Stellis Health - Buffalo Clinic

Dr. Frank Anderson and Lauren Ducklow, CNP, truly live up to the Stellis Health mission of compassionate care! When I came to Dr. Anderson for MAT, I had complex issues from chronic pain (of physical origin), to addiction and chronic illness. Often, other doctors didn’t seem to take my pain and illness seriously, because I could have been complaining to get pills. Having been through 5 treatment programs, I didn’t expect progress, but Dr. Anderson was able to keep me off the problematic (for me) full opioids and monitor me, to check and document my progress. After that, I had fewer physical cravings than struggles of the spirit: lost hope, despair and difficulty trusting the medical treatment process, rather than taking matters into my own hands (as when I self-treated my pain and became addicted). Dr. Anderson takes the time to listen to how a person is coping with treatment, as well as the side effects. He is open to spiritual questions and concerns, if you have them, which has been an essential component of my recovery, along with the medication. My psych therapy team has helped with trauma, mental illness and recovery strategies, but didn’t respond to my spiritual questions as much. I thought it would be bothering a doctor to talk about that, but when Dr. Anderson he asked how I was doing, I could tell he meant all-around. To those like me who are street-wary, you don’t have to worry about what you disclose to him…just be open and honest. He is only wants to know what you needs are. As long as you show up or tell him exactly what happened if you can’t, let him know if you have strong cravings, a lapse or relapse, he will work with you, as long as you are willing to try a new strategy when necessary, going forward. He’s not one of those Pass or Fail types…he wants to see you get healthy. I started seeing it that way, too. You don’t succeed or fail at managing asthma and get punished, or give up. You go to the doctor, adjust your meds and avoid triggers, as you become aware of them and learn from your flare-ups. I didn’t help to treat my asthma if I didn’t mention I had allergies or smoked. Dr. Anderson knows addiction is a chronic disorder. When I finally opened up about what I was doing and dealing with, he used it to create an individualized, effective treatment plan. For me, that included safe pain treatment (that doesn’t build to a dangerous level or create high tolerance), meds to block full opiates and stop cravings and including the spiritual domain in my recovery have helped me maintain it for 7 years, now! Before I opened up, it was much harder to define my specific needs, so I learned to let the doctor know all I could. Soon, I didn’t see my visits as a test, but just doing something good for my health. That’s a positive thing and I receive unconditional positive regard for showing up to do that, here! Learning that we all deserve compassionate care, regardless of our condition, has inspired me to pursue a career in addiction treatment and recovery services. One treatment counselor and Dr. Anderson, in helping me, have modeled an effective way to help others, which I highly recommend! When I got new insurance that made it possible, Dr. Anderson referred me to a new Stellis Health GP, Lauren Ducklow. She has been thorough and prompt in addressing my chronic and acute physical health issues. Both have been compassionate, honest and respectful. I just reviewed my full record and what they have said to me is what is in the chart. All of the important things I tell them have been recorded and are promptly followed up on. The ability to trust providers is so important to me. The Stellis health team has never reduced my problem to a single issue, mental, chemical, OR physical health. They treat my health holistically and understand how illness and pain affects mental well-being, which can affect substance use, which affects spiritual well-being and impacts physical health again. I have finally broken out of the vicious cycle!

The Urgent Care staff was excellent. Despite coming in fairly late, they treated my daughter very well. The nurses and lab techs were kind, understanding, and professional. We left knowing that we had received a proper diagnosis and the right treatment plan.

Check in and appointment personal are efficient and cheerful. Lab & X-ray are helpful and right on top of their jobs. The doctors and their assistants welcome each one with a smile. My doctor (Roeser) is on top of of
my records dating back to 2012. Genuinely cares for me.

This message is more for the haters than the clinic. I LOVE this clinic - and the staff and doctors. But I also come from living and having doctors in Minneaoplis, NYC, Cost Rica, the Bahamas and London....let me tell you...you don't know how good you got in Buffalo, MN. I'm stickin' with Stellis.....but my Lord do I miss Sterling Drug - am I right???

