Redsmoke Barbeque

We visited on a Sunday afternoon, just before a Tigers game, with a large group of 11. We were the only patrons in the place when we arrived. We ordered a variety of dishes, including burgers, brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, and pulled pork nachos. Everyone in our group thoroughly enjoyed their meals, praising the flavors and quality. Our server provided excellent service, and while we did have to wait a bit longer than expected for our food, it was well worth it. Note that an automatic 15% gratuity is added to the bill, clearly indicated at the entrance. Overall, a great dining experience!

Took my two girls under 10, and ordered the 4 person platter…. Food for days!!!!! It was their first taste of smoked meat. They loved all of it, but Mac and cheese was a huge hit. As with the corn muffins… win all around..

Old Detroit amber ale, was good, but enjoyed the frankenmuth bavarian best

We were visiting because of a graduation and the fifteen of our group had dinner at this establishment. Everyone raved about how good the food was. I was impressed that they have quite a few things on the menu and they seemed to have perfected each one. The beef brisket, candies yams, collared greens, pulled pork, black eyed peas, those muffins were the best as was everything else. No one in our party had any complaints, it was some of the best restaurant foods that I have had over the years. Awesome and Amazing, keep up the good work.

Deana was a doll, super friendly and welcoming. I had the cajun fish and ribs combo with collard greens and muffin....wow... soo good . Definitely returning

This place was phenomenal! Atmosphere is great! Service is friendly and warm! and the food was so delicious 🤤 We absolutely loved everything we had in here. Beef was cooked just as we wanted and side of coleslaw was great! Nachos is a must have in here too! in this area of Greektown we were absolutely happy with our experience!

Authentic Southern BBQ in downtown Detroit including REAL sweet tea!

I ate here a few years back and was hoping they were still in business. It’s about a half mile from my hotel so it was a nice walk back and forth for an excellent meal and experience.

My server just started today but he was excellent and a witness to how good the BBQ is here. He said he recommends to all his friends and family are in town from Chicago. I had the ribs, coleslaw and jalapeño cornbread muffin. The ribs were perfect - nice smoke ring, firm and juicy with not a lot of fat. Each of the sauces was unique and tasty but I mostly ate them without sauce. The coleslaw was interesting- slightly sweet with some hints of broccoli. The muffin had a very satisfying flavor - the jalapeño saturated but didn’t overpower.

Such a great experience overall!!

Visited on Monday night. We were seated immediately, very friendly staff. We had slab of back ribs and smoked chicken. Both were outstanding. Very generous plate of sweet potato fries also excellent.

I was there on July 27th with some friends. It was an awesome experience for me because it was my very first time in Detroit, Michigan. The food was amazing. I the Brisket loaded fries and I would enjoy it again next time I'm there.

This was our first time eating at Red Smoke Barbecue and I will definitely go back. When we walked in the greeting was comforting and friendly, we got seated right away. To start I order a Tennessee Punch which was not made for the weak so be ready to leave this place drunk from one drink. I could smell the alcohol before the drink made it to my table… :) I had to drink in moderation. For an appetizer we ordered the Cajun Fish Bites which was fresh, hot, and full of delicious soul seasoning flavor. The Mac and cheese was a 10/10 while the collard greens made with chicken could of used some more flavor so a 8/10. The corn bread was sweet with a little spice to it which was different but still finger licking good. We order the Pull Pork Platter which is the picture with Mac and cheese and the Texas Beef Brisket (lean) which is the one with collard greens. Everything at this establishment was amazing and fulfilling. I highly recommend this restaurant to any that goes to Detroit. This place is also 7 minutes walking distance from the basement and football area.

The portions were large! Surprisingly large. Pictured is a bowl of the red chili and a side of loaded brisket fries. It was plenty of food for a quick lunch for my wife and I. We took some out with us in takeout boxes! Nice staff and great, tasty food.

1st of all, get the sweet sauce they use with their potatoes, on the side and dip your cornbread in it. It's amazing! The catfish was so good especially with their cajun sauce. Our server was on point with all his suggestions, I wish I got his name. Good food and good service. We would recommend this place again and again.

Ribs were ok, mac n cheese was great! Nice crunch with it.

My husband and I went out for a date night for the first time in over a year and I chose this place from a Google recommendation and soooo glad I did. The food was delicious and there was no wait when we got there at a quarter to 6 so we were seated immediately. Everyone was wearing a mask (except when eating obviously) and no one was crowded. Our waitress was friendly and constantly checked on us without being pushy. Now on to the food. It was delicious!!! 😋 I would definitely recommend this place whether u can dine in or carryout it is flavorful and yummy. Will definitely be back.

The food was great!! One of the most authentic soul food restaurants that we have visited. The gumbo and red beans and rice were not our favorite, but still better than other restaurants. The brisket and pulled pork were amazing with the many selections of sauces that are set out. The collard greens were my favorite.
The service was great and we had a normal wait time.

This place went above and beyond from the beginning. My group and I was reading the menu posted outside the building thirty minutes prior to opening and a worker came out and handed us each a menu to make it easier to see. Because of this, we decided to go here for lunch. It was a Wednesday at opening, so there was only one or two servers working. But at no point did we have to wait for anything. The servers were simply the best. The fries, brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and burgers were all amazing. Perfectly cooked, Flavorful, tender. Some of the best barbecue I've had. The 4 BBQ sauces they had on the table were all amazing. The mud sauce and the hot sauce were my favorite. We went through a half bottle each during out visit. Portions were substantial, but everything was so good I cleaned my plate. If you are in greektown and want some quality barbecue, I can't recommend this place enough.

This place is incredible! It's chic and modern, and yet has that backyard barbecue taste. There are so many combo dishes (which I highly recommend) that it would take you years to really try all. The sauces, you can easily tell are house crafted. They are truly delicious and found myself trying to figure out which sauce pairs with which meat. It made it so much fun! The house made barbecue chips as an appetizer are a MUST-HAVE! You can tell that this is to be a staple in Michigan BBQ. The Cherry Molasses truly reflected that.

Seemingly nestled in to the shadow of the greektown casino this spacious restaurant offers some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Upon entering we were greeted by an incredibly friendly host that shuttled us to our table. I didnt't seem too overly staffed or busy when we arrived, but that changed as we mulled over the selection of smoked meats. We ended up ordering a bit of everything and wow. The brisket was so tender, the ribs had a dry rub (and so moist), everything was fantastic. Would definitely make my way back here. Thanks

A lot of food! The sauces were good... Not too hot... And the meats and sides were very tasty.
They do add 15% charge to ALL dine in which is unfortunate since I'd have tipped 20 but resent this forced payment so she got the 15. The service was very pleasant and good.

Micah was our server and she was very nice! Gave great recommendations and was overall super sweet

Food was amazing and the sauces are meant to be mixed together which was pretty sweet. Quiet place to eat.
