Entirely free, and the guy that runs the place sat down with my kids and taught them how to pan gold for 30+ minutes. Unbelievably patient and kind, you've given my kids a memory that will last their lifetime! He also helped us out with finding a last-minute dispersed camping spot, and his suggestion worked perfectly! Thank you so much, Donal! Well worth the stop!!

Really nice free museum, kitted out like an old mining tent camp or something. Lots of artifacts from old Nederland/Caribou and fun facts about the history of the area. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Came into town to check out the history and this place was a gem. Can't complain when you get to learn a little history!

Clean bathrooms, too!

Very cool place. Unfortunately it was closed due to Covid but I was still able to get some pictures but no stories.

What a gem of a museum! Susan walked us around and had some great history and a love of mining to share. If you happen to be in Nederland when it is open, it's worth the stop! Don't forget to see the last Bucyrus Erie steam shovel that helped dig the Panama Canal!

Nederland has one of the few Tungsten deposits in the world something I didn't know until I walked in to this free museum. I learned so much about hard rock mining thanks to the world's friendliest staff. This museum is a great stop and full of so much valuable knowledge all for the price of FREE!

My 11 yr old said Mom, the guy who walked with us telling all the stories was the best part!!! Thank you! So sorry I can't remember your name, but you told us the best stories, we were the Mom with her child with orange/red hair! Got a piece of Mica from the bucket at the end that we added to our extensive collection! What a magnificent piece of history! We really loved it!!

Donal and John were amazing. My 9 and 10 yr old absolutely loved listening to Donal talk about the rocks and his mining experience.

This place is a great stop if you're in Nederland. The volunteers who run it make it feel so warm, welcome and wonderful. They know an incredible amount of information about the exhibits, they show you how to interact with the exhibits and are warm, friendly and inviting. They also knew a great deal about the history of Nederland. It is small, however they made it so interesting for us, that we stayed for almost an hour! (And we had a toddler in tow, which is amazing) We really enjoyed it.

Very neat little slice of history. Only took about a half hour to explore the whole place and it was free. The guide there was very knowledgeable and entertaining. I would say it's definitely worth a stop if you're a history buff or just interested in that region of Colorado in general.

Neat little museum about the mining history around Nederland and Boulder. The best part of the museum is the staff. Don Dick gave us a great tour and history, and he was super knowledgeable and passionate about the topics. The museum is free and interactive, which makes it a fun stopover when you're in the area (and if you're in the area, you must also check out the Carousel of Happiness, which is a piece of art).

Boulder County does an incredible job maintaining the history of Nederland. The museum is well organized and shares a real view of what it was like during the mining days of western Boulder County. It's like a small trip back through time...

Very interesting museum highlighting the history of mining in the mountains around Nederland Colorado. The museum has a steam shovel used in the construction of the Panama Canal.

Inside the museum is a large array of mining equipment used to extract and process a variety of mineral ores.

Great museum; docents are quite knowledgable about hard rock mining in Boulder County. I highly recommend visiting their museum easily found on the NW corner of the only roundabout.
