also there is a restaurant is right next to a campground with lots of families and so some of them were taking evening strolls on the beach or playing catch with their kids, which all kind of added to the laid back atmosphere.
I had the fish and chips and my wife had the burger, both were delicious.
Our server was awesome, I think his name was Josh, he was super friendly and super laid back. We got to ask him about his favorite places on the lake to watch the sunset and sunrise and he had very insightful recommendations on places to go see both.

Between the atmosphere and the service this spot made for the perfect night.
Looking forward to coming back!!

This is one of our favorite food destinations in South Lake Tahoe. The food is always outstanding and the view of the beach is breathtaking. Makes the dining atmosphere that much better.

Absolutely outstanding, they just changed ownership and thought they aren’t maybe adjusting as much as they should for seasonality, waiters and waitresses were outstanding and compensated us for waiting. Absolutely outstanding. Awesome service to make up for our wait time. DJ was awesome!! And so was Brad Turner!!

The clam chowder bread bowl was delicious. Pretty view. Nice and quiet but we visited during off season.

We celebrated our Anniversary dinner at the Beacon in South Lake Tahoe. There is a beautiful view on the shore of Lake Tahoe. Our waitress was friendly and was accommodating of my dietary restrictions. The food was delicious. The calamari is the best we have ever had. We had the half portion which was plenty! I liked that they did not serve the tentacles! We can ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo and baby back ribs. They had a good selection of beer and I had their famous Rum Runner.

Great view from inside or out of South Lake Tahoe. Food was great, not fancy, but yummy. Not a ton of different things, but enough for everyone to have something they like.... But you know it is really about the view!

I had the pleasure of visiting this wonderful place about a year ago, and I'm finally taking the time to share my experience. The food may be simple, but it's incredibly tasty. What truly won me over was the ambiance and the captivating view from the window. After enjoying a delightful brunch, we strolled along the beach right in front of the restaurant. The views were nothing short of breathtaking!

In just a week, I'll be returning to this gem, and I'm bringing a bunch of friends along. I can't wait to see how their experience unfolds! 😊

The food was excellent. The calamari was cooked perfectly, light, tender and seasoned to perfection. My family's food was just as perfect. Service was top notch and our server went out of his way to find chocolate milk for my grandson.

We stopped by this restaurant on our first trip to Lake Tahoe for a quick bite between sightseeing. We had no idea that the outdoor seating area had such a BEAUTIFUL view of the shores of Tahoe. As first timers, it was a pleasant surprise! A view you’d never get tired of seeing. Our waiter Jonathon was excellent. He was on point, friendly, and quick to answer any questions we had. We only had drinks and an appetizer (shrimp and sausage nachos) but it was all very good. The nachos had PLENTY of cheese sauce at the bottom as well as shrimp and sausage. Highly recommended this place. You will not be disappointed. It’s a gem in every way!

Hidden place got us completely amazed. Right by the seafront, outdoor seating issues delightful. Food is good, nice service. I wish the birds were a bit less “friendly” though

Our group of five arrived at noon today without reservations and was promptly seated outside lakeside. It was crowded but staff graciously accommodated us. All of the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Staff was great. I’d eat here again anytime, just a lovely setting, good plentiful food and nice people. My mom had the BLAT and said it was best she ever had. Two in our group had clam chowder in bread bowl “delicious “, another had watermelon feta salad, fresh and huge. I had a fried zucchini appetizer and even after everyone ate part of it, we had to bring some home

Came for lunch and were pleasantly surprised.
We were seated very quickly given how crowded it was. They do not take reservations, so plan accordingly.
The food was hot, and the beer was cold.
Highly recommend the fish and chips and the mac and cheese. The burger was good as well.

Second time coming here. Be prepared to wait a long time to get a table. Waited 45 minutes for a table for two. I'd argue the wait was worth it. Ordered the Caesar salad and the Fish n' Chips. Jose our server was great, always attentive. Caesar salad was average, nothing special. Fish n' Chips aren't typical as they're panko breaded and not battered. Chips were good. Unfortunately though, most of the chips were soggy. They soaked up a lot of oil sitting at the bottom of the basket. The tartar sauce that came with the meal is fantastic! My colleague ordered the Lobster Bisque and said it was fantastic. For those with dietary restrictions, the Lobster Bisque and the Clam chowder do not have any alcohol however do have chicken stock. The restaurant had a cover band playing out on the patio and they were pretty great. Combine the music, food, and views, you really can't go wrong coming to the Beacon!

Overall: Nice place for a lunch (and dinner) on the deck looking out at the beach/lake. Food: Looks like their menu has changed and prices are up since the pandemic. Carne Asada street tacos were tasty but would have been better with a side of beans and/or rice (for the $20+ costs). Fish and Chips served a healthy amount of both and were also tasty. The Mahi fish sandwich – fish was cooked nice but was bland…fixed it be adding tarter sauce. The Sausage and Shrimp nachos were unusual (not a common combo) but the report was they were delicious. Drink: Bloody Mary was just right around of spicy, thickness, and alcohol. Atmosphere: the deck is crowded with tables…but not too crowded. Get here early if you want a decent spot (or a spot at all). We arrived at 11:30 and was packed by noon. Price: All the dishes hovered around $20. Gauging from pricing I found online from previous menus it looks like the pandemic took its toll here as well.

Second time there (7-7-2023):
Ordered the Sausage/Shrimp Nachos again...this time not so good. Well, the first few bites were good but eat quick bc the chipotle queso is at the bottom and turning all the chips floppy. After a few mins the thing just turned to mushy soup. Also had the Mac n Cheese. I liked it, but the gals both said its was too runny. Bloody Mary's were again delish.

Very nice lake-side restaurant. Try to get seating outside if the weather is good.
The server Tim was quite friendly and hospitable.

I ordered the calamari and it was great. Very different from all other calamari plates. It was wonderfully crispy and the calamari was a good texture.

You get to see the geese and ducks hanging on the lake shore. Some might even come up to you with open mouths.

Amazing place all around! The views are beautiful and the staff go above and beyond for their customers. The chef went out of his way to make the clam linguine I requested, it was absolutely delicious! Our server was Jack and he was by far the best server we've had to date, going above and beyond for us! You have to have the famous Rum Runners they are awesome and I promise you won't regret it!!!