This Message goes out to Dr. Beth Brinkman! On November 24th. which was Thanksgiving I came down with bronchitis. Even though this was a holiday and I did call the hotline Dr. Brinkman gave me a prescription for rhythm myosin and prednisone. I just want to say what a fantastic doctor she is. She looked over my chart and she knows my diagnosis with COPD and was willing to give me the prescription over the phone.
I just wanna say thank you for such a great staff at Stella Health and I will be making a appointment to see Dr. Brinkman!

We saw Tony Lesch tonight in urgent care. He was awesome! Very confident and straight to the point. He got my daughter all “fixed up” in no time. The nurses that helped were also amazing. It was my first time at this clinic & it was hands down a great experience. Thank you Tony & Nurses!

I have to disagree with the negative reviewers. No clinic is perfect. I have gone to several "mainstream" clinics, but I go back to Stellis Health. I have extreme health anxiety and the doctors and nurses have gone out of their way to make me feel assured and safe. The doctors have have visited have been thorough and thoughtful. Not many doctors will hug their patients, but mine do. This clinic is small town. They live here, go to church here etc. They care about who you are and how you live.

They are physically connected to Buffalo Hospital, but are not Alina. I am not as positive about Buffalo ER. While I have had a couple of decent ER doctors, I have also had nightmares. As said, no clinic or hospital is perfect. I don't think there is one doctor, clinic or hospital that is 100% across the
Board.

I've been a patient at Stellis Health in Buffalo, MN for the last 10 years and have lived all over the United States during this time. The personal care, understanding & outstanding service I've gotten for all of these years has surpassed every other experience I've had in the previous 30 years of my life living all over the country. I've travelled and lived from both the east and west coast during these years and continued to visit doctor in Buffalo because of the personal relationship I've gotten/built over the years which is priceless to me and forever changed my life. I still do not live near this clinic, but will continue to be a life-long patient of this clinic for as long as they will have me as they've been outstanding from nurses to my personal physician. Words can't express my gratitude for their care and cannot thank them enough. The entire staff has truly gone out of their way on dozens of occasions to do whatever is necessary for me no matter where I've been across the country. I'm greatful for finding them.

The dermatologist here at buffelo was so great she did wonders for my neice

Dr. Anderson is my favorite doctor out of any that I ever remember seeing. He really honestly listens and remembers, not just his notes but small things too. He’s always patient and goes above and beyond each time. If I have a problem he works with me, or a suggestion for my own treatment he gives me his opinion and work together on everything. He doesn’t push anything and doesn’t make any decisions on what my treatments will be without asking my thoughts and working with me each step. His nurses are also extremely patient and helpful. In my opinion him and his nurses are just everything they should be and more. 6 out of 5 stars.

Everyone was really friendly, including the person checking me in, the nurse, and the doctor. I felt like the whole process was very thorough, and I didn't feel like I was being rushed. Dr. Brinkman was great, and I would recommend her to anyone.

I have been a patient of Stellis Health since 1993 and have received wonderful care from the staff and providers. Full disclosure...I work at Stellis...but have continued to go to Stellis Health even during periods of my life when I have worked and lived elsewhere. I know from working with our providers just how much they care about our patients and the communities that we work in.

I have been here twice. first time for a scratched cornea. They were fast and respectful to get me in and the facility was very clean. The 2nd time was for Covid testing and virtual doctor visit. overall the personell care about you and want to make sure you understand what is happening and their recommendations. I am very happy with the care i recieved and will be making this site my primary provider.

As a side note, Stellis is reading the comments and are utilizing the comments to make the compay better as a whole.

Nothing but great visits with the stellis health buffalo. Friendly front staff, nurses and doctors. So I'd have to disagree with the negative reviews, not clinic is perfect but Stellis Buffalo is pretty awesome.

The staff and doctors are incredible. I really appreciate the personal attention and care I received, particularly from Dr. Wrobbel - she's amazing!!

Absolutely love the care we get everytime at Stellis Health!!! Each and every person has such a heart for what they do:) would 100% recommend!!!

Had a quick procedure perfomred by Dr. Halvorson who did a great job. Had a great experience with all the staff.

Always nice staff and curious. Would recommend.
