Vault of Midnight

Such a cool store!!! So many comics and soo many cool books. They also have Japanese snacks. The mango cream candies are SO DAMN GOOD!

I am not big on comic books, but my son saw this place and wanted to check it out. We were all pleasantly surprised by the large selection and the variety of products such as board games, plushies and Japanese candies and treats. They had something for everyone, including books for some of the youngest readers.

Best comic store in SE Michigan. Friendly staff that know how to help people without making us feel dumb for not knowing everything, (Looking at you GOB Retail).

I love this store and I'm glad to give my money to a business IN Detroit.

I brought my 7 year old here and we both absolutely loved this place. Very friendly and helpful staff. The store is very well organized with a great selection of comics, graphic novels, board games, trading cards, and collectibles.

I appreciated how they had an “all ages” section with graphic novels and books more appropriate for kids, which included a great section of comics/graphic novels with black characters.

My daughter left absolutely ecstatic with a Miles Morales graphic novel, a Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur graphic novel, and a few packs of Pokémon cards.

We will definitely be returning to this wonderful place again!

I am always such a fan of Vault of Midnight and have been shopping there (and at their old Downtown location when it was open) for several years. They have comics, graphic novels, board and card games, stuffies, and unique sweets. The space is well lit, clean, and organized in a way that is easy to navigate.

Over the years, every staff interaction has been positive, and I appreciate how friendly and helpful they have been with whatever I've needed to find. The book selection is a wide range from classic titles to more niche, and they have a nice section for kids, too, towards the back.

If you've been looking for inspired gift ideas for whatever the occasion or pleasant ways to pass the time, this place is it. Plus, the good vibes of supporting a local business. Prices are fair and usually MSRP.

Super cool. The store is neatly organized. Friendly and informative employees. Great vibes. Clean. Not chaotic. Fun experience.

If you're looking for one of the best comic shops in all of Metro Detroit, you found it. VoM Detroit offers a great variety of comics that can appeal to just about any reader.

Highly recommend checking them out, and also getting yourself an account with them as well for your weekly pulls/subscriptions so you can save a little on your purchases.

This place has it all and I love coming through here every time I'm in town. Books, graphic novels, comics, board games, DND guides (and accessories), stickers, small selection of magic cards, plushee toys, imported treats, collectible figurines. Awesome place.

The first "comic store" I visited in the US. Has absolutely everything, not just comics. Games, trading cards, manga, merchandise.... A very delightfull browsing with very nice employees, and I got myself a shirt as souvenir. Can only recommend to take a look!

I'm used to the Ann Arbor store but really enjoyed this one. The staff were very helpful.

Board game selection is not as large as Ann Arbor but still impressive.

I felt very comfortable talking nerd with the employees. The place was very classy. And all the comic books were in order.

It was my 1st time going and I was amazed! Loved it! Nice atmosphere and great staff. I ended up buying several things that I didn't plan on purchasing lol. I'll definitely be returning 🙂

This was my first visit to this vault of midnight, I have been to all three now, and they are all unique but this one is more modern. The employees were very nice as in all the stores.

Awesome selection! We picked up some graphic novels, manga, and snacks - we'll definitely be back.

Great store for games, figurines, comics, etc. If you're into this kinda stuff it's definitely the place for you. Make sure to budget some time for it cause you will get lost in there for 2 hours if you throughly explore the store

Easily one of the best comic shops I've ever been to! Great staff, great selection of items, that just about anyone can find something in this gem! If anyone is rolling through Detroit at all and you love nerdy and geeky things, you owe it to yourself to swing by Vault of Midnight!

Stopped by this shop with my kids. We hit the $1 comics. Friendly staff which wasn’t upset that I had my kids in there. The store also has a great selection of games. Store is smaller and selection is smaller. I would agree with another reviewer that the catered more to the pop culture crowd that would drop in given their location. I wouldn’t hold that against them though.

A great find! Absolutely wonderful spot for comic book fanatics. Very pleasant and helpful staff too!
