District Seventy8

I found my new spot. This upscale bar & grill in downtown Detroit's theater/sports district. We dropped in after a comedy show on my birthday, and it was a vibe. Offered a range of menu items to appeal to everyone. The bar was popular, people were walking in requesting to sit there. A great experience!

Went for brunch and the food, service and atmosphere all get 5 stars! Heather was attentive and went toe-to-toe with my husband and his jokes 😂😂. We had the chicken sandwich, which was seasoned to perfection, the shrimp and grits, shrimp appetizer and the salmon burger which I would LOVE to get the recipe for!! There were a good amount of ppl but we were easily able to make a reservation and was surprised it wasn’t packed for Sunday brunch. Music was good and we saw quite a few martini towers being served around us…will def be back!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at District seventy 78 and I must highlight the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Betty!!!! From the moment we were seated, she was attentive, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu.

Her recommendations were spot-on, and she took the time to ensure that our dietary preferences were accommodated perfectly. Throughout the meal, she checked in just the right amount – enough to make sure we had everything we needed without being intrusive.

Her professionalism and friendly demeanor truly enhanced our dining experience, making it memorable for all the right reasons. We will definitely be returning, and we hope to be served by Betty again. She is a true asset to your team!

Our server Steven was awesome. The food,dj,atmosphere, service & drinks was a 10/10 We went there for a friend's Birthday dinner. I had the Salmon, mash & spinach it's a must have, it was delicious 😋

Atmosphere is chilled perfect for date night, hanging out with friends, happy hour, or just sitting alone at the bar. Music provides cool vibes . Food is absolutely delicious. Drinks were a little overpriced, in my opinion, but everything is these days. The staff was friendly and attentive. The establishment was clean and welcoming.

Overall, I am happy to give this place a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Excellent menu!The food was very tasty. Unfortunately, some items were delivered at room temp, and corrected immediately. The atmosphere is unique and lively. I would definitely go again and try a few more items out.

Had a really great time here!!! The food was really good.. The atmosphere was very open and inviting. Manager was very attentive and was doing lots of checking on tables. I got the chicken sandwich with truffle fries. The fries wasn't my favorite but that sandwich was sooooo goood!! The drinks are everything! Sooo good! The bathroom is downstairs smh and them stairs ain't nothing nice lol BE CAREFUL LADIES IN HEELS OR BUZZED! Nice clean bathroom. Kinda hard to park so be aware of a walk! Will be back, very soon!

A friend and I visited over Cinco de Mayo weekend while we were in the city for the Gunna show and everything from the security outside the door to our server was impeccable. The manager himself came up to us after noticing that we had been waiting for a while and the server was attentive and gave us amazing recommendations. We had the Braised Lamb Chops (10/10) as well as the Charred Ceaser Salad (10/10). The atmosphere of the restaurant mixed with the celebratory vibes of Cinco de Mayo made for an unforgettable dining experience. A must visit when you are in the D.

Oh, you won't believe how amazing the food was at this place! I started off with the bing bang shrimp and calamari for appetizers. Let me tell you, those shrimp were bursting with juiciness and flavor. As for the calamari, it was just okay, nothing too special. For the main course, I went with the lamb chops, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. The lamb was absolutely delicious, and the mashed potatoes were so buttery and full of flavor. I couldn't get enough! And let's not forget about the fantastic atmosphere and the good music they played. It really set the mood for a cute date night. I also ordered a strawberry lemon drop which was really enjoyable!

Had a great time here celebrating a friend's 1 year anniversary! The drinks were good and the food was super tasty! I had the calamari, which was cooked perfectly. As well as the seafood scampi which I loved!! Service was great as well. They had Halloween decorations up which added a nice spooky touch for the season. We also loved how the people who worked there had custom Lions Jerseys on!! Cute touch! Definitely check them out if you're downtown Detroit and looking for a fun place to eat.

This was our first time visiting District Seventy8 and we will absolutely be back again. Everything from the atmosphere and the service to the portion size, presentation, and overall quality of the food was amazing. Hostesses were welcoming, our server Ashley was friendly and attentive, one of the partners, John, introduced himself and checked in on our experience.

Everything that we had on the menu was to die for. We ordered the calamari and the spicy cauliflower for appetizers, which were both really good and decent size portions… Between three people we were not even able to finish everything. For entrées we had the Cajun pasta and ribeye with a side of macaroni and cheese.. delicious is an understatement. I feel like so often you go to a decent restaurant and you pay a large amount of money for a teeny tiny portion, and this is just not the case with this place which I loved.

Cocktail menu is well rounded and the drinks were awesome from both a presentation and taste perspective. Hats off to the bartenders!

Finally, get the dessert. We had blueberry cheesecake and carrot cake but as I saw things being brought to other tables, everything looked wonderful.

This place was absolutely delicious. Great service and tasty menu options that I would return for time and time again. The Bing Bong Shrimp had a beautiful heat and sweet finish along with classic Mediterranean styled lamb chops, and Middle Eastern styled meat balls that I would get without the sauce. 5 out of 5 stars for the entire experience. Oh, and their prices were reasonable along with hospitable service!

Perfect for an intimate date night or a late night cocktail with friends! I was pleasantly surprised! This place has been several different restaurants over the years that fail to make the mark but District Seventy8 is a whole vibe. Loved the atmosphere, music and all the food was delicious 😋. Definitely a must-try!!

Betty was a fantastic server. She provided superb service. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and recommended great things for us.

I had brunch with a few of my girlfriends for the first time At District 78.
The food and the atmosphere was awesome! But what made my first time there even more festive. Was your new waitress Chandler. She was absolutely awesome. We were her first table with District 78. She’s a new and an outstanding waitress. Take care of her as an employer and continue to pay her well. She definitely gets the art of Customer Service with a smile.!

We tried District 78 for our monthly girls' dinner. The restaurant is nicely decorated. There were a variety of things available on the menu. As appetizers we tried the fried cauliflower, truffle fries, steak bites, chicken wings, and bing bong shrimp. We ordered a martini flight. They range from $80-$130, we split the largest one between the table. For the main course we tried the alfredo w/salmon, 78 seafood mac, and a burger. All the food was delicious (wings were a bit bland) but the stars of the evening were the steak bites and the salmon alfredo😋 I wanted to try the key lime cheesecake but it was sold out😢We spent about $110/each give or take a few dollars.
Our server, Tia was exceptional. She was attentive and very helpful with information regarding menu selections.

parking lots are $20/you may get lucky and find one on the street
Most of the chairs are high back stools
The restroom is downstairs.
The restaurant is fairly new, so it's super busy. I'd recommend making reservations.

I went Sunday food was amazing. Betty was my waitress and she was amazing as well. Prices are a little pricey I paid 68 dollars for Cajun pasta and 1 alcoholic beverage. Overall experience was nice I will definitely come back.

I had a great experience here and the food was delicious. Our waitress Ashia was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. She was very knowledgeable about the menu so that helped us navigate. Will definitely be back soon to ask for her service again!

Awesome experience!👏🏽🫶🏾 showed up without a reservation, but the guy at the door was very accommodating in helping us find a seat. Within minutes, we were able to obtain seating at the bar, which was grand as well. I ordered the District burger, which was delicious! I never usually eat an entire burger, but it was fresh and good, and I couldn't stop eating it! There's so many good thing on the menu it was hard to decide what to get. The drinks were great made by.....I experienced the Starburst🍸, a lemon🍸 and an AllAboutThemApples🍸 Martini🍸 and they were all good!!! Our server/bartender was great and very attentive she kept us together and suggested things to try! The atmosphere was great! The vibe was great! There was enough seating, though it was packed! The place is beautiful 😍 glad they made use of the Rusted Crows old digs....there was enough amazing staff to go around. The music was great! And I can't wait to return!!!!
